11. Get unpredictable. My wife was calling our formations and intentions almost every time and she’s not even into the sport...we need to not be out-thought by teams like the Lions
Vikings are too nice? Yes. Vikings are like that smooth modern GM truck with the soft suspension, street tires ,the 10 speed transmission and lane assist. Other teams that plow against us like the Lions, are like a 1977 lifted Chevy C10 truck with locking differentials, hand turned locking front hubs and off road tires. It bounces you off the road but it does plow through and get you there . Vikings are too worried about their color coordinated gloves , bling and customized glitter shoes. Why can't they get out there and just slam? They look like sychronized swimmers in tights.
Great list Andy! FWIW, after free agent season has ended, I want the Vikes to be known for having one of the higher paid O-lines in the league. That means that Kwesi A-M knew that he had to out-bit other NFL teams for the best talent...and dole out enough shekels to entice Trey Smith from a Super Bowl calibre team, do Tevin Jenkins a favour by stealing him from 'da Bears', sign a top Centre...plus sign Kevin Zeitler & re-sign Dalton Risner as backups. And, yes indeed, a monster in the middle of the D-line must be added!
Tyliek Williams at 24 if he is there ik he’s not known as a pass rusher but he blows plays up on a regular. we haven’t had a elite run stopper since linval
I like that idea because you could trade back from 1st round and still land Williams late 2nd. Then you get two picks in Rd 3 to get a good RB1, or trade both to get a better RB1 in early Rd2. Personally, I'd keep the two 3rd rounders. Use one for a good RB, and the other for a good WR to replace Nailor.
We need an interior pass rusher not a run stopper. Vikings had one of the best run defenses this season our problem on the line was no pass rush in the middle.
@@jimbo92107 yes I do believe he is a late first round early second rounder by time the draft comes and we could get a little capital going down if we don’t want to reach at 24
To think Trey Smith fell to the Chiefs in the sixth round completely because of a non-football health issue. Conversely, the Vikings took Andrew Booth in the second round who barely played at Clemson due multiple football injuries. Chiefs showed good process. The Vikings . . . not so much.
Love the truths, Andy. When you say, “Kwesi understands” I don’t know if I agree with that. Both the of the interior lines have been ass, thank you, since he’s been in charge. I’ve been banging the table for upgrades in the trenches for years but he doesn’t seem to want to fix it.
1. Dalvin Cook was our guy, and we chose Mattison. (Would love Akers and Jones back friendly deal of course) 2. KOC/Flores play calling schemes need to be crisp, better time management. (Late games) 3. Our guys gots to come ready to play POINT BLANK PERIOD! 4. Having a swagger in Football is necessary! More swagger, let’s dancing! 5. GO HIT SOMEBODY, MAKE SOME MFKN PLAYS! #SKOL4L 💜💛
Imagine what might have been had the Vikings signed either Barkley or Henry last offseason? Barkley ran for 2,000 Yards and Henry for 1,800+. Yeah maybe they wouldn't have as good of production behind our O-Line but I think they would have been a lot better than Aaron Jones.
Although I thought there was a high likelihood that the Chiefs and Eagles would meet in the Super Bowl I am very disappointed. I have absolutely no interest in watching this game. Too bad they can’t both lose
Great points! It certainly will be a challenge to persuade Trey Smith to leave a perpetually successful team with a great coaching staff & highly supportive fans. That's why I have been commenting on the following reality: IMHO, Kwesi A-M will have to dangle an extremely large & tasty carrot in front of Trey Smith in order to entice Smith to join the Vikes. I have suggested that it may take $25 million/yr, a 4 or 5 year contract, and a significant portion of the money being guaranteed. Of course, it is distinctly possible that Kwesi A-M will realize that Smith would be too expensive, and just decide to go after some other O-linemen in free agency (like all the ones Andy has discussed)...or perhaps make some trades to get the kind of O-linemen the Vikes desperately need.
They not built on playing tough. KOC is a big play type play caller, he’s knows nothing about running the backfield down someone throat. We need a speedy and great field vision running back .
Maybe we're to disciplined? How many pass breakups did we have all year. Get in the receivers face! Messy with their hands. Make them earn it if you get called for PI so be it.
I seriously think that we're good at assessing playmakers (QB, WR, TE, not running backs) and we suck at interior OLine, and corners when it comes to the draft. look at the Lions, much of their nastiness is in the trenches where they have built through the draft. Same with the Eagles. We need someone in the scouting department that can accurately assess good mid-rounds (round 3, 4, 5) linemen and defensive backfield.
Get rid of Garrett Bradbury immediately. Even if you have to overpay for Drew Dalton, do it! Resign Dalton reisner who's been an excellent pass blocker and allowed zero sacks in the two seasons he's played for us with only three penalties. Then pick up a reasonably priced decent pass blocking additional card, Will Hernandez may be available, Aaron Banks could be a good option and there's several others that won't break the bank but are still good. That way you've still got money left over to sign a high-end cornerback, resign Byron Murphy and Cam Bynum.
Yes indeed. While JJ is a highly competitive guy, I don't think he is an angry, combative person. Also, he is so talented that only the very best DBs can challenge him. That means he may need to work on developing skill sets to get open against physical DBs, especially those who are good at getting away with bending the rules & even breaking the rules. FWIW, I think much of this also applies to Hockenson, Addison, Nailor, etc. IMHO, there are two other ways to help JJ, Hock, etc. to get open more often: (a) The Vikes offence has to be able to play 'bully ball', force the opposing team's DBs to tackle RBs & TEs, and generally wear the DBs down..and that comes back to the Vikes' desperate need to upgrade the iOL...and (b) KOC needs to design & call more plays with really quick reads (slants, well-executed screens to WRs/TEs/RBs, etc) so opposing DBs don't have time to close with JJ, JA, Hock, etc & start clutching & grabbing.
Please trade H Philips he is A rotational player at best yet the Vikings have him starting and playing almost every snap and he just can’t anchor or push the pocket! Plays paty cake in the trenches and moves no one!
I feel like the Vikings front office has to watch this guys channel.
Are you sure they don’t watch?😊
Let's just hope that they feel the same way.
100% they probably watch this channel. They did sign Gilmore soon after Andy advocated for the Vikings to sign him lol
11. Get unpredictable. My wife was calling our formations and intentions almost every time and she’s not even into the sport...we need to not be out-thought by teams like the Lions
We lack toughness point blank period.
This was on the money. You do great content, Andy, but I think this was one of your best! Absolutely right, top to bottom, on all points.

