@@taffyfusilier hi Taffy, you need to use countersunk beads intended for fly tying. Then you push the small hold side onto the point. Sometimes you need to ensure the whole hole of the bead is level with the barb and then hold bottom of hook with thumbs and then your two fingers to push over using equal force. Hope that helps? If not I'll try and make a video over the coming weeks of a beadhead and show this aspect of the step by step
@@SeánWoodsFishing Thanks Sean ,brass would be my choice as well providing the fly with a more even "swimming " balance (given your suggested hook sizes)
Thanks Neil. The hook is a Sakuma mini mantra size 6 but it's about a size 12 salmon hook size (patriot) or size 10 trout hook size (B175). Hope that helps 👍
@@SeánWoodsFishing Thanks for the reply Sean. I will be tying one of these up to try on the Derwent. Hopefully if we get some decent water before the end of the season. The river is way too low at the moment. Many thanks. 🙂👍
Love it mate! 🎣👌🏻
Thanks WeeManSham 👍
Hi great vid. How do you get the heads in to barbed hooks? I have some beads but can’t get them on.

Thank you so much you have really helped me out. A video on this would be very helpful.
Love your Channel mate and thanks again
@taffyfusilier no worries at all. Next beadhead video I'll be sure to show how to put the bead on 👍
You’re a gentleman thank you Sean.
Sean what is the bead material (plastic, brass Tungsten etc)
Hi Andrew, all the beads I use for salmon singles are brass. A few folks I know would also use tungsten but I stick to brass.

Never seen this version of the Calvin's shrimp before. I like the look of it Sean and very nicely tied. What size is the Sakuma? Many thanks. 👍🙂
