Holy heck! This video has just answered soooooo many questions for me. It's also just helped me do a thing I didn't think I could do on Airtable for my CEO! Thank YOU!!! 🙌🏼
@@andrewkroeze999 We need to be reminded if a log hasn't been updated. I think I can use your example for moving tasks to overdue. I need to adapt it to a form completion however.
Thank you for a great video. Question if I may - I want to set my status default such that it always shows "new" unless I change it. Can You tell me how to do that?
super easy - edit the Status Column. At the bottom, you should see "default option". Create a new option in the field that says "new" or whatever you want to call it. Then set the Default Option to "new" Then every new record will show up as that status initially (unless you / a team member changes it)
The automation doesn’t make sense to me.. when the date is before today & the status is not completed, how is that overdue? It made sense the first time when your options were when the date is after today and status is not completed, it is overdue. Can you explain this please? Also, nothing changed for me when I created the automation 🧐
Date before today applies to the due date. Let's say we are Friday, and a task was due on Wednesday, but not completed. The timeline is "before today", so the status is overdue. This automation requires some custom code if you want it to work in every scenario (when an task is created, modified, etc..)

Hi Andrew,
did you build this system from scratch on Airtable, or its common for them? because I saw another entrepreneur talk about it
I built it from scratch
The automation did not work in your video, the Upcoming did not go to Overdue.
just one switch in the automations will get ya squared away there
