Thank you for another rad video! I haven’t tried the Field Roast options but my fave big box store options are the Tofurky peppered and Sweet Earth applewood smoked ham.

Going to have to try the field roast for comparison... but the Sweet Earth Ham was a good recent discovery.

The Unreal Corned Beef, in a sandwich toasted in the oven with melted cheese is so so so good. Almost like a pastrami sandwich

Field roast is better ingredients, tofurky is just a tofu which is soy but if you are into that thing, you would like that one

big up yourselves for trying the prosciutto. glad you guys tried it. it is an appetizer type thing, to be eaten with crackers or cheese or added into something kind of like bacon would be added to a dish for flavor. as much as I want to like it (i love thinly sliced ham) i prefer regular ham to prosciutto. Oddly enough, sandwiches are my fave food so i really enjoyed this video. you two are a beautiful couple

I totally appreciate the detail of observation in this video. I'm not vegan, but I'm doing no meat for 30 days as of December 1st, so I just finished Day 12...and I'm craving a sandwich. So what I got from this is Tofurkey and Field Roast! And maybe down the line try the UnDeli brand. Thank you SO much for this video. Yves is a Canadian brand and it's pronounced "Eve" because it is a French word.
Yves Potvin is a French chef who started Yves veggie products in the '80s with $500. In 2004, Potvin founded Gardein. His story is very interesting!

been looking fw to this one. it's so hard to find a decent lunch meat replacement. we've tried many and not liked any of them including the yves. I need to go watch the seafood one also as it used to be my fav. these are just sooo helpful in helping me decide where to spend my $'s. tysm

Tofurky is my favorite (haven’t tried that new brand you just tried, but I don’t suspect it’ll change). Field Roast is good for what it is & I don’t mind adding it to a sub with Tofurky slices. Loath the others. Highly recommend a sub with ALL of the Tofurky slices, Violife’s Epic Mature Cheddar (the block), shredded lettuce, tomato, red onion, banana peppers, pickled jalapeños, Just Mayo, & hot pepper jelly. Chef’s kiss! 👌

I looooove the Yves salami! It’s so good with a slice of Chao cheese and vegan Mayo. I even pan fry it and add it on top of my just egg sandwiches.

i've only tried two from tofurky, the tofurky hickory smoked slices was not my fav but i finished the pack anyway (but then again that was my first time buying fake deli meat so i should've had my standards WAY lower lol) but then i contacted the company and was just being honest that i wasn't a fan and they ended up mailing me coupons to try another kind which was so nice of them! with the coupon i bought the oven roasted and was a bigger fan!! i haven't had them in so long now i'm craving them again😅
I’ve had the tofurkey smoked turkey and it’s pretty good. My favorite though, is Sweet Earth turkey. It has a taste and texture much closer to the real thing

If you haven’t tried the bee hive pepperoni yet! Definitely try it! It’s hands down the best vegan pepperoni I’ve had in my opinion of course. To my knowledge I’ve only been able to find on line.

the unreal deli turky is amazing
Tofurkey is good enough honestly, their ham style slices are in my top 3 of all time that I've tried and their Turkey style is in my top 10.
Love these videos. We always buy the Tofurky Hickory. The only other one we’ve tried is the Tofurky Oven Roasted.

Fun fact: "Corned beef" doesn't actually contain corn. "Corning" is a style of preserving or curing the beef, similar to when meat is salted to preserve it like salami and other cured meats. It's just cured with large granules of rock salt that are referred to as "corns". Corned beef is traditionally served in a Reuben sandwich with sauerkraut, swiss cheese, and thousand island dressing. I guess it's not as popular in NJ but I always visit Deli's in NY that serve it. I'll look out for the Unreal Deli version now, thanks!

Man I want to try the field roast deli slices because you make it sound so good but to doesn’t seem to be available near me.
Yves makes a salami that is SO good. When I was a kid, my friend's Dad used to take slices of salami and spread cream cheese on it as a snack for us. Then years ago when I started eating the Yves products and found the salami (I think they are the only mass producer who makes salami), I immediately veganized this childhood favorite and it's been a mainstay for me, and any charcuterie board or picnic basket I have made since then. TRY IT! Yves salami spread with vegan cream cheese and rolled up. SO YUM!

Prosciutto is Italian un-smoked ham. I have never seen anyone eat it on it's own unless they are obsessed with it. Basically it's supposed to add a slightly sweet and salty flavor and can be used on a cheese board, pizza, and wrapped around asparagus. (Disclaimer: I never liked pork products especially ham. I didn't enjoy this as a meat product. I doubt that I would like the vegan version.) Great video. 😊

I'm considering the vegan lifestyle and I noticed at my grocery store a pack of field roast sausage with apples and I read the ingredients and it seems really good. Have you tried any of their sausage? Seems like they just use veggie and fruits. Not much artificial stuff

I haven't tried the Field Roast deli meats, but I have tried their veggie burger, and the veggie burger is sooo salty, plus the veggie burger tasted like the stuffing you put in turkey? I have tried Yves veggie bologna, and the flavor is good, but you are right, their slices are kind of chewy, but if you have the slices with bread, cheese and lettuce it does taste pretty good.
If I remember correctly without looking it up, we weren't a big fan of the FR burger

Really!? It's usually by the coffee. Pepperoni we usually get at Natural Health in Blackwood, Wegmans and Sprouts carry Yves too

Tip: Use a couple of slices of Tofurky with one slice of Field Roast. The Field Roast has a ton more salt. That way you get the intense flavor of the Field Roast without so much salt. I, unfortunately, discovered your site after I had tried all of these delis slices and I agree completely with your ranking!

