Some tips - I started out totally paranoid about cracking the case - and using plastic pry tools to avoid scratches. Both plastic tools lost their edge in the attempt and it was really hard getting separation. Then I tried the slim rounded metal tool - very nicely polished and little chance of scratching. After that it was easy - metal tool was much stronger and had everything apart in seconds. I mention this in case someone goes through the same angst as me :-)

Hey Brother at least you had the stones to crack open the case, I'm the above comment , I have a Google Pixle C and am very paranoid myself as to try to crack open the case, and am very interested in the tool you used to open your tablet, I don't like plastic pry tools, and I'm afraid of using an exacto knife can you let me know the tool that you used I'm looking for any help I can get both repair shops I talked too, want a hundred bucks just to look at it cause they have to crack the case and it's a lot of work.

I just peel the case off by hand, no need for any tools other than a screwdriver for the screws.

This is a good guide to disassembling a Nexus 10. I followed instructions to disassemble mine, in order to replace the battery. The replacement battery works great now, but when I reassembled the N10, the touch screen didn't work, even though the display was good. This review describes how I fixed that, and how to avoid the problem in the first place.
After MUCH checking and rechecking cables & connections without success, I noticed that some subtle wiring on the inside of the backplate (the big thing you remove first) appeared to be damaged. I thought that there was a CHANCE that replacing that backplate would cure the touchscreen problem; if it didn't, all I could think of was replacing the screen (rare, and expensive). I ordered a backplate replacement for about $15, and that fixed it. Yay!
To avoid this misery, just be aware that there are some circuit traces on the backplate just above the camera cutout, running about 4 inches. So when removing the backplate with a tool, treat the corners as the video shows, but try not to lever the backplate up and off in that area above the camera cutout. I had inadvertently done subtle damage by not knowing that.

+Gael Curry do you have email please, i have a few question, mi right side touch screen does not work , what do you mean when saying backplate, i didn't understand you well, thank you

+keewee23 By "backplate" I mean the entire back cover of the tablet. The video shows how to pry it off of the main body, starting at one corner, and working around the tablet to each of the four corners. I think that if you only pry near the corners, you will be OK. But I pried up the backplate by putting a tool at the edge near the camera. When my tool went inside, it accidently cut some circuit lines that were on the inner side of the backplate. Those circuit lines must have controlled the touch ability, since a replacement backplate solved my problem. I conjecture that you might have cut half (perhaps) of the circuit lines by doing what I did, so that might be why only half of your touch screen works. For me, it was a gamble. Bet $15 for a new backplate, and maybe that fixes it. If not, well, not too expensive an experiment.

It looks so beautiful with the case open, with how all the components nicely fit together

Good video, thanks. Not too hard but getting the case apart is difficult. I found it a bit easier to connect the new battery then screw it in before reconnecting the ribbon cables. A feeling of relief when it worked!

Is it risky/difficult to remove the body from the rubber casing around it.Does it come off easily?. Is there a chance of screen cracking during the same?. Please clarify?.

That last step - when you remove the volume and power buttons...how would you a new volume and power button part back on there? You say it's held in by adhesive. Would I just glue the new one back in and connect the cable to the motherboard?
