I agree with emanny 100%. I think it’s weird to put these situations/murders into a mini series form. It’s one thing to put it on the news, cause like Joe said it’s informative. But to have people huddled around with popcorn waiting to be entertained and waiting for next weeks new exciting episode is sick, especially if the situation is not that far removed and there’s actually still people alive who dealt with it
I’m obsessed with true crime and murder and killers. When I was a child I was told about my dad’s mother. I’ve never met my grandmother, or my father for that matter. She was brutally murdered by her boyfriend when she wanted to break it off. He stabbed her 17 times. I was able to read about this in the LA Times about the gross negligence of the LAPD and their lack of effort they made when they arrived to the scene after her 911 call. She was possibly still alive inside when they were on the other side of the door. They knocked. No one answered. They left. They saw a light turn off in the bathroom. And they left!!! Didn’t bother to check. I don’t know why this draws me crime news but it does, and I always think of her and that night. I do feel a little guilty being so obsessed with murder and killers. I will deep dive into the most sickening cases like a detective just to try to understand what went wrong and why. It’s probably what helped me stay alive and recognize the manipulative and vindictive personalities since I didn’t have healthy models growing up. I don’t know why I’m writing all this but sometimes we just are drawn to our dark side I guess.

I mean some ppl literally love the horror genre. Ppl getting killed is very compelling for some. I think I started realizing how weird it was with the romanticizing of villains during the joker love in the dark knight. I was like y'all realize this dude would kill you without a thought but y'all love for him seeming like that's not even a thing. I've even heard some ppl say they wish zombies was real.
