My 14-year-old 90 lb standard poodle passed away recently. The last 6 months he was unable to walk well because of severe arthritis in his back legs. I had a harness on him and would have to pick him up and hold him up as he walked around the yard and then would go to the bathroom. Also in the middle of the night. I know exactly what you mean about being exhausted. I was working, taking care of my husband with dementia, trying to take care of the house, feeding the dogs and the cats and by the end of the day I was exhausted. You are an angel for taking care of that dog. The results are amazing, all because of you, he now has a good life.
Exhausting yourself before handling your pre-existing commitments to your already existing spouse, children, job, home, is mental illness, just like any other unhealthy obsession. Can you, or any other Woman doing this, see this for what it is?

I've had parrots, parakeets, guinea pigs rats horses dogs cats, turtles, even aquariums, -love them all. Aren't guinea pigs the best the way they squeal when you open the fridge for their treats?!
Thank goodness for her amazing foster and adopter, that was an enormous responsibility (and reward!). And thank goodness for the Rescue (Nat'l Great Pyrenees Rescue) that probably paid for her two knee reconstructions. If we're not able to take in a foster dog (or mom and litter...etc.) at least we can donate to a rescue, and/or share their stories to raise funds and find fosters. We can all help in our own way!
The most beautiful sight was Lily walking with her friends. It melted my heart. Thank you for doing this for her. She's so sweet and I'm happy for her.❤

Dogs always make me marvel. They can stay so happy in such horrible circumstances. Someone once said, "dogs know their mortality. They know their life is shorter, so they make the most of everyday". I cry over all my friends I have lost in my 44 years on Earth. I hope to see them again one day. RIP Bandit, Rocky, Lad, and Dexter. I will always love you good boys. I am going to go finish crying now.

My wife once brought home a part Doberman female. She had Ben left at the vets to be put down. She looked like a pile of raw meat. She had democratic mange. The owners did mouthing for her. Medicated shampoos got her healthy after 3 or 4 months but it kept coming back. She lived for another 12 or 13 years. A very happy and well behave dog. One of my favs of allow them.

So this dog was at the total mercy of humans, to even exist. She needed someone to help her to just survive. Not only did Tracy decide to take care of her, but also spend loads of money to enable this dog to not just survive, but walk properly again. Months of selfless effort, probably tens of thousands of dollars, and she was not even sure she would adopt her at that point. The selflessness of this person really impressed me! If karma is a real thing, then i hope she gets everything she deserves! May God bless you Tracy!
I want to express my gratitude to all the dog foster parents, like this woman, who dedicate their time and energy to help injured or disabled dogs prepare for a new home. My dog Tyr was hit by a car when he was 8 months old, breaking both legs and fracturing three ribs. Thanks to people who didn't give up on him, he recovered. During a difficult period in my life, Tyr found his way to me. Without a doubt, he gave me a reason to persevere. As I type this, he is right next to me, and we're looking towards the future together. Thank you to all those who aid our animal companions.
I am in tears watching this. Your dedication to this sweet dog is overwhelming. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for you refusing to give up on Lily. I do the best I can with the cats/kittens/pregnant soon-to-be mommies that people dump on the rural dirt road where I live. Over the 23 years out here, I've rescued countless felines, re-homed many and kept a bunch of the ones I just couldn't let go of. ❤️
