  • Hand Expert, Michelle from Virtual Hand Care, is here to show you how to buddy strap your broken or dislocated finger to protect your finger as it heals but also allow for early mobility.
Sometimes your doctor may allow you to use buddy straps, buddy loops, or tape your broken or dislocated finger to the finger next to an injured finger. This allows support while protecting the injured finger. Using these buddy loops are easy and comfortable to apply and best of all not sticky adhesive to deal with!

    Are you even medically qualified?

  • @frog-pocalypse846

What if you have the opposite problem. They call it a scissoring finger. It's my pinky and it's interfering with me working out, but I've looked and can't find a home remedy

Mam , should I move or bend my fractured finger after buddy taping it?

Hello...I had been hit forcefully by ebike from behind while walking on the pavement in the UK, and he ran away and left me nose bleeding, with multiple injuries, cut wounds and fractures of my nose and my left little finger at the proximal phalanx. it seems it was angulated and no one explained or told me, as the A and E nurse just gave those buddy tape and told me to apply without further explanation. after 3.5 weeks they saw me the first time at the fracture clinic and told me its late for the splint and as my little finger was all the way aligned to the ring finger and wasnt moving, now its stiff and impossible to move as well as painful. Ofcourse there is. bulge at the palmar side where the fracture located and I dont know what to do to move it. Its swollen at the site of the fracture like a sausage and I can only passively bend it a bit. I do soak the hand in hot water to ease the stiffness but actively I cant move or bend or grip at all. Pls advise as its really affecting me alot.

Two soft hair scrunchies to "buddy up" my little finger worked perfectly when I Needed something "in the moment'! I could remove and replace them easily when I needed to wash and I could make them as loose or tight as I needed.

I can’t make a fist. My pinky seems to be stiff. The bone under my pinky where my palm is is swollen.
