Hi Matt, great recommendation. I ordered the Motoes combi pannier plates & rear rack £260 from Motoes Turkey. Arrived in 5 days to Derby UK. Took 20 mins to fit, super strong, colour matched in blue. They look great. Perfect fit 2022 T7. Great quality- highly recommend. Mike
Thanks Matt! I just found your channel. I am going to order this set. I contacted the company with a question and they followed up quickly. I think this is exactly what I am looking for. Going to strap on a MM Reckless 80 or 40 to it.
@@advmatt Are still happy with the side plates? I want the rack, especially for the handles to make the bike easier to pick up. It looks like most rackless luggage options will cover the handles so maybe the MM Reckless is not for me. I want to be able to use the handles when I have bags on the bike.
Those look great on the bike Matt. I certainly recomend you take a look at the Rhinowalk bags. They appear to be on sale every holiday. You may be able to get the 48L set for the $129 I paid on Black Friday. - Frank
I have the side and top rack. Had issues mounting the top rack as one of the attachment points didn't line up. Had to go to a welder and cut the rack, realign and reweld it and then paint it. Motoes refunded me $150 for my trouble. Other than that well made, light and work great.
I changed the exhaust to save the frame and swing arm because the stock exhaust is known to bend inward on a fall. Here is a link the video I did on it. It should answer all your questions. ruclips.net/video/d0r00J9wsiY/видео.htmlsi=Fyg0hIerTVuxK3y0
Hey Matt, do you feel there is anything the T7 does that the 390 can’t? I had a T7 and I was not particularly impressed with the road manners (mainly related to side gusts and wind buffeting). I am toying with adding a 390 as my more road worthy addition to my WR250R but you sort of went the other way (adding the T7 as the “road” bike)? Curious on any thoughts. Cheers,
That is a hard question to answer directly because I was replacing my BMW R1200GS with the T7. The 390 Adv gets blown around on the road more than the T7 does. I have had days of riding directly into head winds up hills and the 390 Adv struggled to maintain road speeds. While I was living on the East Coast the 390 Adv was really fun to ride and I never wanted more power. Now that I am back out west where it takes days to get anywhere instead of hours I appreciate the extra power the T7 offers. I think it depends on where you ride and what type of road riding you do. I have ridden the 390 Adv all over the place and only wanted more power a few times. I plan on doing some big trips next year and I am going to test these two bikes head to head on long trips to see which is better. The 390 Adv is much better for me to ride offroad due to its light weight, so when I am doing offroad riding I know which bike I will take. Hope this helps. Cheers.
I don’t know what it was, but I got blown around on the T7 like no other bike I have owned (8 total). My WR does better from a wind management perspective. I am in Oregon, and mainly do BDR style riding. I would like to add one bike that is a little more road bias (keeping the WR) but still able to complete BDR’s, etc. The new Himalayan and CF Moto 450 are also interesting. Thanks again,
I love this idea. Probably the route I'm going to go. I just got my T7 and still doing my homework 😂
@@allenhibbs1 these racks work great with rackless luggage.
Late to the party, but thank you Matt. Exactly what I was looking for.
These racks work really well. You will like them.

You seemed as impressed by the racks as I was. Really satisfied. Cheers.
Just ordered a set of plain silver racks for my new 2024. Thanks. Around Bend Oregon out on 2 wheels
Thanks Matt!

@@trailrunnermike I don't have access to any handles from the side rack. MM luggage will cover it for sure.
Nice find, I’ll have to check that company out

I will take a look at them. I have a little surprise up my sleeves I am working on. Hope to have revealed before Christmas.
Just bought a set of 48 litre Rhinowalk bags Black Friday special…supposed to be delivered in January
I just received the Motoes top and side racks a week ago..not installed yet winter just set in
I am really pleased with the side racks. Thousands of miles and some hard riding will really test them out.

Wow, it's great Motoes refunded you some money. I got lucky with how my went together.
have the same racks, pipe and tusk soft bags. Really happy with the setup. What brand are the gauntlets?
@@loup207 I don't remember, I think Bilt, they are cheap.
Great video, may I ask why you changed your exhaust? To protect the frame in case you go over? Is it a weight savings? Curious too how it sounds.

How are the edges of the laching point are they rounded ? Any sharp edge to the side rack that could damage the straps ?
All of the edges are rounded. I didn't find any sharp edges. It was made really well.
Do you have an install video? These paper instructions are horrible 😅
What luggage system are you going to use with this setup?
Contemplating the Tusk Pilot or the Adventure Spec Madagan.
I am going to use my DIY rackless setup. Here is my video describing it. ruclips.net/video/Wwc_h3yEFi0/видео.htmlsi=ZOSN6wextab5uqPm
Why you haven't end up with the Tusk Pilot bags?
I have the Tusk Pilot bags. They're okay but would be floppy without something like this rack to secure them. I really like trying different luggage.
Do you have a pic of the tusk pilot bags with that side rack?
@@martinlapierre4373 I don't, my Tusk Pilot bags are sitting on the floor. I haven't used them in a few years.
