I got the 3090 Asus strix and water cooled it both sides with ekwb’s back in march last year. Cost me an eye bleeding £2400. Should I have waited? I maxed out RDR2 with it, which I had been playing for a few weeks on my 1080ti and decided the upgrade was well worth it for such a game. One of my better covid purchases. But looking at the price of the 3080tiI will say it’s probably just as good as the 3090 for a lot less.

The biggest performance jumps seem to be between the standard cards (3060, 3070, 3080) and their Ti counterparts (3060 Ti, 3070 Ti, 3080 Ti). The smallest jumps are between the Ti's and the next card up. I think that makes the Ti's the best value. I bought a 3060 Ti a month ago for $500 at Micro Center. Most 3070's I found were $660 or more. That's a 32% increase in price for a few additional FPS. It didn't make sense to me. The next card up for me would have been a 3070 Ti, especially since they can be found for as little as $40 over a 3070.
I am looking for a 3070 TI to replace my 1070 TI, the TI variants are the better value. Give them a minor overclock and you get the next tier up in performance for less money and still less power draw.
Yeh the 3070ti is a REALLY good value card (relative to others in this climate), especially if you're gaming at 1440p you simply dont need more. Its also a really good overclocker for more performance/ undervolter for more efficiency if you feel like doing that.

I find it absolutely bonkers that the 3080ti ($1400) with 10,240 cores only scores 150% faster than the 3060 12gb ($400) with 3,500. I guess I was luckier than I thought to score the 3060 from EVGA (Ti would be even better!) when I REALLY wanted the 3080...I certainly cannot justify shelling out for a better card from a value standpoint.
It should be 200% faster, and it's only 50% faster. If there's no CPU bottleneck, and the two cards are similar in clock speeds, I don't understand what's going on.
that's why I'm so hesitant on upgrading these days. I feel like monitors are out of gpu's league these days and there's not enough innovation to improve them (so we think 👁nvidia👁)
I am not an expert, but I am still learning about pc’s, cpu’s and gpu’s etc. If prices of gpu’s won’t get lower I am going to buy the 3060 ti. But if the prices do get lower I am saving more money for a 3080 ti (in my opinion, the 3080 ti is basically a 3090, it has a little bit less performance and it is much cheaper).

For the record; 90% of viewers claimed that anything beyong cinematic refresh rates produced headaches, and were happy to sacrifice any graphic fidelity under the sun to achieve an advertised resolution benchmark. As i see it The 3060Ti is relevant for the price.....the rest of the cards are nonsense! I have a 4k native ultrawide monitor and i play games at 4k with a RX480 8g :). So to spend 2000$ which is an astronomical amount of money on 3080TI /3090 to play 4k games at 60-70 FPS is nonsense! RX 480 doesn't even get 60 fps at native 1080p low in CP2077 , I have checked benchmarks. You are using FSR performance I believe to get 60fps at 1440p ultrawide to upscale from 720p ultrawide making the resultant image look worse than even native 1080p ? Your card sucks even for 1080p gaming in modern games and should have mentioned that you are upscaling. And those high end cards are for people who have money and they drive the market.

Love my rtx 3080 ti almost on par with the 3090
I got the 3090 Asus strix and water cooled it both sides with ekwb’s back in march last year.

What would perform better overall. A 3070 paired with a 5600x or a 3080 paired with a 5700g???
3080 paired with a 5700g
It certainly makes it look like anything more than a 3080 is a relative waste of money unless you're chasing bragging rights.
The next card up for me would have been a 3070 Ti, especially since they can be found for as little as $40 over a 3070.
and how is your 3060ti doing now? are you playing all new games on ultra settings 1440p with no problems?
I am looking for a 3070 TI to replace my 1070 TI, the TI variants are the better value. Give them a minor overclock and you get the next tier up in performance for less money and still less power draw.
Yeh the 3070ti is a REALLY good value card (relative to others in this climate), especially if you're gaming at 1440p you simply dont need more. Its also a really good overclocker for more performance/ undervolter for more efficiency if you feel like doing that.
@@AFCbailey Can you tell me if it's better to get 1080p monitor with that card because i saw that it can't reach near 144fps on 1440p so would it be bad for 1440p 144hz monitor then?
