I once got a tip from a friend who told me to break in climbing shoes by sitting on the couch and watch a movie with them on, and honestly, if you do it that way you don't have to deal with the excruciating pain of the first session while also stretching what needs to be stretched a bit. And honestly, if you do that two or three times and they are still hurting, they're probably too small(or if you deal with hormones on a monthly basis - your feet might just be too swollen rn).

Used Climbing Shoes Caleb (from the video) here. I think Evolv Phantoms are absolutely worth it. All Evolv shoes I've ever worn are great (Kronos, Shaman). They feel like slippers. I've tried Trantulaces (and liked them), Theory's, Mira's, but nothing feels as great as Evolvs. If I were a pro climber, Evolv would be the company I'd want to be sponsored by, for sure.

Loved phantom as my third pair as well. My recent experience switching from phantom to unparallel qubit was great and I ended up wearing qubit much more than phantom and they felt very similar surprisingly. Qubit has even smaller heel cup and heel rubber not as thick as phantom. But in other aspects, I prefer UP Qubit IMO and would recommend it if you're looking to try something new. Thanks for sharing!
yeah a good fitting shoe is always worth it
Sometimes you have no choice but to buy shoes online. Some gyms, have limited options in shoe choices. And there might not be a climbing shoe store or a store that carries climbing shoes in general near you that you can drive to. Before buying online, make sure you check their return policy. Things to check for: How long you have to return, Can you return for a refund, Can you return them after you've tried them on a wall?
