I was at this gig with a few of my mates I grew up with in Blackpool, I was 18, it was at the old Princess Cinema on the Prom, opposite the Metropole Hotel, stones throw from North Pier. We were at the front on the right, I remember it so clearly, the old cinema seats were still there. I arrived at Manchester Uni a couple of months later and the Hacienda had opened earlier the same year... what a great time to be at university in Manchester !!
What a gig, this was done on my wife birthday nine months before I meet her I still love NEW ORDER and my WIFE,can't be bad,as I got my into NEW ORDER AS WELL.
00:00 Procession 04:30 Ceremony 09:18 5 8 6 (Agree with the OP, this is the most awesome version of 586 I've ever heard) 15:27 Truth 19:25 We All Stand 25:46 Hurt 33:32 Everything's Gone Green 38:02 Age of Consent (Early draft version of the lyrics, but the music is mostly complete) 45:10 Ultraviolence
Yeah, always liked 586, no matter the version. Each one is good in its own unique way. My personal fav is from Peel session, There is a fan edition/cover of 586 that sounds like the Peel one. And it's on Spotify 586 - La Fin De Tout
I was there,Tuesday night if I ain't mistaken, still sound out of tune. Section 25 supported and started their set with the very loud sound of a helicopter. Still love helicopters.
Tommy Theball You had to love them for what they were though... I must’ve seen them countless times, I remember them struggling to either get the synthesisers to work, or get them out of a fixed loop...
I was there with 3 of me mates, 15 years old. Missed the last train back to Liverpool and had to walk halfway to Preston before we got a lift! All night in Preston Station and all for a pretty terrible performance by NO. Thanks for the upload. Section 25 were ok though, and I did meet a nice girl from Fleetwood.
I've Kipped in said train station, had a waiting room with heater but guard kept waking us up. He never chucked us out unlike Manchester Piccadilly. Victoria is a cold night. All in the name of punk rock in my case.
Can anyone help - I saw New Order in Blackpool, they played in an old theatre or cinema but I can't remember if this was The Venue. It was opposite the Metropole Hotel before Queens Street. My friend reckons we saw them somewhere else but I'm sure it was at this place. I can't find out where The Venue was online.

Genius
586 is great once the keyboard is in the correct key.
and it's uncharacteristically competent of them to actually fix it mid song... nice save
Procession

Truth
We All Stand
Hurt
Everything's Gone Green
Age of Consent
Ultraviolence
age of consent sounds tight
Que show foda....
Blue Monday was just round the corner, the speeding up of sequencers on hurt for example makes another tune.
Something was up with Hooky's bass at the start!! Was he in tune??
i love that bass it's savage ! (no I dont think he's in tune)
Ignoring the obvious early lyrics, you can tell it's an early take of Age of Consent seeing as nobody's going wild at the bassline
