Maybe it’s because a lot of the stuff I see online these days just paints medicine in a negative light, but you saying you have the best job in the world just makes me even happier I decided to go for med (hopefully starting in September!!). Thank you for showing what it’s really like, including the good stuff 😊
If you haven’t spent a good portion of your life studying medicine up until this point, it will likely be very difficult if you get in. I started studying pediatric trauma anesthesia years before enrolling in nursing school. I do pretty well on the board examination questions. & I haven’t even taken the NCLEX. Really just focusing on becoming a NP. Whatever it is you are gonna practice, I recommend you study it way before you start your residency.
I love my job! But I am insufferably positive about everything to the point that it must be really irritating for everyone around me 🤣 but I think you need a bit of that in medicine to get through! Best of luck with starting med 💖
The most real thing I've read and I've been relating to it more year after year is that medical degree is like being in a relationship, you cry you laugh, you have easy times you have hard times, you experience failure you experience success, you love it you hate it, you overcome hard times and it becomes part of who you are, compliments you and makes you work harder to become a better version of you.
Hi faye! i have my first A-level exam in 17 days and need to get AAA to hit my med offer at Plymouth uni and have recently adopted getting up at 5:45am to get more revision done before driving to college, and because of you i’ve been feeling so productive and positive about my future, i have so much excitement for the future and am so motivated to get to where you are. you are the ultimate med girlie role model! thanks as always ❤️
Thank you faye for positing. You are truly my therapy, and we appreciate all the work you do for us on social media as well as being a full-time doctor - you're aweosome ❤❤❤
Im a GP and currently on maternity leave and up half the night with a newborn and im thrilled to have discovered your channel! You are hilarious and a breath of fresh air. Iv been binging all your videos for the last 24hrs 😍xx
I love this vlog!!! I feel like I’m watching myself on the screen on my 7 day stretches at the hospital! It gives me comfort to know someone else experiences all the same things I do in a job that is exhausting, but that I love. So many moments I experience weekly as well! Thanks for sharing! You handled that as well as all the seasoned pros!
I know you are busy but you never fail to amaze me! You still go on vacations and enjoy your time during holiday, sometimes work 7 days a week, and still find time to make the best quality videos/vlogs. Watching your channel and seeing you from the beginning of med school up to now being a doctor makes my heart so happy! FAYE YOU ARE LITERALLY ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING PEOPLE! I hope you always remember that ❤
I am going through a breakup rn and watching your videos and seeing you girlbossing is always a comfort, especially during this time 🫶🫶 as a fellow ADHDer, it is SO INSPIRING to see you being successful and eating breakfast. I appreciate you :)
For some reason those EU regs never made it to Ireland. I have worked an 11/12 day stretch as an intern. Definitely felt like a shell of a woman then too. I wish I had adopted the ‘doing things before work’ mindset because there were weeks I truly got absolutely nothing done. Great vlog Faye, it is the best job in the world and I think the trend of a lot of medical RUclipsrs leaving medicine is fair enough but it’s nice to see the good side too.
Hey Faye, I've been watching your videos and been a subscriber since you started your channel and I just wanted to say I am so proud of you and watching how far you've come and all you have achieved is truly inspiring. Thank you for taking us along this journey and I wish you all the best on your career as an official doctor!
I’m a palliative care staff nurse with over 40 years of nursing experience. I LOVE working with people who have different experiences to me as every day is a school day and helps me to improve in my patient care.
As an academic doctor, I definitely feel the being 'a shell of a woman' after a long day of utter chaos in the lab. Guaranteed when I have a big/busy experiment on, I'm the most popular person in the department for asking questions or favours from other people. When I get home, I prey that the batch cooked meal in the fridge is still good, and wonder if my hair can stand another day of not being washed (I have thick, curly, non greasy hair, so in the winter I can go a week without washing it!).
