Gil is better than Wall. Wall is faster and has more pure athleticism, but he does not have the dynamic game and supreme confidence of the master Arenas.
I like the time when NBA had a variety of stars in all positions with diverse talents and distinct approaches to the game. Stars in recent years were mostly either ball-hog combo guards or explosive big men. The lack of creativity makes the game far less exciting.
R.I.P. Bill Walton. This was also the game where, after practice, Bill had had a chat with Gil about having an efficient game. He talked about it on the Bill Walton memorial episode of Gil's Arena.
Basketball continues changing. Back in these days, having that "one guy" is what every team looked for. And it made for very entertaining games, like these.
The score after three 97 to 90; this was the other man that was in fuegooooo during the mid 2k's in Gilbert Arenas who can shoot it anywhere within the mid court very reminiscent of Step Curry today. So therefore what we are seeing from Steph Curry today his great scoring streak and ability to shoot it from anywhere on the floor and even get creative on the dribble dry is nothing knew that we haven't seen.
Marion had position @ 1:46. Arenas just ran into him. No bump on Marions part. Good no call. Marion also had position with 20 seconds to go in the 4th on that Arenas drive and bucket. Arenas wasn't by him, just sweeping to the basket going right, bumped into Marion on the shot but Marion was perfectly position between Arenas and the cup. Bad call. Still dissapointed Arenas's prime was only captured in the NBA for 2 seasons really. I love his style. Similar to Iverson with the dashing forward and left to right between his legs at the same time. A lot of explosion, hesitation explosion with the ability to shoot or keep driving after each explosion or hesitation. Clean driving in and out. Curry range. (way less attempts that deep). Respect.
Unbelievable game. The NBA is not like this at all anymore. All the new superstars just don't seem like the old ones. Mcgrady has gone to China, Gilbert is not really there anymore, Kobe will be gone in a few years, Ray Allen isn't what he used to be, Vince can't do the things he once could. Such a shame.
Gilbert Arena must of had that Michael Jordan-ess rub off on him because it seem the Arenas came right after Jordan's last season of 02-03 and it would seem that Arena's ran with the mantle if you will afterwards.....just seeing it through a prophetic lense; because that man was on fuegooooo for the mid 2k's.
Although they were both great players, Arenas was never bothered to actually play some tough defence, while Nash never had speed to guard some of the best pointguards in the league
GIlbert had to put in mad work to get his game to be that sick, the only other player who was tougher to guard 1 on 1 was MAYBE kobe. Shame for the injuries.
nah. arenas used to isolate kobe and stuff like that. he is a better scorer. curry is not the individual scorer arenas is. if we are taking the team into account then yeah.
gil was a legend
I'm here after his episode on Club Shay Shay lol
Same
Gilbert was unguardable back then... Wow.
Gil is better than Wall. Wall is faster and has more pure athleticism, but he does not have the dynamic game and supreme confidence of the master Arenas.
Lol does this have to even be said? That’s not even a question. That’s like saying steve nash is better than goran dragic, like yeah no shit lol

Xun Wang yes indeed. The current NBA product....STINKS
Length and agility is king atm. Giannis is the prototype.
Gilbert was just cooking!!!! Hold up, wasn't this the game when Gilbert Arenas had some choice words for Mike D'Antoni?
Just listened to Gil talk about this game on his podcast and had to look it up 🔥
Arenas is a wizard legend
R.I.P. Bill Walton. This was also the game where, after practice, Bill had had a chat with Gil about having an efficient game. He talked about it on the Bill Walton memorial episode of Gil's Arena.
the lob by nash at 7:20 though..

Arenas was a joy to watch back then ... only other player than Kobe I would have paid to see in person
gilbert is not even sweating at the end

13:40 Too stro.. He got it off the glass! He got it off the glass! Gilbert Arenas banks it in for three.

and the guns, that completely killed his good spirits.
体能无限♾️。
what happened to games like these?
Softness of the nba happened
No Chill
@ 12:16 Can someone explain to me how this is a foul???
I hope the lakers get him
Damn arenas was like curry that year
nah man, Curry's a better shooter but Agent 0 was a better all around scorer
nah. arenas used to isolate kobe and stuff like that. he is a better scorer. curry is not the individual scorer arenas is. if we are taking the team into account then yeah.
people will alwayse say this...
Yeah a lucky 3 pointer off glass by Arenas won the game. Suns dominated, as they did to every team that year.
If youre a consistent top scorer and had scored 53 that game, you wouldnt call that shot lucky.
idk, alot of suns games involved giving up alot of points. I didnt often feel that they dominated good teams.
@@biggringus5499 oh yeah that's why they had the best record of 62-20 lol. Only the 73-9 warriors are a better team.
c'mon man, people get old
you have Derrick Rose,Rajon Rondo,Chris Paul,LeBron James,Paul George and manny other guys.
what's wrong with it now ? the greatest era of point guard ever.
but the point is ther not as good as before
