The sheer pleasure of listening to beautifully written Victorian / Edwardian prose .!! Yes...they use long words and probably twice as many as we do to describe a character or situation but it just " feels " right. Listening to stories should be a leisurely experience - sitting in a comfortable arm chair by the glowing embers of a log fire - listening to the wind and the rain drops spattering the window while sipping a glass of vintage port. And savouring the elegance of the English language in its most refined form.....