I always get so excited when I see you’ve posted! ❤️ is there any way you can do a video explaining all of the different smoothie recipes you do? I need some inspo! ❤️
Love your vlogs! Just a small correction, you can become a consultant from 7 years+ post med school (radiology for example)- most are not a minimum 10 years but often people just extend their registrar bit as generally no real rush to become a consultant especially if you have children/do a PhD/other committments etc :) xx
finally another person with adhd where caffeine keeps u awake😭😭everyone always says it makes them sleepy and it used to make me sleepy when i was younger but now it energizes tf out of me lol. when u said itll keep u staring at the ceiling if u drink it too late, i was like finally someone else hahah. im also unmedicated and looking for a psychiatrist to get treated but seeing u as a doctor with adhd inspires me sm as someone who didnt go to med school and esp everything that comes after cuz i felt like i couldnt handle it cuz of my adhd. maybe one in the day in the future i could try but for now ill stay with just getting my masters & phd but i appreciate these videos sm and the adhd ones❤
Not to be sappy but this is noy just a silly little video on the internet for me?? Like, I literally look forward to it and makes me more productive ❤️ really helps
I want to make a small correction. As American doctors, we don't work UP TO 80 hours per week. We work UP TO 80 hours per week averaged over 4 weeks. This means that we might work 100 hours per week for more than one week in a month.
Currently still watching this, but girlies out there, don't feel bad for needing support from a partner! especially people in Fayes position! Back when we sort of designed the systems we have today, the person doing the demanding career role, would generally have a wife (and yes would likely be a man) who very likely was not expected to do house work, would be fed and kept by their wife, who may have had a part-time vocation. Her labour is absolutely acknowledged and seen, but nowadays a lot of women fall victim to us currently existing in a society that just expects us to do both. Of course its better to be able to have a chance of career equity, but no one has taken on that missing domestic, full-time equivalent role in the household. Now both people in a couple have to work (for the most part), it seems really obvious to me that in this situation, Faye wouldn't be able to cook regularly. Her 2 full time jobs, and carer progression and future earning potential justifyies a reduced load of household tasks. Basically im saying, if I was Fayes other half, id be a domestic goddess. Go get that career girl, ill cook pasta and vacuum alongside my part-time or desk job. Flat would be spotless 🤣 But being for real tho, I work less than my partner, I take on more mental load in the house, but my partner still does their share. Thats fair and equtiaitble for us.
I’m 52 and teacher and a SENCO working in a secondary school . I love your relatable content ! I also love your double necklace !! Where’s it from please ? X x
Sometimes doctors in the US even have work all 7 days, with a 24hr shift thrown in as well. The amount of hours doctors and nurses work here is insane, and on the patient end has me concerned. As a normal person with to little sleep I make big mistakes. a chronically sleep deprived doctor has so much risk 😬 Love your videos 😊
Hi fayee,I loved your videos so much I watched one of your manifestation videos and I was wondering if you could could manifest good grades even after you did bad on exam? Or am I just being dumb, I'd love to know ❤😊
What does your BF do? For work that is... if you don't mind telling people. I work a lot of overtime, my mrs doesn't but it works for us. It makes you appreciate the time together more when you have less of it I find.
Well ❤ Do you know the Department of Anaesthesiology Techniques or the assistant of the anaesthesiologist? I'm studying this department. It's beautiful and fun. We help anaesthesiologists prepare patients for surgery. I was wondering if you had heard anything about him?

Could you do a year round up of your rotations to explain what they all were and your thoughts? I’m curious about it all ◡̈
As a neurodivergent girlie I love seeing you normalise being non-verbal after a long day and allowing yourself time to relax
Not to be sappy but this is noy just a silly little video on the internet for me?? Like, I literally look forward to it and makes me more productive ❤️ really helps
constantly amazed by your ability to be so productive around work
Previous worker at a tea shop: whisk in an "M for matcha" shape. Works like a charm.
Matcha tip … I now add a dash of cold water before hot water to my matcha powder to prevent it burning it tastes less bitter !

What’s the green powder Faye uses
What does your BF do? For work that is... if you don't mind telling people.
I work a lot of overtime, my mrs doesn't but it works for us. It makes you appreciate the time together more when you have less of it I find.
Wait… are you allowed to wear nail varnish on the wards?
Key is the egg breakfast
What does the green powder contain ?
Compared to America, your workdays are short.
Ahaha some days are 8-4 some are 8-8
how many hours was it in the week
Well ❤
