Used to drive the Albion 6 wheeler tipper which also had a difflock between the 2 rear axles to help on soft ground. Although they were probably the most comfortable trucks to drive I very often nearly come a cropper stepping onto the step because it was curved and this caused me to nearly sprain my ankle. They had air powered windscreen wipers and a lever to open the windows. With the engine being in the cab they were a noisy truck to drive. This was the first truck that I had brake failure on. I've had brake failure on every type I've driven. Luckily the hand brake was solid enough to just about stop me before I mowed down a crowd of kids on a crossing. It would've made national news if it failed. The cause was a hole in a perished brake pipe. Because of this I still say that these are the most dangerous vehicles on the road because it required compressed air to activate the brakes. You lose the air and the footbrakes stop working. Modern trucks have spring brakes on the rear drive wheels so if you lose the air the springs activate the brakes.
What a cracking truck love the way it’s been done to a New Zealand spec really stands out .great shame when AEC were taken over by British Leyland .we haven’t got a truck industry over here in the uk all the British makes have long gone taken over by European truck makers then shut down .Im a ERF fan myself , big Cummins engine fuller gearbox what could be better 🏴🇬🇧
Yes, the AC Marshall is a six wheeler go back to a 70s 80s I had a fleet of 12 they were flatbed and I converted them into tankers. The engine is a 505 They were 22 Ton. Late ones is up to 26 T
Very nice. I used to drive truck. I have some videos of some truck cruises on my channel. I followed you so hopefully I’ll see more of you. Found you through Gail’s Southern Living channel.
Hi Joe! Wow, fantastic channel and I can see you know what you're doing behind a camera :) This is so well done! You should definitely upload more work. I'll send this to Gary too, he'll love it! :)

You're welcome - it's ETL's customary green....

AEC made some great vehicles, my favourite would have to be the AEC Matadors, from my days in tree work.

Que hermoso camión acá a URUGUAY vinieron un montón muy muy lindo camión
in the UK that a Mammoth Major 8 wheeler, I can see it has a 505 engine, so i'm a bit confused, has it been re-powered?
just did a bit of research and between 67 and 68 they did make a Marshall 8 wheeler for lighter dutys, don't see the point really.
Very British,
I absolutely hate that word, truck, it'll always be lorry or better still, WAGON
American = Truck Britain = Lorry or Wagon pre the 80s
