If the Darkness had never existed, this would be amazing stuff, but when I see Dan in such magnificent form it just makes me wish he was back in the studio with Justin.
Watch Dan Hawkins as a solo guitarist, as master as a rhythm guitarist. Showed this to a K-Pop die hard fan who never listened to any type of non-computerized music or watched people holding instruments, she was super super super obsessed with Dan's playing, literally said: "The way he controls his playing is a kind of magic". Dan, you make "Stones" speak!
Great to see Dan again. He's a very talented guitarist, one of the best youngins around today. This song is fantastic. These guys are gonna be bigger than The Darkness
I think this is better than the studio version! I'd love to see this version of the song on the next album, if it's ever released. I'd also love to see these guys back together, co-existing in the same world as The Darkness. Heck, maybe they can tour together.
i absolutely adore this song. I played it to my Dad and sister and they liked it too, and they don't normally like this kind of music so that proves it's something. Can't wait for the album. See you on the 30th at Norwich Waterfront =].
seeing these tonight along wiv black stone cherry and sevendust what a fucking awsome night get to see my 3 time fave bands all under one fucking roof woop de fucking doo
This song is one of their best and probably their most diverse and well written. I'm so glad Dan gets to solo now and Justin isn't hogging the spotlight like he did towards the Darkness's latter days. No offense to them or Justin cause they rocked too! :D
sadly i didnt get to see sevendust my dad got us lost on the way n we got there an hour late n sevedundust had just gone off the stage was well pissed off it was sevendust stone gods what where fucking awsome live then black stone cherry came on they where amazing i got 2 guitat picks and a drum stick lol stood at the frount
This song is amazing. Weird i dont know if its me but this kinda reminds me of Stereophonics/Manic Street Preachers. Amazing hope I get a chance to see these gig sometimes.
I have to say, i thought they wukd be dissapointing, but after listening to this, i have to say i am impressed!! nothing like the darkness, but as previously said, thats a good thing. the acoustic works rely well.
It took me maybe about a year or so to finally appreciate Stone Gods. . This song's a beauty with great guitars, lyrics, and vocals. . However, I still think this could have been majorly improved with some proper Justin Hawkins/Matt Bellamy esque falsetto around 3:18 as well as 3:49-3:52. You can tell Richie fizzles around 3:51 and settles for a rather pedestrian "woo". . I think it's also cool to note that the riff at 4:04 to 4:07 resembles one of the final riffs from 'Love is Only a Feeling'
Watch an Exclusive interview with Stone Gods and hear Dan and Toby's Top Tips on how to get signed and make it as a band. Catch Ditto Music Live, Thursday 8-9pm on SKY180 (Red TV)
@xmertic I hope you realise that Dan Hawkins was cut and pasted directly from the Darkness. And therefore the man cannot just change, his songwriting remains the same, and so in essence it is obvious that elements (particularly guitar-wise) were 'cut and pasted' from the Darkness.
forgot to say i really love this song, makes me regret that i didn't came up with this tune! and as response to previous reactions including requests for dans solo/the guitar to be electric i say no way! it would take the purity out of the song! if i would be the producer of the album i'd take this version unpolished straight on the cd!
To increase your chances of doing well, you need to be innovative and take risks. I have heard two songs from these guys so far and I haven't heard evidence of this. The only risk they've taken is to continue their journey after the Darkness. Just sounds like a song you'd hear at the pub really.
this song reminds me of the velvet revolver song don't drop that dime of the libertad album! though this might have more of the english country side touch to it! a bit like led zeppelins folk songs(more poplike though)
i never knew that the darkness split into other groups. i just thought they disappeared. this is great.totally different to their previous stuff whereas justin hawkin went off to form.....well...the darkness really. hotleg is the same!!!
Thats sooooooo true man!!!! all the good new bands are NOT form America. now that I think about it, most of the classic bands I like are not American either lol I'm from America by the way
Criminally underrated band. Forgotten by most but never by me
This is so good. Why can't we not have both, stone gods and darkness 😢
The new album is Amazing! I loved the darkness, but once you hear this full album it will not disappoint!
***I became ADDICTED to this song immediately!! I would sell my soul for acoustic version of "Magdalene Street" .. THANK YOU, STONE GODS! *****
brilliant song great musicians
abloutely great... I love that sound...
Brilliant version of this great song...top notch.
Love the acoustic version
I Love this song...

