gentle reminder. you have the access to the biggest library known to mankind. you could make your brain flourish in a thousand ways. study the deepest and most difficult topics from the most competent people in an instant. you could use every movie, anime and video game to reflect, flourish and grow, using something like projection to work trough your own psyche. it is sadly not about the environment but about the people wich are in it. sadly those kids are a product of there parents wich are the product of there parents but also there environment, system and society. sadly also a product of them self. realizing that the content you consume is reflecting a part of your self will get you there.

    I'm gen alpha.
now obviously im watching people like aperture and exurb1a, philosophy and metaphysics and whatnot so im not the average gen alpha.
im in college classes through accelerated learning, including calculus, and astrophysics.
    im a nationally ranked athlete.
    but im still gen alpha.
gen alpha isnt as doomed as people make it out to be.
first off, every generation created slang. dont pretend your slang as a kid was superior, ive heard it, it was just as stupid. plus, most of the time we only use it ironically. The funny thing about it is that it is stupid and embarrassing. Are some of us addicted to dopamine from screens? sure. but you forget, others are addicted to dopamine from gambling, music, candy, gossip magazines, and soap operas. Our addiction isnt worse just because you dont have it.
Someone who is 14 and is saying skibidi is not a grave concern. He is making a joke based on the words of a song in low effort kids show on youtube. Your slang was just as stupid.
On memory. No, our brain is not broken. Our brain is adapting. The brain switches from remembering the location of the data in our head, to remembering the location of the data on our phones. this is because our brain has deemed it more effective.
I am not denying the many many many many downsides of the internet, but gen alpha is not worse than any others just because you dont understand them.

Another video topic on "brain rot/scrolling/too much on line activities", come on guys "aperture channel team". Have you people ran out of quality video topic ideas already and now are going to have repeats of topics you have already communicated to people clearly, without exaggeration and understood...? Never thought I'd be typing out a comment of this nature to 1 of my favorite channels that I highly recommend to others...but here we are. I'm sure it's just a matter of sitting down a performing some new out of box brainstorming ideas with the people who participate in that aspect of the channel. Regardless still appreciate the channel in every way and will still be looking forward to video topics in the future ok. Have a good day even if it involves having to fire some people in a department or to...😮

I had an accident broke my spine and got a TBI 2.5yrs ago and have been waiting to go back to work since, and in that time went from 50mgs to 30mgs of adderall. I noticed my memory starting to get a lot worse and questioned a lot. I first thought it was just the tbi and so I figured "oh, can't really fix that" and so I just didn't do anything abt it. I ended up coming to realize that it was because I went from 50 to 30mgs so suddenly and had a shortened attention span because of it. If anyone is questioning the same thing, let me warn you that it is most likely not the medication or its not that you need to be medicated. I have come to find out that the memory loss Is due to a shortened attention span. Now fortunately for me, memory can be improved or "reversed" in many cases but it took this realization for me to make a change. Don't make my mistake, just a warning.

i will just put my two cents here since i've been mustying this idea for way too long
i agree that brain rot IS a thing and IS important
i want to point out that i also think is a consequence of the alienation we have in society. parents have become more and more overloaded with problems and less and less willing to spend time with their kids. thus, said kids find comfort in social media & so on.

It's the overwhelming exposure to calculated demagoguery and post truth tactics, not the internet or social media as concepts that cause the anxiety, confusion and loss of attention span. The bots, the algorithms, the paid propaganda disguised as independent media; that's the problem. General internet addiction problems would be easier social problems to overcome and less a cause of fear and anxiety. It's deeper than just the short form media addiction.

Very simple cure is literally: touch grass. Go outside, do something meaningful that would engage you and set that phone to silent. Go out, do sports, play boardgames with your kids, try to learn how an engine works or build a wooden "castle". It's hard since it's not just gen alpha but the older ones are addicted too. They just don't admit it. I am working in the IT industry and brain rot is guaranteed. You can't know dozens of constantly evolving technologies and debug successfully without at least 10 browser tabs with references. Problems are piling and attention span, that you can allocate per problem is shrinking. We are the cause we are the cure... I guess

"Weakens socials skills" what would be the use of a global population with lacking social skills?
    I see it as a lay-up to "you'll have nothing and be happy." Because if noone around has the skills to pick eachother up and spread benevolence, it would only be natural for a human to think;
"I'm bored. I Need to do something. I guess i'll just go to work then."
Which wouldn't be a bad thing. Unless, we want to save the world we live in. Lived in.

A lot of these videos and the push to understand the younger generation’s trends feel like the same cycle-older generations looking back on their youth and saying, "It was better back then," just like our parents and grandparents used to do. This video, besides being cringy, doubles as an ad for yet another easy way to use drugs. At the end of the day, it’s all just marketing mixed with scare tactics to keep you hooked and consuming so they can make more money. And let’s be real-it's not like the content they grew up with was any better. They just don’t get it, and instead of trying to understand and let the newer generation find its place, they turn it into something to fear. That’s how it’s always been-a cycle of misunderstanding and fear that just keeps repeating. I'm not a part of this newer generation but I can clearly see this is a cycle we just cannot break.
Don’t listen to these outdated boomers trying to ruin your vibe. Keep making your memes, riz up whoever you want, and let them skibidi Ohio. Stay real, do your thing, and keep owning your space. Not sure if I used any of it correctly. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hearing all of these Gen-Alpha words kills my braincells. I hate this generation of kids. But my own generation isn’t any better either; Gen-Z has it’s own set of words which sometimes feel like a stretch to me. I guess I’m a boomer for my age and generation.
