    This documentary is just amazing. I actually took notes! Ilse is a really good communicator, the words she chooses, the way she expresses her ideas is truly outstanding. Many of the things she said resonate with my own thoughts and she offered me many new points of view and futher personal analysis. I am a fan🤗

      Yes but why should we prioritize human needs?? Tell me a good reason why? Does the earth belong to us humans only? Who decided that? A designer? I think this designer has forgotten that we share the earth with a lot of other living creatures that are as important or even more important than humans are. There is no balance here in her work. So sad she has "prioritized" humans in this world and forgotten about the rest.

  • @catallaxy
    @catallaxy Год назад +3

    This video is really all about decoration and has nothing to do with design. Design isn't about people or well being, it is about bringing a vision into reality. Materials do not talk to each other. They are just things. The word design means: "Draw before you build." It does not mean more, or less. I only noticed some drawing, in the background. Another problem I have with this video is that there is no mention of the fact that interior decoration is exclusively for the rich people and not for the poor people, or even the middle class people! The intellectual niveau of this discussion is disappointingly low. Don't get me wrong. I am a fan of the series. There should be a distinction made between design and decoration, which this video completely ignores.

    Nice one. But taking the bark without damaging the trees…? That’s a nice tale to tell your customers, but without the bark insects and pests can much easier invade the tree. The tree has to close it therefore…it’s like taking a piece of skin.

    • @jgprice9990
      @jgprice9990 2 года назад

      Bark grows back. It naturally sheds its “Skin” every few years when the growth of the tree means the trunks girth is wider and so the outer layer of bark falls off. It also doesnt take much time for a tree to heal itself. If you cut yourself, within a few hours your white blood cells will have created a barrier to prevent infection. The same is in plants and trees but takes maybe a week or two but even so a tree isnt stupid, it knows to handle when its attacked.
