  • The 911 call from the pilot of the crashed F-35 jet was released. He can be heard asking dispatchers to send help after parachuting from the aircraft.
RELATED: Pilot ejects from F-35 fighter jet after crash landing in Texas • Pilot ejects from F-35...
Emerging details from a four-minute phone call made by a military pilot to an emergency dispatcher show he was pleading for medical help after he ejected from an F-35 fighter jet and into a South Carolina resident's backyard.
The resident of the home, in North Charleston, first tells the dispatcher: “We got a pilot in the house, and I guess he landed in my backyard, and we’re trying to see if we could get an ambulance to the house, please."

Calm down, you're hearing less than a minute of this call. If it's like my area dispatchers, she likely has questions she is required to ask for types of calls. I kinda doubt there's an "ejected from plane, don't know where plane crashed" option in her system. As for why she isn't immediately dispatching responders, she has to figure out what is needed. The priority is the pilot. Are there injuries? What caused the fall/ejection could have caused injury as well.
Then she needs to try for more plane information. I'm sure the government will be very much involved but again, not priority for the dispatcher. The responders will have to figure out where it crashed. Wrecked planes tend to be on fire, you're going to need Firefighters. She will also need to determine if EMS is required because the plane wreck could have hurt other people. If that's what my dispatch tells me, I need to know if my patients are on a highway or housing development or a variety of other possible variables.
In short, leave the poor woman alone. She's in uncharted waters and has a lot of things she needs to figure out very quickly. Especially since, as I said before, you're only hearing the first few seconds of this call.

Well, few airframes have been lost.
More than 1000 F35’s made now.
That’s more than Typhoon/Eurofighter, more than Rafale.
      Accident rates: (Class A rates)
      F15: 2.36 per 100,000 hours
      F-22: 5.49 per 100,000 hours
      F18: 2.84 per 100,000 hours
      F16: 3.45 per 100,000 hours
      Harrier: 11.4 per 100,000 hours
      F35: 1.30 per 100,000 hours
However, there is a LOT of F35’s now flying
In fact the F35 is the best-selling fighter in 40 years.
And more amazing? Well, they lost none during the testing phase.
And the F35 also has escaped the so called “bad” early years in which we often see high crash rates.
So, for example the bad “early” year for the F16?
They had a whopping 17 F-16 crashes in ONE year! (1982).
And even more amazing there are more F35’s flying now than when that bad early year occurred for the F16.
And even the fan favorite and loved F15 Eagle?
They saw eight (8) in one early year - 1978.
      And from 1995 to 1996, 10 F-14’s were lost. From 1991 to 1996, I believe the total is 30 F-14’s lost.
The F35 not really had that "worst early year", and given that over 800 F35's been made - that's more than any newer 4th gen jet right now.
To put it mild? The F35 clearly by HUGE margins has been shown to be one of the most reliable new fighters ever built, and most safe in terms of pilot’s fatalities.

Another one just crashed. Damn this thing keep getting crashed or something happens every few months. of course, only the things that go public and unable to hide we know of. I wonder if it is truly a huge, corrupted program that fooled other countries to buy this jet. But the so called "statistics" says otherwise

This is the 3rd or 4th ejected pilot in the last year. Something is wrong with the F35. Wonder what it is.

Lots of things but nothing critically wrong. It’s a new aircraft being adopted having its first generation of pilots trained, these are called teething issues and with 450 in service, losing about 1% of them isn’t exactly ground breaking. Go look up some older fighter aircraft and they all have some problems early on in service, usually getting hammered out within a few years

She had one job in this situation: escalate the call.
She is way out of her depth, her scripted questions dont apply, she is trained that the immediate step is to escalate the call to a more senior person. *sigh*
