This is footage of me playing as Mecha Bandicoot on N. Sanity Island, done by connecting a level from the 10th dimension to one on Earth, escaping the final boss fight against The Evil Twins, and simply walking to N. Sanity beach.
It's also possible to do this as Nina, and it's possible to connect the 10th dimension to the iceberg lab or Madam Amberly's academy of evil, allowing us to play as any character anywhere.
This is a good reason why hackers exist.

this really shows how much effort they put into a character you get to play as for like under a minute
there was supposed to be a whole level where you play as mecha bandicoot but it was cut from the final game

It would probably work but the camera angle might be weird, perhaps unplayable even
Although, funny thing, Mecha Bandicoot rockets do the same type of damage as Cortex ammo does, which means that theoreritically you could shoot the Amberly bells and beat the boss fight, if the camera angle works out.

This was such a missed opportunity have more giant boss fights with Mecha Bandicoot. Kinda like the giant boss battles in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. But sadly, Mecha Bandicoot was shoe horned at the very last minute :(

@Juan Cruz CrashBoomer Well, it does crash on other levels if you do it the traditional way, which is setting your character value to Mecha Bandicoot. The way this was done is by connecting the final boss fight, which contains Mecha, to N. Sanity Island, making the game keep Mecha in memory. And I believe the auto target is because Mecha's gun is really just a copy of Cortex's(you can see that on the ammo counter)
The level that Mecha was supposed to show up in was called Ocean Commotion, and you would control Mecha on autopilot while he is going to the 10th dimension, for the final boss fight, from the ruins of Cortex's boss fight, and you would also have to destroy the Evil Twins' Vice-Versa Reverser Device(mentioned by them in the Tikimon cutscene as "a device that is sucking the goodness from N. Sanity Island and leaving the worst of all possible worlds).

Ele carregou o jogo num emulador com algumas ferramentas especiais, foi no chefe final, e trocou os chunks (pedaços da fase) da ant agony pelos da n. Sanity isle, ele pode usar isso pra jogar com qualquer personagem em qualquer fase, e no fim ele fez o bug da prancha voadora

Is there any way to get a levitation code into this game without having to use a Gameshark, Codebreaker, Action Replay, etc? I don't have any of that and I'm willing to manually import the code(or a hacked file with the code) into the game data, BLAAAAAAAH -_-
Are you playing on an emulator or a ps2, and if you're playing it on a real ps2, can you run burned copies of games?

In that case the solution is simple, find whichever cheating device you want(action replay/codebreaker or whichever you prefer) and download it, and then burn it to a disc.
PS2 cheating devices are just discs, nothing special.

+Sans Well the problem is he is just too large, his hitbox is the size of his model, so he can't walk through any of the caves, and taking him to slip slide icecapades would just be a boring(and slow) walk downhill

Is there anyway you can hack the game and program other characters to be playable? Like Coco, Ripper Roo, Dingodile, etc.
It's possible for some of them, but you would not truly be playing as them, you would still be crash that had a model of whatever character you choose(he would look like that character), but there would be no walking animation or anything, you wouldn't be able to use Dingodile's flamethrower, etc.

As I said, you might be able to play as his model, but you would just be gliding along the floor without any animations. Is there any specific reason you wanna play as N. Tropy? I could check it out for you and see if it works for him

How do I this cheat?
+Ӿїӎӗԉ You need to swap the level chunks in the game files and take a 10th dimension chunk(would be best for it to be one in the overworld, like the chunk between bandicoot pursuit and ant agony) and link it to a chunk to where you want to take Mecha(in this video it was beach).
Then, go to the final boss fight and play the Nina and Cortex parts. When you get to the Mecha Bandicoot part you have to edit your character form value in memory, it will be 17, you need to change it to 16. If you see the boss health bar disappear, you did it correctly.
Now just use levitation/moonjump to escape the boss fight, you can levitate over the boss room entrance and pass through since it's not solid, and then walk on the roofs of the rooms in ant agony until you're back on the 10th dimension beach, and then go through to beach from the chunk that you linked to beach using level swapping.
(if the game crashes when you exit the boss room it means you didn't change the form value to 16)
The address for the character form value in memory is, depending on the game region, the following:

To change the value in memory you can use any memory editor, such as Cheat Engine.
To change the chunks you need to unpack the iso and then unpack the CRASH.BD/BH file, in there you can find level chunk files, you can open the sm2 chunk file using a hex editor(I use HxD) and then ctrl+f for "levels", you will find a levelpath in plain text which you can then edit and make it point to some other chunk. After that get the length of the new level path in the hex number system(if you highlight it HxD will display the length in hex in the bottom of the window), then you have to change the byte that is position 4 bytes before the beginning of the level string, change it to the length of the string in hex that you read earlier.

Open the pcsx2 process and then directly add the address that I gave you, depending on your region, into the code list at the bottom of cheat engine, and select "1 byte". Then change it to 16(it will always be 16 except for boss battles when it will be 17, and it will also be some other number during the worm minigame)
