  • Guided Breathing of Yi Jin Jing 易筋經 / ИЦзиньЦзин (Muscle and Tendon Transformation), recommendation: 18 minutes per day / 100 days long. These exercises are strengthening the frame (body), increasing flexibility and resilience.
Shaolin Yi Jin Jing is a method to develop strong and flexible muscles and tendons. It is therefore also called "Muscle and Tendon Change Classic".
The 12 Exercise / Posture Names are:
    1) Wei Tuo Presenting The Pestle (Frontways)
    2) Wei Tuo Presenting The Pestle (Sideways)
    3) Wei Tuo Presenting The Pestle (Upwards)
    4) Plucking Stars On Each Side
    5) Pulling 9 Cows By Their Tails
    6) Displaying Claws and Spreading Wings
    7) 9 Ghosts Drawing Swords
    8) Placing 3 Plates On The Floor
    9) Black Dragon Shows It's Claws
    10) Tiger Jumping On It's Prey
    11) Bowing Down In Salutation
    12) Swinging The Tail
It belongs to the classic repertoire of Qi Gong exercises in the Shaolin Arts around the globe. Together with the 8 brocades (Ba Duan Jin) and the meditative circular movements (Chan Yuan Gong) it gives a strong foundation to complete all martial exercises.
Every year there are several retreats that are taking place in the Shaolin Temple Europe 歐洲少林寺, the monastery where I am living.
A retreat can either be a 3-day Retreat (Friday - Sunday) or a 6-day Retreat (Monday - Saturday). Every retreat is held under a specific topic, such as: Gong Fu, Qi Gong (e.g. Ba Duan Jin, Yi Jin Jing, 13 Luohan), Meditation retreats and Rou Quan retreats.
If you are interested in joining any of these retreats, please take a look at all dates that are published on the website of the monastery:

i have been doing the older version ...16 min+, just about have it memorized. This one has breathing, which i do appreciate and mostly follow, but the ghost drawing swords just seems back ward i can not breathe in the folding down movement only can exhale ?? is this possibly out of synchronization? My second complaint :) is that the photography is awful the light and shadow make it nearly impossible to see, the dark clothes disappear in the shadows and shifu is not near the center nor in good light. I am 21 days into a gong (108 days) on the other video. I will complete that gong April 17th. Thank you for posting these, they have improved my meditations as well as flexibility. ( 79 year old tai ji / qi gong for 35 years)

I am deeply troubled. I mean no disrespect. But this must be a beginner's guide, for participants who have not yet created sufficient 'space' at the hips. The sitting lacks so much of the nuances and subtle aspects of the yi jin jing video of last year (which I deeply enjoy). The 'sitting' appears to be so much in the knees, whereas last year's was a perfect example of the work on the sacrum & spine.
But who am I to criticize, for a master I am not and I ask your foregiveness. Time for me to practice. Please keep the video of last year online.

    • @ShaolinTempleEurope
      @ShaolinTempleEurope  6 лет назад +6

Thank you for your comment. It's exactly that. A beginner's guide. Breathing patterns can be very different depending on the intensity, depth of your mental work. We'll keep all videos online, because none of them is better then the other. Same same but different.

Once I tried this 易筋, I felt that the smooth movement of my body linked to the breathing, which is easier and much comfortable than the quick exercise. I realize my weakpoint of my movement, so I try this idea rather than urged by miscellaneous instructions.

A thousand years ago, great thinker from East to West realize that human body is a tiny universe. but modern treat it as trash container of chemical rather than to enhance it and harvest its great potential healing both physical and mental. No wonder now governments around the world consider a human as "Capitals" of society for making money for certain group.
So thankful Shaolin Temple Europe spread the most value acts of human for every one who intend to search for the truth.

Thank you very much 师父,阿弥陀佛!This indeed a fantastic and clear display of the Yi Jin Jing. It would be even better if it is narrated through out for easy follow for a beginner like myself. As it is, I have to keep my eyes on the screen to follow the steps, hence cannot perform each form to the maximum.

I love the music . Is there a way to find out any information on it? Also, immense gratitude for all that you do. Your youtube videos help so many of us in small towns and faraway places that would not otherwise have access to your inspirational teachings. They give light where there is darkness, hope where there is despair. May you be well, may you be helped and healed in any ways you might need.

@@ShaolinTempleEurope Thank you, do you mean I can find these forms in your online web? I've already enrolled in the Self-Mastery programme and Shu Jing Gong, but cannot find Yi Jin Jing and the 13 Luohan Hands! I found your free videos in your RUclips chain but without explanations. If you have them, thank you for including the exact links here! I would be glad to enroll in these courses. @ShaolinTempleEurope

The movement and breath have to be in harmony with each other, which is archieved by pure calmness. Never force the breath, let it be 'free and beautiful', don't follow into the trap of pranayama.

The inhales and exhales are too fast, all you're doing is building bad air in your lungs without expelling it, it has to be a bigger draw in and longer release, you're just doing rapid breathing, i never breathe this fast even when running, not relaxing, not healthy at all.
