In my country, the media (all leftists) stopped reporting argentinian news when the signs of an economic turning point started showing. Before that, every time there was a manifestation against Milei (due to the cuts he had to perform), they reported it and interviewed protesters, to portray Milei as the bad guy. The same they did to Trump. The media here is simply despicable. Completely dishonest pundits.

Some years are great fir my tomatoes and another year we can have a bad year. So some years you literally couldn't make ends meet and break even without raising prices so price controls would result in going out of business. As an Economics teacher the supply and demand dance is fluid and has many factors that influence a free market price. Any intervention or price floor results in shortages. This is Econ 101. @@thisisaname5589 So... basically, what you're affirming is that no people on earth can learn not a thing fron its own experience or, maybe, you are just saying that argentines are nothing but a bunch of idiots.
Because the world's history tells right the opposite to what you've stated; as long as a society has the freedom to choose its own authorities, it can evolve by commiting mistakes amd fixing them by choosing new ones that represent and defend their best values and interests.
The problem is when populists take the power, either by violence or by democracy; then they will do anything to keep it under their claws and that's when things transforms in something else, in a blood (and resources) thirsty monster which will fight fiercely against any attempt to remove it from the place he thinks belong him by divine right.
And argentine people is not like docile sheep but self conscious individuals that not always make the right decisions or elections (just like anyone else in the US or Europe) but, as time pass and results don't come, they finally find the correct option to have what's good for them and the next generations, as any western based society.
Don't underestimate argentine people; they have struggling to get free of populism for the last 25 years and, as you know, democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others

I'll tell you why it took so long to stop the socialism, It's happening now where I live in South Africa.
Initially the uneducated people are bedazzled by the idea of government grants, because it's "free money". Then the decline begins.
At first they don't realise that the whole economy is declining, services are deteriorating unemployment is rising etc.
When they realise it, things are so bad that they have become dependent on grants just to get by.
At this point it is super difficult for political parties to campaign on capitalism and free markets, because it will be so painful for the voter base to rip off that band aid.
      And so the cycle continues.
It really has a very similar loop to addictive drugs.

It seems like true capitalism needs to be explained over and over again because some people have an unexplainable dislike to it when, in reality, capitalism allows people who have disabilities whether mental or physical, to survive and live their best life and not feel like they are a burden because of their limitations.

There's a mix of reasons. Ignorance and indoctrination being the top 2. Socialism sounds good on paper and it's easier to sell than capitalism is an elevator pitch. Saying "free this and free that" sounds extremely appealing.
I been studying economics for many years now. I've read tons of books. Lots of study time. I can refute socialism inside and out. But the average person isn't going to put that kind of time into it. 99.99 percent of people haven't read at least 5 books on the topic to have some what of an understanding of it. So socialism and intervenionism in general is just more appealing.

Oh, Ben Shapiro, the high priest of 'free markets will solve everything.' Because clearly, history has shown us that leaving everything to the invisible hand means no more economic crashes, no wealth inequality, and definitely no corporate greed. Who needs regulations when you have the magic of capitalism, right? It's not like we've seen this movie before where the boom turns into a spectacular bust, leaving us all to pick up the pieces. But hey, according to Shapiro, if you're poor, just work harder, and if you're unemployed, maybe you should've invested in the bubble before it popped. Free markets, the epitome of fairness and foresight, am I right?
