Before you say it... yes I pronounced the directors name incorrectly the entire video. "I Boon'd when I should have Bong'd and Jon'd when I should have Joon'd". It was a mistake. My bad!
It’s definitely worth a second watch. There are a LOT of detailed nuggets and juxtaposition of scenes that I caught on the second watch that made the movie more enjoyable.
Great review!!! I think, as a Korean, the most what I love about this movie is that this movie says about a very serious subject but the approach way of Director Bong is not too serious. There's humor, twist, and reversal.
I am One of those People who had been watching South Korean movies from the last almost 15 years, So for me Parasite wasn't something thattt new but it was still masterfully crafted since it has the talented director behind the cameras 'Bong'. He's best movies were actually Memories of Murder, Mother and The Host. So I think the Western Audiences who voted Parasite for Oscars are clearly the one who haven't seen lots of Korean movies for sure and is new to them. That's why they find Parasite so fascinating and unique. Though I am still very happy for Korea cause they really needed recognition for some of their great works and Parasite got it. Still I wouldn't say it's the very best out there. It was overhyped for sure and please don't misunderstand me, I never said it's a bad movie. So please keep an openmind about my opinion. Thank you.
I agree. But I really enjoyed the camera work, and the pacing of this particular movie compared to his recent previous works. The reason why I think it got much traction is because the story material was more relatable, as in, more people would enjoy the movie. Thank you for supporting Korean cinema!
Parasite is a kafkaesque thriller about everyday life with the nose to the grindstone with a cruel symbiotic relationship leading to being stabbed in the back by your employers I liked the use of triangle and theremin
Like you mate, I am here in Uk. I saw it last Sunday and I was enthralled by it. I loved the social commentary. Biting and discussions inducing without being preachy, full of speeches and cliched. The cinematogrophy is excellent, and the house deserved an award on its own. My favourite preformances were the dad of the poor family and the mother of the rich family. I had "Marriage Story" as my favourite of 2019, but this one edges it little bit.

Are you in the US? Frustrates me a little that you guys get the Blu-ray release before it even hits cinemas over here. Cheers for checking out my vid though! ✌🏻
@@iwatched Yes, NYC specifically. Parasite did well here and continues to do well post-Oscars. I think the film premiered here back in October for the NY Film Festival. I saw it back in November.
@@iwatched wouldn't you be able to watch it legally on youtube now? i live in Canada and i see teh buy or rent for the movie on my sidebar even as i type this! I used to live in London and ya the late movie releases there frustrated me so much. Only good thing I can remember is when Skyfall came out there earlier than in the US lol
i don't think a spoiler review is necessary unless you seen it multiple times. i think for your first viewing all I can say is let other people know go in this film knowing nothing.
It reminded me of The Handmaiden another Korean film that if I remember did very well with the awards the year it showed. I didn’t quite love it as much as everyone else did. I guess because I didn’t find the Kim family very likable. Honestly didn’t like anyone.
