15:15 Thanks for mentioning me :) And yes, you can find a much better game than this one, released years ago for free, developed in OpenBOR. I recommend people to look for games made in OpenBOR - and even companies to take a closer look at these people, because there are a lot of talented people working with that engine. This game is a completely missed opportunity.
Adding such an obscure guest character (and 4 player) definitely deserves some praise. Someone on the dev team is obviously a big fan of the material to bother licensing such a niche title and trying to redo it for modern audiences. This isn't groundbreaking or anything but for $10 USD I can justify that price tag and get a couple hours of fun out of it, unlike the new GI Joe and Karate Kid games.
I think this is where some developers are failing on these remakes. They should be remaking them in 16:9 with more detailed sprites, and game options. These 2d anime graphics don't cut it.
It's weird how the blood splatter is the exact same with each enemy, but even weirder that it flies out of the boss in steel armor because he got kneed in the stomach.
Almost like it tried to look like sor4 but looked way to clean and 3d by comparison, the charm in it's violence is deep seeded in it's pixel art presentation.
i prefer the original pixel art graphics, this are very VERY ugly. Lucky i got to buy the original in the eshop before they removed it for like 1 dollar
I just brought it. Its pretty good to me and i also have the original on switch. Its not bad but great. Its on sale now for 4.99 on switch so i had some points and got it for 3 bucks lol. Not bad its a plus that its 4 player co-op now
The only company that is doing retro remakes right is Tango Project as they keep the original look and make improvements. You can't beat there remakes of Wild Guns, Pocky and Rocky Reshrined and Ninja Warriors.
I agree with you on how clean a lot of the characters look but when I watched gameplay of the original it seemed to be just as clean. I guess they were being loyal to the original but I do agree it’s odd to see a zombie with his arms ripped off & bloody stumps with a clean white shirt on.
Yeah, I have the same complain about the original too, but thanks to the HD graphics, it looks even cleaner, imo. I mean, for a remake, they could have done a better job with the enemies.
One thing that captured my attention of the game TFK is how well made it is. The details are so perfect that it's like the best brawler I've seen this year. WOW! Nice work as always bro. 8^) Anthony..
@@ЄвгенКорякін if they used the same structure of SH3 (exploration) for Night Slasher, maybe as a bonus mode that reuses existing assets, that would be something
Theyd probally have to change soundtrack on places for the 3D game and Namco really do nothing new with that series that last one was even cancled for Japan.
Let's be honest a bit here. I join the retro fans who said that the original game it were from another league at all, not only there are some frames skip in some moves, but it's the lack of feel and details that disappoint the most, I believe that it would have been better if they did release the og than this. The only "good" thing there is that the difficulty it is pretty well balanced, but aside that Night Slasher remake is a dull title on any level regrettably. What have you done on top of that where is an online co-op mode too devs?🤨 Because I am not going to play through these mediocres stages, without it.😒 Grabbing my Splatterhouse 1 copy and replaying a real splatter genre product for good. Thanks for the stunning review capt Savv!🤙🏻
Jakes design is phenomenal to this day! Hope the devs patch this and really polish the game. Yeah they should have the original arcade game playable with it, hat would helped a lot. Ppl could have at least gone and played the original if not felling the remake.
There is a good possibility because forever entertainment tends to be rather open to feedback as a publisher and often give devs a greenlight to make improvements.
@@beatemup Seems to be a trend with various games from Poland, many of them seem to have discords where they listen to suggestions and constructive criticism. Good trend.
It's OK, but I prefer the original & I love the excellent OpenBor version. I missed getting it when it was on the Eshop, so at least this is a playable version for Switch. Pity they didn't package the original with it. I also noticed the glitching and constant control setup defaulting, which was annoying.
You can find that as well as a plenty of others beat'em up on Antstream service, be aware that it requires a pay membership for it though. I hope it helps.
Man, that's sad to hear. I never played the original but I was interested in this game mostly because I'm a big fan of beat-em-ups in general and old-school sprite fames in particular, so anything that could throw some coins in an old games way and convince people it's a good idea to bring them back was a venture I'd like to support. Bit if ot's this big a down-grade... well, hopefully they can patch things up so it's more fubctional- for 10 euros I can buy a game like this but polished, inatead of having all these bugs.
they didnt add the intro lvl like on night slasher x or ash williams as a playeable character :'( ... i already got 1000G and holy .... it was harden than it suposed to be there was so many bugs ._. no imbensibility, on falling enemies still can hit you, enemies not in the same line as you can hit you, area damage atks not doing damage or hiting enemeis, sometimes enemeis can hityou 2 times in a row like the gian enemies with an axe ._. when they hit and shot the blue thing sometimes they can take like 90% of your HP.... someting that aws good for me its the IA of the enemies its really dumb you can do certain acctions and they will dont do try to hit you, everytime the game "loads go to hell" the character stop moving even if you are pressing the analog stick or controler arrows ._. .... but the game its good have potential if they fix all this issues the game would be bether and easy to get those 1000G
Thanks for the review. I hope they patch this game. Forever Entertainment did the same thing with their Panzer Dragoon and House of the Dead remakes. By the way, I think Wrath of Cobra comes out today as well. That demo also felt a bit rough. Have you got the chance to try the full version?
Dude, I am finishing the review right now. As you can see by the channel, it was a heck of a month. I am on my last drops of energy! lmao! Gimme a couple of hours, and it will be up!
I honestly don't care about this remake one bit. Ok, maybe a single bit as in I do care about how good the remix of stage 3's music is. It's one of the few chiptunes tracks I still listen to because I never found a remix online for it.
You can get both the original and the remake for like 10 dollars total on Switch. So don't worry too much if you're on the fence. It's less than a Baconator.
@@Fatal1ty_v2_UK they took all the Johnny Turbo’s Arcade games off the Switch eShop about 9 months ago. That was how I got the original Night Slashers. I’m sorry my friend I did not know this until you just asked. Didn’t think the licensing for Night Slashers was in the air like that.

How Liu Feilin of Fighters History end up in Night Slashers beyond me.
I knew she looked familiar.
Should of included the original arcade game too
And Online multiplayer mode too.
“Original is better than remake!"
Meanwhile, Night Slasher X (Openbor)
Can't disagree with you here.

I do prefer the OG and thank God for MAME. But I am surprised they added Feilin. So does that mean we get a Karnov Revenge.
If we do, and it’s from these people, I’m not optimistic about the end result.
@illustreightr2630 is not wrong. I would rather it's by a better studio.
It's weird how the blood splatter is the exact same with each enemy, but even weirder that it flies out of the boss in steel armor because he got kneed in the stomach.

Me too, the original 90s looks way better
I paid $0.34 since it was 50% here in the US on switch and had 465 gold points that I haven’t used yet.
