It's possible that mothers in prison don't see their children because the children are in the care system. Social workers will rarely grant permission for children to visit prisons.

A lot of women don’t see family bc of how far we are often held from our home town. There’s only 12 (or 13) womens & many women are at least an hour and a half from home. Plus many families break up when the woman goes to prison, unlike men who still have a home, family when they go to prison. There’s a lot less visits too. Men get visited by the wife/gf etc whereas a lot of women are lucky to even get a letter off their partner! 🤬😟.

Hi Dr. Das. I've never been to prison & and I don't understand why the justice system in my country is so bogus. Actually, I'm the only member of my immediate family who hasn't ever gone to jail/prison. Thanks for explaining the myths of this complex topic. Thankfully, they didn't do much time. As a former inmate I can tell you that it is most definitely a crime school and a gladiator camp all in one... Once you go you will never be scared to commit a crime again... It's very very sad that when I left prison I was genuinely sad... Prison is easy life is hard... But all in all it's not a punishment...

I popped up as a violent offender because of some fist fights and dated some gang members Wich gave me points with gang affiliations... The bullshit about my felony charge is literally that bullshit... I took a charge to get off heroin since rehab was a crock of shit in 2013-2014 receiving stolen property 😂 the whole system is a fucking joke here in the good old usofa and ps prison is actually a big gay summer camp literally. Once you go you learn more crafty shit and your not scared to return if it comes to a misdemeanor in the county I'm slapping a co bump up to felony and do my 6 months in prison...
Fact they have programs for the majority who will never step out of prison again or have longer stints.. so no programs for the people who are getting out with a year or less.... So it's set up for u to fail again and again and again... It's also just a gated community they have softball dodgeball a freaking concert and holidays TV groups church and you can buy drugs shoes food with stamps... Every thing and anything goes..
Also women suck lol they snitch on each other for everything and anything the men are less likely to tell on each other...

Former prisoner here. Been in prison a few times. The stuff I’ve seen & heard over the years is horrifying.
The prison estate is ‘made by men , for men’ the female estate is tiny compared to the males. We don’t get a-d cat (as you know)
Majority of us are in for low level crimes bc of drugs. A history of abuse & trauma.
I was shocked to see that there was quite a few female sex offenders which are the lowest of the low in the ‘prison hierarchy’
One thing that does happen in womens is a thing called ‘decrutching’ which I’m sure you know/heard about.
One thing I will say is I think longer sentences are better! There’s just no point in giving short sentences! You can’t do anything or work on your problems, offending etc.
Over the years I’ve known of women have relationships with screws.
Men are ‘taken care of’ when inside, unlike women. We don’t have as many visits, we are miles from home.
We do get ‘childrens letters’ , family days, ROTL’s for visits home / town visits etc.
I could go on & on & on about womens prisons. Lol.

Have you heard about the prison guard, Vicky White, who facilitated the escape of prisoner Casey White (no relation)? She had a long career, owned her own home, had a decent nest egg and was on the verge of retirement and she threw it all away. Would love to hear you discuss that.

Men are more aggressive on average , not by much but makes a massive differences at the extremes. Also the way men often display aggression is violence which is easier to spot. Whilst female aggression and anti social behaviour is usually none violent. An angry man might kill you, an angry women will make you want to kill yourself.
