One Skillet Hashbrown Casserole......stick to your bones meal, definitely not a "diet" dish!

  • One Skillet Hashbrown Casserole
    INGREDIENTS
    1 pound ground beef
    1 pound frozen tater tots
    1 (12 ounces) can evaporated milk
    1 (10.5 ounce) cheddar cheese soup, Campbell’s brand
    1 (10.5 ounce) can of cream of chicken
    1 (8 ounce) bad of shredded cheese; sharp cheddar, or Colby/Monterey Jack, or combo of both
    1 medium yellow onion, diced
    ½ cup of butter, 1 stick, melted
    ¼ teaspoon garlic salt
    ¼ teaspoon black pepper
    Pinch of cayenne pepper
    Salt, as needed
    PREPARATION
    STEP 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
    STEP 2
    Chop onions finely and sauté in skillet until opaque, set aside
    STEP 3
    Brown the ground beef in skillet over medium heat. Drain the grease. Return to skillet and add in sauteed onions
    STEP 4
    Combine milk, cheddar cheese soup, cream of chicken, butter, garlic salt, black pepper and cayenne pepper in a large mixing bowl
    STEP 5
    Layer the meat w/onions at the bottom of a 9x13 casserole dish, top with the cheese. Add on the tater tots, as many as you’d like, just make sure it is a single layer.
    STEP 6
    Pour the creamy mixture from bowl atop of the hashbrowns
    STEP 7
    Bake for 1 hour until sides are bubbly