I started with tofurkey roast slices which were fine, then tried the unreal turkey which is incredible. But then! I made a batch of 86 eats deli turkey slices and that is my absolute favorite. She has the recipe on her site and a video walkthrough here in yt. So easy and delicious and inexpensive.

For anyone in the Phoenix, AZ area, there is a local company called Fluffy Vegans that makes fantastic deli meats!! I’m so spoiled by them I don’t buy any others any more. The only thing I haven’t found is vegan pastrami, I think I tried herbivorous butchers version once, but it wasn’t my favorite.
Because of this comment, I went to the Phoenix farmers market and got some today and it is excellent!! Thank you!!

I like Tofurkey. In the UK, Quorn do vegan ham and chicken slices. I prefer the ham slices. And Vbites do deli slices, loved the sage and onion slices, always used to eat them straight out of the pack. Recently, I've tried Squeaky Bean pastrami slices, they remind me of corned beef.

Simple Truth Peppered Turkey was my favorite! They changed the formula to salt & pepper and I haven’t tried that one yet.

Unreal deli is by far the best vegan lunchmeat. Tofurky was my go to for the longest but when i tasted unreal deli it was no going back. Unreal deli actually has the texture and taste of meat. Actually unreal deli is so delicious if u woulda gave it to me back before i was vegan i woulda reached for that over a real turkey sandwich. The corned beef is really good to. Has a really strong umami flavor.

I really dislike Yves deli slices, there's something about their mock meats I just don't like. I LOVE Tofurky, and I had completely forgotten about the field roast deli slices although they used to be packaged differently, I'll keep an eye out for them again. Great video!

Haven't seen field roast slices but will try based on this review even though I'm not a field roast fan. I have tried tofurky and I love their whole deli slices. I want to try Unreal deli corned beef that sounds delicious yes I'd put sauerkraut on it bc sauerkraut is Knock out good 😉🤣🖤

I've tried Vegan deli slices and Vegan meats in France, they were INSANELY good, no after taste, the texture was phenomenal. Contacted Whole Foods to see if they can contact the vendor and they got all defensive saying that nobody can contact them with suggestions of Vendors, that they have their own way of finding products blah blah blah. It was ridiculous.The product is made by Taifun...Paris has so many, many good stores one of my favorites is Un Monde Vegan...I'm only mentioning this because you tried the Italian deli slices

these are good suggestions. ill try some of these. i havent found anything meatless my son will eat for lunch at school. ive been finding chewed up and spit out portions of sandwiches in his bookbag. so, so far its been kind of a filthy process...

I have made vegan cream chipped beef. I use litelife smart bacon which I think is not even remotely close to bacon but is similar to dried beef. And just swap any vegan milk and butter for the cream sauce.

I love Tofurky. If you're near a Fry's or Kroger, the Simple Truth brand is very similar and a little cheaper.
And the odd favors for Field Roast sounds about right. I LOVE the tomato cheese, even though it's nothing like any cheese I'd had before. I think there company is trying to get "Flexitarians" on board with flavors you can't get from anything else.

@@MakeItDairyFree Not for us either (We're in central Texas, so the closest Kroger in a 2 hour drive). We visited friends in Arizona recently and were ecstatic to see on the plant based items at Fry's.
They had this Buffalo Cauliflower dip! Omg, I dipped your crispy cauliflower recipe in it. Soooo good. Whenever you're ever traveling in Kroger country, make a stop, it's worth it.
Have you guys seen the Sweet Earth deli slices? They have ham, Turkey, and pepperoni. I tried the turkey one the texture is just like the real thing, taste was alright.
We choose not to support Nestle brands in our family so that's why they weren't included

It tastes like resistance bands🤣🤣 tofurky is my usual go to the unreal Turkey was horrible to me but I never found the other ones to try.

What a time to be alive, when we can say things like, "Our personal butcher . . . " as vegans! I find plant-based lunch meat challenging, because, like yogurt, it's more hit and miss than beef and poultry analogues. I remember trying the Kroger Simple Truth plant-based turkey slices and Black Forest Ham slices, and the turkey I had to throw out because it was _fishy tasting_ but the first bite of the ham made my brain go, "Oh! Black Forest Ham! I forgot about you!" Can you imagine if Gardein tried doing lunch meat? Thanks for the analysis and recommendations!

Lupini are a lima type bean that need to be soaked for weeks in a salty brine. Then you pop the shells off and eat the salty bean as a snack.
