- Defence Minister Richard Marles says the defence’s budget is “expanding significantly”.
Mr Marles said we are seeing an “additional $50 billion” over the next ten years.
“There are very, very significant increases in defence spending which are of a historical scale.
“Part of our focus needs to be on what is happening in the world; we are very much focused on our region as we should be.
“But you cannot be focused on the region without having an eye to the world.”
I don't think spending on gender affirming surgery should count as defence spending, even though it helps meet gender based Quotas

Marles is utterly full of it. REAL increases in our defence spending which we need right now, won't kick in, literally for years.
It won’t even keep up with inflation.

Not even replacing all the old equipment - that all three services - currently have - that should have been replaced in the last ten years. Labor love talking about - nothing. Unless there is a plan to triple the number of people in uniform.
And take Israel. Has an military of around - 400,000 - 600,000 people. And they live in a very small area.
Tells you how delusional frequent flier marles is. Just the sheer size of Australia - you can could easily have a 500,000 personnel army - and you would still not see many people in uniform. Once you spread them out over Australia.

How much of the equipment is broken down. And you can go across the Air Force - they are a total mess. The F-35 is to expensive - is not a front line fighter. And labor has not told you - they have cancelled - the the rest of the F-35 order. And they were getting rid of the F/A - 18's.
Submarines out of date. Most navy ships to old. No anti missile capacity - on any level - air - surface - ground vehicles. We don't even have Dad's army.
