The only board I would truly call an utter piece of shit is the CBC Sushi. Oh dear god is it bad. Flexes like a yoga mat, the fins are about a foot in from the tail and the rails.. just.. no.

I made the mistake of getting a custom board before I knew enough about boards. I'm 5'6 and my board it 5'11 by 21 by 2 3/4. I got Those dimensions because I was going down from a fun board and I was scared of not being able to catch waves. Lately I was getting frustrated because I wasn't able to do maneuvers and I didn't understand why until I started watching this show. I know this is a stupid question but is there anything I can do to help me be able to do manuvers without having to get a new board?
Sorry Rob but yes there are bad boards. Badly designed badly shaped and badly glassed. Sure you can ride it. Yeah guys ride doors and stand up. But that's not a good board. I bought an off the shelf copy of a lost rocket. Absolutely terrible. Yeah I stood up and did some turns but no spark, no drive and no spring. Pros don't buy off the shelf boards for a good reason.

I'm 180 lbs 5'9, I've been surfing for a while(1year or 2) and I really never am able to paddle for long times, I play foot ball and wrestle, so I have upper and lower body strength, but I can't seem to actually go far when paddling, I ride a 6'2 x 21 3/4 x 2 3/4 groveler shortboard and a 9' x 23 1/2 x 3 1/8 nose rider, any tips on techniques or stuff like that to help my endurance
Random Outdoors your upper and lower body strength as i have found out dont really have much to do with your paddle endurance. I have friends who hit the gym all the time but when they go surfing. They get tired and dont have the same endurance as regular surfers. The best tip is to surf and paddle more
how do you compare (pros /cons) between creeper and hypto? they look kind of similar outline and dimensions, would they ride kind of similar? (besides what you pointed out about they problem with having to nail down dimensions better on the hypto
I've had both. A 5'4 FC and a 5'2 HK. Both were great boards most days of the year between 2-5ft+ here in socal. They do great in mushy reefs, points. Not my first choice in punchy stuff. I would surf them similar to how I'd surf a fish. After a while I replaced the hypto with the creeper because the rails were just a bit too full and the creeper carves in pockets where the hypto would slide.

1 year did you retire? I think you could be very entertaining on just a vlog similar to Ben gravy your own style a cool buddy test out new boards follow you through the day if your daily activity anyway hope you do some more videos soon good luck

I'm liking the new exposure to artists and other people. I used to watch this show before I even attempted surfing. I'm from Jersey so I thought surfing was like a fairy tale around here, recently started learning but mainly used your channel to learn about different technology in shapes incorporated into building surfboards and applying it to like my physics in skating and snowboarding. I'm a videographer now and incorporating the old board shape spiels with interviews, artists, and whatever along with a personal vlog this channel is really awesome and inspiring. As I progress my surfing I'm stoked to really apply some the knowledge you drop in these videos. Awesome channel man, sincerely.

Yes both do, but different things going on. The Double Agent thins out like mad, i.e. skimboard levels of thinness (almost). The Spitfire just shaves off edges of the rails on the deck in the tail, kind of step-deck-ish.

So you could say that personally, I am absolutely NOT impartial already :) Firewire excited me most, so here I am at Firewire because they're my favorite board builder. I'm 'partial' to them. Have you ever reviewed pros pre-surf meals? that would be pretty cool as I know there are a lot of them that have crazy diets and pop rocks and chilli dogs don't always cut it.
