When you first think of Ham it’s easy to focus on how he’s a locker room guy, leader, good story. But the dude makes plays when it counts too. Great special teamer and picks up blitzes like a dawg. Worth a couple mil. Plus - anytime he catches a pass it’s a party!
I agree 100% re Josh Oliver. He's a really great asset, both in the run & pass game, so he *must* return. And I'd really like to see CJ Ham back, ideally with a reworked deal Brian O'Neill *must* return, but with a restructured contract. The other 3... buh-bye! (unless Brandel & Ingram are considered good enough to be a back-up) If Kwesi A-M and Rob Brzezinski can find a way to keep most players back AND free up $100 million, then I see no reason for Kwesi A-M not signing free agents to fill at least 2 out of 3 iOL spots AND a stud CB. Then, if the Vikes can draft the ideal guy for the iDL, a promising RB, and add depth. the Vikes would be ready to rock'n'roll next year. (...ideally, one of the guys Kwesi signs/drafts can be a dangerous punt return man, as that is needed as well..) SKOL!
The thing I saw Ham do the most in the offense, towards the end of the season, is pass block in shotgun formations when AJ had some nagging injuries. I have loved having Ham on this team, and yes, he is a locker room leader and special teams stud. I’m wondering when the roster spot he takes up is more valuable to another position. Oliver needs to stay, he should’ve been a full time TE2 and never shared snaps with Mundt in my opinion. Bradbury should go if you get who you want in FA. Ingram is an interesting one in my opinion. Leaning towards cutting him and spending big on O-line in FA. Brandel will probably be back
Yes I agree on Bradbury being one casualty. Definitely need a bigger center that doesn't get pushed over , time to strengthen up that 0 line to protect JJ McCarthy
I would hate to see CJ Ham not being on this team next year but I think he knew that he probably won't be back. I saw a footage of Ham being very emotional after the loss to the Rams. I think he knew that either his career with the Vikings is over or that his NFL career is done.
Josh Oliver has potential and should be retained for another year if not three year deal. He is a great blocker I have seen and then goes out and catches the ball
There’s very few guards and centers out there better than what we have,,,Bradbury and Ingram are under contract through next season and will remain on the team until then….doesn’t mean they start,,
The reason Ham is not used the way he was when we had a good running game is that we don't have a good running game. The offensive line is to small. They used to have some bulls on the line and when they were pushing on the other team they where aware of it.
Need start using a full back in running game next season...need have plays you have two running backs and full back on the field next in the running game something like that....
Oliver and Ham should def both be back. Brandel had his first full season as a starter, so I would give him a semi-pass, if not a solid backup again. Bradbury and Ingram can waive
Josh Oliver is highly underrated as a receiver, keep him for sure. Brandel on a restructured, lower contract for depth. Ham needs to retire here for nostalgia reasons. Ingram and Bradbury can find work outside of MN for all I care.
Keep Ham and Oliver. Extend Oliver 3 years at a lower salary, Ham is worth it as a offensive piece, And great on special teams, Keep him one more year.
Cut all five. Re-sign Mundt for 2-3 million, Akers for 2, Sherfield for 2, and Najee Thompson is back to lead special teams. That saves about $10 million to spend on Oline, DT, or CB. IF Jurgens and Rouse or Byrd are ready for back up roles just clear out those that didn't work.
I think Josh Oliver is too valuable as a lineman and a receiver (even though he gets barely any targets). There is no reason to cut him other than money, and money isn't an issue. 5 million is too little of a save to just throw away that much value.
Fan of 45 yards and 4 tackles? You keep a FB and have a ton of red zone issues. Sure, Oline not good but Ham is no help. O'Neill new contract, Oliver new contract, goodbye to the rest.
@@joshescalante4300 8 years on the roster and no one thought to stop wasting his immense production capabilities. I was not aware of the unfair treatment. Nah
@aaronshields6353 would you rather have a stud special teamer or more cap to sign someone who can keep your Qb clean . Besides darrisaw the o line was a disaster
love ham but if you arent going to use him then cut him and use that money to keep akers who can do everything ham does and more and as for josh oliver and blake brandel theyre non negotiable for me id keep them for sure even if they both end up back ups for the rest of their vikings careers they bring good veteran depth and good spot starters if someone needs a break or if injury hits
Nahh not Oliver, he’s a stud.
agreed, would like to see more of him in the passing game as well
Came here to say this. You can tell he has the heart of a dawg in him. Strong and has hands, perfect blocking TE 🤷
I like Oliver but we are paying so so much to the tight end room and I think Hock will be a godsend for JJM.