Jesus loves you.. Jesus coming soon..No one can escape from judgement day of God.. Jesus loves you.. Jesus loves you abundantly ❤️❤️💯
I would like the hear the bassist sing alone in one song. He has a very nice voice!
This song is amazing
Great to see Dan again. He's a very talented guitarist, one of the best youngins around today. This song is fantastic. These guys are gonna be bigger than The Darkness
How I wish that statement had been true
such a beautiful song :)
What an amazing song! Must catch this band live...
Beautiful! Crushed the Stone Gods are no more, just when album 2 was nearing completion. How they came to be and ceased to be is ultimately tragic :'(
BRING BACK THE DARKNESS
this band does rule tho. Bought the album and Hotleg's Album
BRING BACK THE DARKNESS STILL!!
I think this is better than the studio version! I'd love to see this version of the song on the next album, if it's ever released. I'd also love to see these guys back together, co-existing in the same world as The Darkness. Heck, maybe they can tour together.
commercialking Might be a bit tireing for dan to be both the support and main act but otherwise agree!
Wow! Absolutely wonderful song.
i absolutely adore this song. I played it to my Dad and sister and they liked it too, and they don't normally like this kind of music so that proves it's something. Can't wait for the album. See you on the 30th at Norwich Waterfront =].
Hot leg, stone gods, blah blah blah. Just loving all the great music out there. Keep it up lads.
i was thinking of words, and as it was flying around i thought of a home for it . this song is simply epic:D

This song is amazing. Weird i dont know if its me but this kinda reminds me of Stereophonics/Manic Street Preachers.
Amazing hope I get a chance to see these gig sometimes.
Well Holy Shit!!! As a huge fan of The Darkness I am regretful and ashamed that I never check these guys out!!! they sound FUCKING AMAZING!!!!
This song is very alive.
Good song
I have to say, i thought they wukd be dissapointing, but after listening to this, i have to say i am impressed!! nothing like the darkness, but as previously said, thats a good thing. the acoustic works rely well.

Yeah... "breakdown" and "heartburn" you can hear them on their website... really good!!

I wish they stayed together instead of reforming The Darkness....I got hooked on them because of Darkness but I got to like it even more.

Don't know where they are trying to make the song, did you mean were? It's an awesome song, got a very up beat vibe about it.
top !!!
Ned schlecht! echt geil sogar, was der gittarist auf die beine gstellt hat.
Wow lol
Very different from Burn the Witch, but very very good in its own way. And Ritchie has a fantastic voice.
I can't wait for the EP and album!
f'n great song and performance, when is the album out?

i miss dan and justin together....
Some songs are harder then others. I figured out "Brought a gun to a knife fight" in like 10minutes. But this song is tuff for me at least
i seen them when they were supporting Airbourne and Black Stone Cherry, fucking amazing likes :D x
Super
cazzo ma allora du Dan è vero un mostroO!!!!!braviiiiiI!!!:)
is this song going to be on the EP?
Does anyone know when their new album is in Australia? Or is it already? I haven't seen it anywhere in Australia.
What are the lyrics to this song i cant find them anywhere!!
I know about a 1/4 of this song. Im still trying to figure it out! as soon as i do or i find someone who has i'll let you know lol
como se parecen dan y justin hawkins!!
al principio he confundido a dan con justin, que pasada!

exelente...1a
Is this the same group that does "Burn the Witch"? which is a pretty good heavy metal tune
+AmIonArock Yes.
This was on the same album too just a slightly different version
this song reminds me of the velvet revolver song don't drop that dime of the libertad album! though this might have more of the english country side touch to it! a bit like led zeppelins folk songs(more poplike though)
i never knew that the darkness split into other groups. i just thought they disappeared. this is great.totally different to their previous stuff whereas justin hawkin went off to form.....well...the darkness really. hotleg is the same!!!
a very good song, i think.
Thats sooooooo true man!!!! all the good new bands are NOT form America. now that I think about it, most of the classic bands I like are not American either lol I'm from America by the way
Total Urination.
Kinda gotta agree....
hey does anyone have the lyrics 2 this song
