When adding scents is there a ratio you have found that works to your current recipe to make board butter? Could you use this on anything else other than boards?

The only ratio I use is for the wax to oil mix. Anything else is just a “follow your heart” kind of situation. I imagine you could use this on a wide variety of projects, but it lends itself best to food contact projects.

When adding scents or extracts, always use 100% pure essential oils, never synthetic.. Also, the best ratio range is 0.5% to 1.5% of the total product.. So if you're making a batch that is 80oz (64oz mineral oil + 16oz beeswax) you would add up to 1.25oz of essential oils.. Pure lemongrass extract is a great one to use..

I noticed that in the beginning shot you had a small bottle next to your crock pot. Looked like a doTerra bottle. I was curious if you could add oils to scent it. And if you do add doTerra… how much do you use?
    Thanks for sharing.

You have a very keen eye on all accounts. I will add just enough to give it a hint of orange. That amount will vary based on the amount to finish you make and how sensitive you nose is 🙂

So you didn't put the scent in that you had out earlier? Or the oil or whatever that was
