As someone who owns a 14 stem 6yr old monstera that is in full intense light all day in the UK, I can 100% tell you that the more light and climbing opportunities you give this plant (obviously you have to slowly move it into bright light, as in took me 6 months) the more light it gets the faster it grows and the bigger the fenestrations become, mines leaves are almost the size of my torso now and have center holes as well as side splits
I water every 2 weeks ish, and feed regularly (worm casting and fish bone) I haven't repotted it for atleast 2 years and it is ridiculously happy and grows all the way through winter lol
Shows how different some peoples care routine is in comparison to recommendation, if your routine works for you and your plant than keep at it 💚

These are probably the most useful and informative plant videos I've seen. I've been looking for some more professional, detailed advice, rather than the typical hobbyist "influencer" videos, and you guys did a great job!
I'd love to see a video on with advice on keeping a Philodendron 'Congo Rojo'. I have a rescue plant I picked up that had been discarded and it's grown quite long and leggy, with widely-spaced leaves. I'd like to see something on Rhapis excelsa as well. Skål!!

I started expanding my houseplant hobby about 3 years ago. My monstera has done wonderfully. Before I ever saw your videos, I just did a lot of on-line search. And it just happened that the only room my monstera could be in, was in front of a huge north-facing window. It grew quickly. I've got about 25 gorgeous fenestrated leave on it. Even this winter, it continues to push out new beautiful leaves. Almost all of the leaves are bigger than my face. I've only used a water-soluble fertilizer in spring. But during this winter, the only nutrition I feed it, is worm castings. I think my plant loves it. 💖

I am a fan of cutting to propogate (and give them away as gifts) to diminish the wild (although beautiful) bushy appearance. They propogate beautifully with the leave still in tact, as the aerial roots propogating in water create wonderful results.

I did like you said and put a lava rock false bottom in my pot and overtime it become time to repot!! When I removed the plant The Roots had grown deep into the rock and we're thriving in the water of the false bottom and I mean the big lush root growth growing in standing water!! I'm a little hesitant on the idea that without good drainage this plant is prone to rot , I have also grown these out of water in a fish tank!!!!! The plant loves water just Absolutely thrives in a wet humid environment and that is from my experience!!!

Thank you very much for the information. I purchased a small monstera last year and it has grown more than double the size, it still has a little while to go before the leaves split. Although the plant is beautiful and green with no brown spots or edges I felt that the plant has been lacking something for a while, I now know that it's the humidity ( I live in Scotland ). I am now going to give it a good spray with water more often. I'm sure my plant will be happier and more beautiful thanks to you 💖😊. I have gone through roughly 2 monsteras and I was getting so frustrated because everyone says it’s the easiest plant to care for, (which made me feel like I was a terrible plant parent even though I was trying with all my might). Excellent video. I bought a great Monstera D in a 11 inch Pot which was very nice when I purchased. But it was a very cold days 31st December when I had bought. I did not wrap any paper or plastic around, since I had not seen this video, but brought it home in the car on a really cold day. Its just 9 days to date, and I did exactly the opposite to what you mentioned in the channel. Placed it at a South Facing large window with more sunlight, watered almost every alternate day, and the conditions are dry where with no moisture. As a result, the all the beautiful large leaves have turned brownish and wilted.. but there is life left for sure. After this video I am trying to save it, let me see if I am successful. Thanks for this video.

I have three local grocery stores that I have bought most of my indoor plants from. Most of the time, the tag just says 'tropical'. Jump online to see if I can figure out what I just bought. Last night, I found a 'tropical' that looked interesting and that I didn't have yet. Was on my way home when I thought 'Monstera'. Uh oh. I've seen videos with huuuuge Monstera's. So I did scare myself. What did I just do? Read some stuff online. Watched a few videos. But was never exactly sure what I just bought until I saw this video. Mine looks exactly like the smallest one that was talked about. Before the 'adams rib aka swiss cheese' leaf shows up. Okay. Not quite as scared as I was last night anymore. Awesome video. Really helped explain things clearly.

I found a monsterea plant in with another plant. I'm thankful I found your video. I absolutely love my baby. I cannot wait to see if my monsterea leaf will grow roots and other parts of its growth after! Because I couldn't find it's roots in With the other plant witch I know they are hiding in with the other plant. So I know I'll have a surprise monsterea plant growing with my other plant eventually. I couldn't be happier. I've been trying so hard to find a monsterea plant from other people. Because of how I could never find them. And finally got lucky not long ago. And I now have one.

I grow this plant out-of-doors in north central Florida. It gets a *lot* of rain. It also, occasionally, gets quite cold here 17-20 degrees for short periods of time. My monstera continues to thrive. In fact, my experience of philodendrons is that they like water. A lot.
