Upgradable laptop is such a rare occurance now. If it is a 7840u processor, this will be perfect casual everyday laptop that can game lightly

Yeah the L and E series seem to be 1 generation behind for cpu (to keep costs low). Hopefully in an few months the new one drops with rdna3 series as you say

Yeah, I was looking at the Lenovo range, but ended up going with a cheap Dell Inspiron 16 5645 instead because it had the Ryzen 7 8840u. RAM, wifi and m2 SSD are all socket upgradable. There was no option in the BIOS to change the amount of VRAM, so I used a tool called "Smokeless UMAF" to bump it up from 512MB to 2GB. I'm a Linux user, and the first thing I did was install Linux on it, so I don't know how it runs under Windows. However, it runs Linux really well - it's cool and quiet under light/medium loads, and the 54Whr battery usually lasts around 7 or so hours (depending on what I'm doing). I haven't used a Dell for over a decade now, but have been really impressed with this one (for a "casual" Linux workstation).

I have the Thinkpad E16 (Gen 2) Intel model of this laptop. In the AU/NZ market both the Intel and AMD models have the option for the 2650x1600 display. The AMD model has an upgrade option for an aluminium base cover, and the Intel model has the upgrade option for the 57Wh battery. I have the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H CPU with the 2650x1600 display and just love this laptop.

Getting this 16gb Ram model __Thinkpad e16 at Indian Rs. 51.5k for 7535u and 66.5k for 7735u which are around USD 612 and 617.5 respectively at Lenovo site.
    And i5 1335u 8+8gb model at Rs. 69k.
Bro, I am willing to go for the 7735u, my doubt is__Is it worth the penny, as I get similar specs 600US dollars from other brands, with 2800×1800.
How is the display of the Thinkpad ? As I use 14inch 1080p, is the pixalation in display noticeable considering its 16inch FHD resolution ??
The Custom Build (8gb model with 500gb SSD) with Aluminum Back, 2560×1600 Display, and 57Whr battery carries the price to around Rs. 85k, that is, about US 1010 dollar without Windows OS which is too costly for me.
I am a learner by habit, with occasional gaming, but mostly satisfied with Photoshop and Office Work, Language Learning Softwares. Ports and Upgradation have kept me from looking at other options, if not the Display.
Give a suggestion bro, about Display, and performance between i3 1335u vs 7735u.
Will all E16 Gen 2 models have 2 slots for further upgradation ??

So I am looking at getting an. E16 to complement my dekstop as a second device for writing and media consumption (youtube, netflix etc). In India, the E16 Gen 1 and Gen 2 AMD have ready built models which cost the same (Rs. 53,000/-) and have almost the same specs
    Differences:
    E16 Gen 1: AMD 7530U
    E16 Gen 2: AMD 7535U
    Screen
    E16 Gen 1: 40.64cms (16) WUXGA (1920 x 1200), IPS, Anti-Glare, Non-Touch, 100%sRGB, 300 nits, 60Hz
    E16 Gen 2: 40.64cms (16) WUXGA (1920 x 1200), IPS, Anti-Glare, Non-Touch, 45%NTSC, 300 nits, 60Hz
So the Gen 1 has the better screen (full 100% SRGB), while the Gen 2 has better speakers.
Which would be better to compromise on, the screen or the speakers. I would like to not use headphones if possible, but I'm not sure about the 45% NTSC Screen on the gen 2.