You are 100% correct. This team is built on highlights reel plays not physical toughness . They don’t strike fear into teams

The last time we saw anything remotely close to a three man rush was Jared Allen plus the Williams wall!
😢😢😢 those were the best days of the defense
I love it when Andy says "tin!"

It was one of the best defensive line against the rush since a long time. Good in sacks too.
To think Trey Smith fell to the Chiefs in the sixth round completely because of a non-football health issue. Conversely, the Vikings took Andrew Booth in the second round who barely played at Clemson due multiple football injuries. Chiefs showed good process. The Vikings . . . not so much.
I like it!! Let's Go Vikings!! Skol! 🏈💜💛
I think Josh is a QB whisperer as well!

I would love to see Aaron Jones paired with a young RB and a stud OLine! Whoo wee
Aaron Jones isn't the answer, he can't stay healthy enough to be RB #1.
I don’t think we want JJ throwing the ball 45+ times per game for a decade. Let’s run the ball.
If we go all in on Guards and maybe a corner in FA we can focus on building the defensive trenches and back end in the draft.

La’Quinden Jackson if the other prime RB’s aren’t there. He is a solid SEC RB good vision, hard to take down. His main issue was playing for Arkansas.

Yes you said it they are SAWFT and Finesse quick undersized line men on both sides of the ball. That just get mauled!
I wanted BF to get a head coach position but on the other hand I am really glad he didn't we need him
What an awful superbowl matchup.
Then again I keep reminding myself “thank god Detroit isn’t in it”😂😂😂
Chiefs will probably resign Trey Smith as you well know good O-line players are hard to find .
Great points! It certainly will be a challenge to persuade Trey Smith to leave a perpetually successful team with a great coaching staff & highly supportive fans. Vikings are too nice. Cam Skattebo (spelling?) would be a good addition to add some angry runs.
I thought point 7 was “the JETS team has higher expectations than us”
Are we giving up on Chandler?
They not built on playing tough. KOC is a big play type play caller, he’s knows nothing about running the backfield down someone throat. We need a speedy and great field vision running back .

JJ got man handled in the playoffs needs to get off the D backs and get open

@
ABSOLUTELY spot on
Best running back available in the 2025 draft.... Ott number 1 from university of California. Your welcome!!!!
Could have been worse, could have won 15 games and lost first round like some team. Jk
We gotta start paying the refs.
Liam Cohen's "DUVAL" was the worst thing ever
I wanted the bills to get in and loose plus the 4 in a row losses they had all vs nfc east
Loose?
Darnold screwed up JEts, all on him and KOC
They better keep Aaron jones pair him with a talented rookie.sign jones
we need one more star wide receiver.
Won't win a 'playoff game' until the trenches are fixed.
We lack in speed. We need a speedster at cb or wr or rb
It's a passing league. We don't have to worry about a running game. And so on and so forth and what have you.
