- In this 19th century, supernatural comedy, a drunken applejack salesman must go from zero to hero and become North America's greatest fur trapper when he loses his whole operation in a fire and is stranded in the wilderness. Now facing starvation, he must survive in a surreal winter landscape surrounded by Hundreds of Beavers - all played by actors in full-sized beaver costumes. Using nothing but his dim wits, he develops increasingly complex traps to battle the beavers and win the hand of a mischievous lover.

Is it a completely silent film? Asking as a deaf person. :)
@@contron it is not completely silent. There are de minimis grunts and other reaction sounds that are part of the movie, but not essential to understanding any of the jokes.
The pantomime, visual indicators, and readable lips when they do say a rare word are 99% of the content.
I’m not deaf, but I will inappropriately speak on behalf of deaf people and claim that this movie is handcrafted for a deaf person to enjoy. Please try it and let me know if I was right
@@contron There's only one line of dialogue, and it's done through text cards like a Chaplin movie. Music and sound effects are used very frequently to emphasize jokes, but it's nothing necessary. You should be fine!

This movie is ridiculously funny. It's already up my alley so I had high expectations going into it and was NOT disappointed. I have ADHD, I'm easily bored and easily distracted. I feel physical discomfort when I'm bored. I was amazed to find myself glued to this movie for the full nearly 2 hour runtime without even a line of spoken dialogue.
You've sold me on this based on being the exact same as me. I hope I can stay focused on it

The most I have laughed at a film since the first time I saw Monty Python and the Holy Grail as a kid. Legitimately the funniest movie in DECADES!
Saw this last week, and absolutely loved it. A film that was hugely original, very smart, and incredibly funny! Can't wait to get it on UK Blu-Ray next month! A wonderful cinematic experience!

Suitable for kids?
Kind of hard to generalize for all kids, every parent has different standards and IDK how old your kids are
But if they've seen PG/PG-13 rated comedies before, its probably fine.
It does have some suggestive gags, and there is one scene where the Furrier gets down to lingerie and dances on a pole briefly, but there's no nudity and most of the other gags on that front are innuendos.
The violence is mostly just like a Looney Tunes cartoon, but there is some cartoon gore and a couple brief gags with more realistic looking blood, though most of the "blood" in the film is packing peanuts for blood (You can see that in this trailer in one of the clips where a beaver gets squished by a log) and felt valentines day heart shaped hearts being pulled out of costumes.

Is it gore? This looks like it will have at least one scene of very graphic gore for shock value, like you think it's going to be cartoony violence but as a twist it's horrifyingly gore.

it's a brilliantly executed "live action" cartoon - they had a small budget and lean into the artificiality of the effects in very funny ways. incredible set ups and payoffs, it's a movie entirely made of bits but it miraculously works. one of the funniest movies of the last decade
This movie is an exact rip off of Jeremiah Johnson, the only difference is this guy is much better looking than Robert Redford.
I only watched the first 20 minutes, but the unfunny-ness of the slapstick wore me down. I'll give it another try to see what develops, but this was not making me laugh...and I love dumb humor just as much as anyone else.

Wow. This kind of cartoon slapstick is the worst. I would pay to NOT see this movie.
The trailer alone helps me know that this is DEFINITELY a horrible movie and anyone in the comment section who thinks it is or could be, is not a person that I’d want to receive advice from.
Watched the movie just to confirm that I wasn’t being judgmental for the trailer. It still sucked. Was horrible. Never chuckled.
Some will get that type of joke. Some won't. It's not your type of comedy.