We will still need backups at guard. Keep Brandel if he can be a swing player
Cut Garrett Sadbury!
Josh Oliver would be the guy you would resign because he has made clutch plays this year and would be a great addition to the revamped line.

The Vikings working on an elite running back
I would hate to see CJ Ham not being on this team next year but I think he knew that he probably won't be back. I saw a footage of Ham being very emotional after the loss to the Rams. I think he knew that either his career with the Vikings is over or that his NFL career is done.

I think all those guys will still be here next year. Cant wait to have this conversation again a year from now lol
Let's Go Vikings!! Skol! 🏈💜💛
Take Josh Oliver and CJ Ham off this list
Need start using a full back in running game next season...need have plays you have two running backs and full back on the field next in the running game something like that....
I've been saying that all season. Use CJ more....
Trade hockenson, Oliver showed he can catch and is a better blocker while being cheaper
I think of the group, I would live to see them Keep oliver and Ham
Oliver and Ham should def both be back. Brandel had his first full season as a starter, so I would give him a semi-pass, if not a solid backup again. Bradbury and Ingram can waive
If they don't do something about this offense line I'm going to need therapy. Anger management for sure.
You cannot get rid of Ham! Complete locker room guy. For what he costs worth every penny.
I think Brandel is worth keeping. He was serviceable when Darrisaw was playing. I also think Oliver should stick. Ham, Ingram, and Bradbury can go.
If we cut Oliver, Bradburry, and Ingram we would have 11 million to sign a good guard.
Ham is the only one I would keep! Maybe Josh Oliver! The rest, gotta go!
“Make FBs great again.” Lol. Amen.
What really is our cap space? Seeing different numbers on spotrac and over the cap, and not as much as being discussed. Just curious
Keep Oliver. If the O line gets upgraded he will even be better. I Love CJ but he had 3 carries and 5 receptions so I don’t know?…
I think ham had a block punt early season
We should've never let Wyatt Davis go. I never saw an issue with him on the field
Trade hockenson keep Oliver
Nope, need both. 👍
Luv Ham but time to move on! Vikings need to get faster and younger!
I'd keep CJ Ham, but Josh Oliver needs to get his salary restructured.
Ed Ingram Garrett Bradbury Blake Brandel Josh Oliver and CJ Ham Cut. Trade T.J. Hockenson for a 5th round draft pick.
Keep ham.the rest are no big loss
I think Josh Oliver is too valuable as a lineman and a receiver (even though he gets barely any targets). There is no reason to cut him other than money, and money isn't an issue. 5 million is too little of a save to just throw away that much value.
it would suck to loose Ham
100% we cut Brandel & Ingram right? Use their savings to sign a guard.
Cut the whole list except Oliver and Brian
Oliver? 😂 ok great value p.a.
Fan of 45 yards and 4 tackles? You keep a FB and have a ton of red zone issues. Sure, Oline not good but Ham is no help. O'Neill new contract, Oliver new contract, goodbye to the rest.
Nah, Ham hasn't had a fair chance. Hardly utilized or used to his full potential.
@@joshescalante4300 8 years on the roster and no one thought to stop wasting his immense production capabilities. I was not aware of the unfair treatment. Nah
Badbury is really 30?
Keep oliver
Keep Oliver and bulldoze the rest. Why keep a fullback you hardly use
He is a stud special teamer and even caused a fumble this year on special teams. I think that’s the main reason he’s stuck around
That's on the play calling not utilizing him.. I wonder if there's a different result if we had used him on those goal line plays we flubbed.. 🤔🤷
@aaronshields6353 would you rather have a stud special teamer or more cap to sign someone who can keep your Qb clean . Besides darrisaw the o line was a disaster
Blake wasent great Weakened 2.5 positions not punting Brad and setin reisner on RG not LG
love ham but if you arent going to use him then cut him and use that money to keep akers who can do everything ham does and more and as for josh oliver and blake brandel theyre non negotiable for me id keep them for sure even if they both end up back ups for the rest of their vikings careers they bring good veteran depth and good spot starters if someone needs a break or if injury hits
ingram and bradbury can go bye bye but if they keep ingram id like to see him go through camp at center instead of guard
Draft a RB with actual speed
Ham stays please Kwesi
if u release ham / josh 🤦♂️ 😂
D-Ham my Su-fu guy!!!
Are you getting divorced?
