I have the 1080p screen model. It is worth to mention that on battery, even if you switch to high performance (Sport mode) on Creator Center, you will not get the full performance. On charger the cpu can boost to 50W and sustain 3.9Ghz on all 6 cores and that's why it performs the same as an 9750H/8750H but on battery (even if it's switched to Sport mode) it will automatically switch to Comfort mode and the cpu will be limited to only 15W at 2.0Ghz on 6 cores (after undervolting it boosted to 2.4Ghz) and so it performs between an i7 8565U and i5 9300H, at least on benchmarks. I asked MSI and they told me that they intentionally limited the cpu to Comfort mode on battery to preserve batterylife. Nevertheless, this is the perfect laptop for me and a great alternative to an XPS 15/X1 Extreme/Macbook Pro 15.
I actually just send the Laptop back to factory to check to day. Cuz i having a problem with Laptop keep stuttering when i doing maya and open the video in the back ground. When i scroll the timeline will stuttering,But when i try to render just to see stuttering problem The laptop will actually freeze for a second and back to normal. Really suck this happen but i hope they can spacified to problem and fixed it.

Got this laptop and it is really good. I love it! Uses it to edit 4k video and it handles everything perfect (with the power plugged in ofc). I edit in davinci and premiere and it works just fine. I did upgrade it to 32gb ram tho just to be on the safe side when editing. Great video and keep the good work up!

@@albertom75 yea. i dont have the 4k screen tho.. and i dont really do any heavy color grades in resolve. just more simple edits with a few efects on it. this laptop handles it well! but you must have the power plugged in to edit 4k without lag.. 4k 24fps from my sony a6400 with highest record quality plays back smooth, not 100% all the time but most, and enough to not be annoyed when editing :) i can recommend this laptop to u. the 10th gen i7 is awesome aswell
I wish they had a seperate proprietary fast charger, that would not take up a usbc port, when fast charging is not needed you could still use the usbc port.
Honestly if you look at XPS quality control issue, this is the best alternative even tho the ssd is capped at 1.5M speed. But, that's better than dealing with service

Alex the XPS 15 7590 that was compared was a base model with an i5 9300H which is only 4C8T and integrated UHD630 graphics compared to the Prestige 15’s 10710U + 1650 Max Q. The higher end XPS 15 has a i7 9750H (6C12T) and 1650 Max Q which out performs the Prestige 15. It also has options for better displays
It's not 'better', both have their ups and downs that I talk about. Neither is a 'wrong' choice. It depends on what you value / the exact specs/pricing in your region.
Pranav P i have to disagree. Dell os refunding me because they cannot get rid of the color banding. They replaced my screen today and its still there. Now i have to look for a laptop with good sRGB rating and no color banding. Go look on the Dell forums how many people complain about color banding. Don’t waste money on XPS

That's quite strange - in your Alpha 15 video, the FPS charts in games show the Prestige 15 outperforming the Alpha 15 in CPU heavy games like Division 2 and Far Cry. But in this video, the Alpha 15 shows as being ahead by about 20 FPS. Had there been software updates for the Alpha 15? Or is there something else to explain it?
Trying to decide between this and the G15, should I be concerned with the base 1.1GHz-4.7GHz compared to the G15 2.9GHz, up to 4.2GHz. I mean which is the faster laptop ?

Are your sure, that the thunderbolt dock you showed in the video can charge it? I was under the impression that the prestige needs a 90w charger and that most of the thunderbolt docks rightnow only support 85w

looking that review on MSI Prestige 15. so maybe its only in my laptop somthing wrong but it doesnt work 16 hours...and that thing make me realy sad but it's not the only thing that my laptop has. Yes it has a realy beautiful 4K display and 32 GB of RAM (thats realy cool!!!). The screen is realy big and its something awesome, but if you wand to use it comfortable you could turn off eco modem (in that laptop that theme need a new topic) and its realy works much better. In games its realy hot!!!! And Im using balanced mode, cause hight performance realy burn!!! Thats cause I'm playing only old games on it (on the middle settings). Actualy battery life if 10 hours (best in eco mode and low frequency settings) and 5-6 hours in middle settings of CPU mode. Almost Im realy happy that I have that laptop, its realy good, but not for gaming (realy hot and in CS:GO on minimal settings I had 48-49 fps that falling to 29 sometimes on dust2). What about working(also programming) or whatching movies that could rival with a macbook (so yes macbook has better colors of display).

The 90W charger that comes with it is insufficient for 100% utilization of cpu and gpu at the same time and the battery will start to slightly discharge (similar to a Macbook Pro 15). With that said, the 65W charger will be enough to only charge the laptop and do only cpu-intensive tasks but not cpu+gpu at the same time.
The 4K screen really helps with creativity / productivity apps that for the most part don't stress the 1650 at all. An occasional game you'd run at 1080p.

Depends on the exact configs you can get for that money. Dell is a bit ahead in sturdiness, but that doesn't mean it will actually last you longer!

Problems with all ports. All of then 0,5 mm out of chasis. All ports dance when you plug pendrive, charge etc...

Screen is debatable. Can't get a 4K option on the Dell unless you spend significantly more, and the MSI panel is really good. Can't get OLED though.

No, this is a 2019 model. The 14" and the 15" came out the same time. I believe the 14" has the same specs but one inch smaller.
The 15" inch model has a better cooling system than the 14" inch one, which has only one fan.
