    So, is Hollywood still using that yellow filter whenever a movie takes place in Mexico? I've been to Mexico and it's not yellow... 🤔 It's all a lie!! They brainwashed me... 😭😅

    There are a few things I wish could be gone over a bit slower for a "basic" tutorial, like how to even make a node, or how to rename them like you do. But I went and watched other more basic tutorials and came back to this one and made more sense. Always good to get multiple opinions of a process to start formulating your own!

    @jorishermans I can be considered to be a noob in using Davinci resolve. I shoot video with a Sony Xperia 5 Ii. Just for fun. It does have a b.2020 color setting mode.
    Assuming there are other folks out there, could you go into that kind of stuff a bit more. In my case I am using a MacBook pro 14" (M2) that works great with that kind of footage, but it is not easy figuring out how to set up davinci resolve correctly.
    I spent a lot of time making my little video look a bit normal. A mix of project settings and using CST did it. Any suggestions for your followers?
    BTW: great channel! I learned a lot.

    Joris, I'm a little confused on something. What do you do if you are trying to edit a music video and some footage needs to be color-graded from SLOG 3, but the B-Roll has already been color-graded? If your color space transform is set to SLOG3 S-Gamut3.Cone; won't that mess up the already color-graded footage? I'm a newbie, I just don't want to screw this up. Super important.

Yet these programs don’t automatically set what you shot the video with or don’t automatically set resolution, most do set frame rate, some do frame rate and resolution.

    • @Incredible-Gaming
      @Incredible-Gaming Год назад +2

      Yes, that's what he and all the other people who do such tutorials do wrong right at the beginning. No beginner knows what "color-space-transform" is. With no beginner, the recording looks so pale and white. They're all doing it wrong and people don't understand what's so hard about it. No beginner has such a professional camera with which he can process it in this way. You're right, it's just not beginner-friendly.

  • @john2510
    @john2510 7 месяцев назад

    I'm a novice, so I'll certainly defer to you, but instead of using the layer node at 9:00, couldn't you have just inverted the selection in the node where you had selected the skin tones, then made the changes within that same node... affecting only the non skin-toned areas?
    I tested that theory, and it seemed to work.
