Rappers are trained to tear each other down in service to their masters. This creates disunity within the community in and around the music/culture. Making it easy for outside elements to knock off the current and future leaders at will.

I’m a rock and metal guy as well as a huge hip hop fan and have studied the scenes over my life and how people have moved and I can definitely tell you that the metal community has seen some extreme toxicity for a long time now. The crazy thing is that it’s all well known knowledge whether it’s in documentaries or movies or books! 3/4 of Motley Crue for 40 years have gotten away with this stuff. I mean Vince drunk drove and killed a guy and basically got away with it in the 80’s. Anthony Kiedis from Red Hot Chili Peppers had relationships with women significantly younger than him and he told on himself in his autobiography. Nothing happened.

I am now a touring musician and session guitar player and have met quite a few legends ranging from Rock, Metal, Motown, etc. Wont name any names but there are countless stories of LEGENDARY rock bands (Think Led Zepellin, Aerosmith, etc) that were hosting freak offs before Diddy. Not to take anything away from Diddy's crimes or victims of him, but Diddy learned it from the Rock Stars. Hip hop is making a ton of money. these artist (because of technology) are gettin into a space where the labels are not as necessary and I think the labels are trying to hurt the industry back into their control. These major acts have money and influence to be independent or fund independence and change the landscape of the industry and there’s so much information and accessibility that labels can’t control it. They’re being phased out and they’re trying to keep control. They only lose so much because they own the masters and humans are gonna stream your music no matter what’s going on especially if you’re consider a great or a giant. Hollywood, sports entertainment, even other genres of music still need the “labels” to execute on a major level
