Good table top review. I like Kimber 1911's, I have two and they are excellent out of the box. My Pro Raptor II and Stainless II both in .45 acp have been great. My Stainless II does have a couple changes, I installed LOK Grips, a Wilson Combat GI Guide Rod and Flat recoil spring and I blacked out the rear sights and painted the front sight with bright green sight paint. What are your impressions on the black oxide finish? Im hearing its either carbon steel or occasionally stainless underneath but that the black doesnt hold up.
Take care of your guns and it should be OK. If it comes off, refinish it with something else. Just do your research on the particular gun with it because different companies have different ways and quality standards
