- Meet Linguine, my new whites tree frog! Linguine is my second whites free frog who I got to be a tank mate for my current frog Alfredo. In this video I'll be introducing you to Linguine, showing you her quarantine setup, as well as her future enclosure with Alfredo. Then, let's feed both frogs! Love them they are so cute , I used to own two Whites tree frogs about 20 years ago now, they were called Lemon and Jelly. Unfortunately they are no longer with me, I used to love watching them eat.

I've been taking care of three snowflake whites tree frogs at work. (Pet department of store). These 3 have been together since they arrived months ago. Someone bought two. Broke my heart. I bought the last one and I'm going to get him a buddy when he is all settled in. I love him so much! He is so cute.

I have 3 White's. I ordered them as babies and they are about 8 months old now. They love super meal worms too. We are watching them grow and seeing their personalities. I enjoyed watching yours eat, it's always fun. Thanks for sharing your pets.

I use to catch tree frogs when I was a kid and watch them in a tank for a day and release them. I just bought two white tree frogs earlier today. They seem very calm and love the cork logs I have in their terrarium. I’m thinking of planting some clover and moss in the soil I have.

I just got 3 babies from josh's frogs! Their names are Neptune, Jupiter, and Mars :) I want a honey blue eyed eventually who will be named Venus. I absolutely adore them. I'm using an 18x18x24 but when they get bigger I'm gonna put them into a 36x18x24

for any new whites tree frogs owner, pls pls pls be careful as frogs and especially whites tree frogs in specific tend to struggle with weight issues!!!! to tell if you frog is overweight is if its skin above its ears starts to droop or fold over its ears! overfeeding is an easy habit to develop so stay safe and healthy! Also i love your content, this has really helped me!

Hey! I have a couple of questions!
Could I keep one adult whites tree frog in a 12x12x18 enclosure?
Could I also use paper towels as substrate? Or coconut fiber?
Would I be able to get away with feeding five medium crickets on Sunday and Wednesday?
And last be not least, would one whites tree frog get lonely by itself?

hi! i’m not emma but i own whites tree frogs and i would love to answer yours questions! a 12x12x18 would be amazing for one frog! paper towels are great and easy to replace, definitely! coco fiber does tend to get more messy and i’ve heard of frogs having problems with inhaling or eating it before. so for substrate i recommended paper towel or joshs frogs foam substrate! you may need to feed your frog more then that, but they only eat at night as they are nocturnal. how many crickets is really something you have to feel out with your frog and test how many seems to make them happy and healthiest. feeding around 10 medium or large crickets every 2-3 days is the standard, but can vary frog to frog.
whites tree frogs do tend to like having friends but they can do very well on their own as well! if the frog has been living alone it’s whole life so far, it should be perfectly happy by itself (with proper care, of course!)

Mine weren’t difficult at all, they took off rings right away! But every frog is different, so some could be trickier than mine
@@EmmaLynneSampson HI Emma.. proud moment. Back story...I just bought Fred & Ethel Saturday...and up to today...they have not ate. I tried a bowl of dubia roaches....no luck.
So....it bothered me to the point I got out of bed...put them individually into an empty tank and drop roaches in.....I'm happy to report success...they both ate 4 roaches!!...might be my go to way of feeding them. I still want to try crickets in their exo terra.....but lots of place to hide.
What do you use for uvb lighting and plant lights? Do you mist at all and how often?

He's a year old rosy boa, local to a desert in southern California, tan with some orange spots and stripes, looks like a little noodle!
Besides paper towels, what's a good substrate for them? I know some can accidently be ingested and cause problems
coconut fibre substrate is great. put sphagnum moss with it. if it’s ingested they’ll be able to pass it easily

No I like to feed a variety! They get crickets, superworms, silkworms, hornworms, waxworms, etc!!

Most frogs I can think of will need to eat at least twice a week. Adult whites tree frogs are fine being fed twice a week. They can also eat superworms, dubia roaches, hornworms, silkworms, etc

i love this video and ur frogs! i am thinking of getting one of my own, but i was wondering if instead of cricket i give them superworms or dubia roaches? how do you tell when they are full, i dont want to overfeed them!
Thank you! Frogs won’t really show you when they’re full (they will definitely eat way more than they need to if given the choice 😂) as babies you can feed your frog every day, and quite a lot! But once they’re an adult, it’s best to only feed them 2-3 days a week and only feed about 2-3 super worms or roaches at a time! If you do ever use crickets, you can feed slightly more of those since they’re smaller

Ideally they should have a varied diet. They can’t really survive off of just one food item. Crickets, roaches, earthworms, super worms, hornworms, silkworms, etc

Hello! I was wondering if you ABSOLUTELY have to feed them crickets, im a little iffy about crickets. Adult crickets mainly. Im down to feed any other bug if i did get one (dubia roaches, mealworms, soldier fly larva, etc.) but if i did get one and i HAVE to feed it crickets is it okay if i just feed it baby / juvenile crickets?
Hey! I’m no expert so take what I say with a pinch of salt haha! But if the insects being live is what you aren’t too keen on - you can actually feed your frog dried insects! just try to avoid mealworms as there hard shells can damage the frogs soft stomach! Hope this helps

The terrarium is fully bioactive which means to an extent, the enclosure is self cleaning. Cleaning bioactive vs non bioactive enclosures is a very different process

One is fine. They should also pretty much be in their cage 24/7. I’m not sure what else you’d do with them..
Do they grow fast or slowly? I got a pair back in november or december. After a rough start they finally start to grow and eat.
It can depend! A lot of time their growth rate depends on food, temperatures, etc. So some may grow slower than others, but overall whites tree frogs grow pretty fast!

Question: Can male white tree frogs live with a female? Or will the female be stressed cause the male will try to mate with her all the time?
Usually they’re fine! In order to breed they typically need a rain chamber, so without one breeding usually will usually not occur. But still make sure you monitor them, and always be prepared to separate them just in case!
How long would I have to quarantine the new whites tree frog before I put them together ?
I’ve had my frog for 4 weeks and he seems to be scared of me and if he’s out and I see him he’s gone with in five seconds which makes it impossible to try to handle him
Try forming bonds with them by hand feeding them, let them climb on you (only about 1 time a week) and give her a nice enclosure! It didn’t take me long to form a bond with my frog but I did things like take photos of my frog, play with her and stuff like that

Nope! Just make sure it’s full with lots of plants and branches :)
One of my whites tree frogs turns like a brownish color in the day. There is no light currently, but I am working on a bioactive enclosure so they will get light soon. He is like 4-5 months old. He usually stays on the glass in the top right corner, but when he comes down, he changes into a green color. Is this normal?
Yes! Brown is a pretty normal colour for them as well
@@EmmaLynneSampson Oh ok! Thank so much😁. I was also wondering if it was ok to feed my tree frogs outside of the enclosure. I have a little critter keeper that i put their crickets in (with calcium and vitamin powder) and they just go around and chase the food. Both of them have pretty bad aim and they are on eco earth so I don't want them eating any of it. Do you suggest feeding them inside or outside the enclosure? I could do either.
