Uhm.... Somebody is a Pentax H8er, maybe. He does not even reviews Q10 and Q7 or Q lens 06. meh.... Maybe Leica or Nikon holders are entitled to be called Photographers or enthusiasts, from 'someone's point of view.
Its a fun camera fits in your pocket enjoy it for that
if you want quality images over fun go for Sony rx100 and pay loads more money
this camera you will keep on you all day long and will make you smile taking pics with it :)

@Buzzybros If you've checked the other videos then you might have found out that my first SLR was a Pentax and that I actually do like Pentax the brand. At 8:35 I also mention that "I actually want Pentax to do something good", which is not a slur against the brand or their other DSLRs, I'm saying that I want them to create a good product. If you really think I'm bashing the Q for the sake of it then perhaps you should try it yourself.

The flash goes up like that so it can get further away from the axis of the lens making the light less harsh AND less red eye. Its actually a pretty great decision compared to the alternative.

The lag was because he was shooting in exposure bracketing mode and he kept shooting until the buffer filled up. No wonder he thought it was laggie.
Eh people where dumb dumbs 7 years ago, in sure he's learned since then.

At the initial price of around $800 USD it was a horrible camera in my opinion because you are definitely paying for the size. the current price is in the $250 range and I think it's worth it. I got REALLY lucky and bought the last display model recently for $60 with no charger and a tiny blemish on the lens housing. Best $60 ever spent. this will be my "point and shoot" camera now. My Nikon P7100 was just too big anyway
It's been really popular the past 5 years for people into high magnification/long distance photography. You can adapt these onto various telephoto lenses and focus in on faraway subjects better due to the really narrow field of view from the small sensor, aka high crop factor.
You just need a lens with reasonably sharp optics though since it will be directing more resolving power over just a tiny concentrated portion of the glass instead of spread all over like a full frame sensor would.

@1stghostshadow aha that's a RUclips glitch, so many videos get stuck at about 300 views for a while. Digitalrev is one of the most subscribed channels on RUclips, views usually go 50,000+. I guess the reason people complain about having to wait for videos, is because Digitalrev release their videos erratically, you never know when the next one is coming. I also get withdrawal symptoms :P. I can see both sides of the argument though, and your point is valid.
Hello there, have you tried "Photo SFXart Tricks" (just do a Google search for it...)? There you can watch a useful free video explaining the way to shoot amazing photos. This made it easier for Daniel to take photos that have that jaw-dropping-effect whenever you take a look at them. Perhaps it will help you out as well.

@tongtong83 You can check out my review and see more examples of the AF performance. No it's not that bad, but since it is using Contrast detect AF, it's not going to be as fast as an SLR focus. It's usually under 1 second. :

I'd like to see some different lenses used on this like some cctv lenses, and telephoto lenses. I mean if 8mm is equivalent to 47mm Imagine a 300mm lens or even a 800mm lens. :D

@SerienchiIIer I owned the K-r and it does feel very cheap. Therefore, I have to agree with Kai on that. And the kit lens' build quality is pretty poor too, and also you have to mention the focus issue that the camera had.
Some bad/gd points might be exaggerated for entertaining purposes, or should i call it sarcasm? And Kai bashes all brands including Canon & Nikon too. And even you admitted the Q was a mistake so how can u conclude that he hates Pentax?
@Buzzybros I think you have a valid point. they have reviewed the worst cameras made from the pentax brand. if they were to review the k5 (a fantastic camera), The camera has better very equal (if not better) image quality to the nikon d7000, the same fps as the canon 7d and is able to hold glass that is close to matching canons, you will see that you have been missing out.
@DigitalRevCom please look at the full product-range before guessing there are no good camera made from Pentax.

I think he missed the point of this camera. Because it's a mirrorless doesn't mean it should be compared to the PEN or GF3 cameras. It's more similar to the awesome Ricoh GRD, but with better IQ, and interchangeable lenses. The Q is an excellent camera for street photography, IQ is quite good, and the fun factor is this small camera is huge.
People hate on the Q too much. It is the first in a series of cameras so of course there are going to be problems and limitations. While it is overpriced, is there really an other camera out there that combines all of its features at the same price point? The Q is unique and that is its strength and weakness.
It looks like more of a gimmick than a real thing. Why would you need an interchangeable lenses for such a compact camera? Why is this better than high-end point and shoot? I doubt that you can see a difference with that small sensor.. Isn't that just an inconvenience? It looks good though.. I'm a sucker for retro style. :)

@AbdoHad90 Well, get yourself a full frame format or a medium format if you're on sensor size.
This presenter is quite inept at doing a Pentax review (more of a Pentax bashing). He is more focused on an ego trip with a side of bias for other cameras, *cough Olympus *cough, even had the gall to show himself holding an Olympus while on a Pentax review. I mark this review as a failure.
Kinda sad, because if canicon revs are made, they just do it without this amout of sarcasm. I get that Kai is not a pentax fan, but please - the k-01 rev was even worse. They focused only on the yellow-ish colour, not picture quality etc.
Hope the k-30 rev will be better!
Hi there, have you tried "MagicSFXphoto" (search on Google for it)? On their website you will find a nice free video explaining how you can make awesome photos. This helped Matt to create photographs which have that wow-effect any time you look at them. It might help you also.
I was going to ask why is Kai dressed like a mong, then noticed the end title... so yah... sorry about that. Go the Armoury! :D If the Armoury is funding Digital Rev videos then dress Kai up like a mong for as long as you like if it means videos keep getting made :)
@richard2point0 I would rather have some information on how the camera actually works, like for instance how does it compare to a normal compact camera?
Yet questions like that are left out, instead you get a very long video with very little actual review and quite a lot of nonsense.
full frame? this camera has practically the sensor of a smartphone (joking), aps-c would be enough, the eosM and the xpro1 has aps-c, the 4/3 format and nikon 1 format are not so smaller... come on, a 8mm is like a 47mm on 35mm it's ridicoulus

I think digitalrev should make Miss Intern permanent!!! She doesn't have to speak, just stand beside Kai or Lok l and can always use her as a model if needed to!!! Anyone agrees please thumbs up!!!!
Is focusing speed really bad? I was thinking of getting it. I see refresh rate of the camera is quite lag. No hard feeling, just like to know more before making a decision... Cheers

One of the worst cameras reviewed on DRTV without a doubt. Looks ugly, specs are disappointing and it's sloooow.
Why would you not the a review of PENTAX K5? Probably got nothing else to do anyway;p until D400/D800 comes out.
