hey thanks for the video. having a map of your drive would be nice - keen to take my car for a spin as well - and youtube vids like this is a great way of making sure i know the state of the roads etc.
Thank you what awesome fun you all have A MA zing!! Now do you have an extra battery for your fridge ....I know we can get chilly bins now with freezer areas but the fridge looks cool so where IN NZ did you get that and what's the brand....the induction plate looks great....maybe some solar panels would Help ? ..... great seeing your ideas ....and set up you are all very organized and that's the key ...many hate camping but they don't get the fact organizing at least on camps makes the experience great..... Cheers ....love your work and yr partner catches some very special shots maybe a photographer at heart.... thanks again.... Bless u all....
Thanks! I got the fridge from Trade Depot. But if I was to do it again, I would get a 12V fridge. Having to run off an inverter is mildly annoying. You're right about organisation. If you are taking non-camping folk camping, ease them in with a touch of luxury!
2000w. I think the limiting factor will be the battery. It’s a 100ah AGM and the voltage drop when I draw 2000w is pretty wild. It’s happy enough for 1000-1500w but drops off pretty quick after that.
@@AdventureRoadNZ Thanks. Have you thought about the ecoflow delta battery bank. I am thinking of going this way to run my induction hob. It takes only 1.5 hours to charge from empty to full (At home) then also you can charge from your cigarette lighter plug in the vehicle.
@@johnmears7353 That looks like a good option if you don't already have the other kit like an inverter. Also depends if you like tinkering or not. Buying the individual components separately would definitely be cheaper, but then you'd have the faff of having to connect them. Also that EcoFlow box puts it all together in a nice single package. One thing I would say about EcoFlow, is that the charging rate off the car 12v at 10 amps is glacial, which would make it not great for multiday overlanding. With my kit, I recharge at up to 150 amps at 12v, so I can fully recharge my battery in about an hour's drive. I bought the 2000w version of this: www.mrpositive.co.nz/power-train-1000w-pure-sinewave-inverter and I used this isolator to connect my alternator up to my aux battery: nz.adventurekings.com/lighting-power/electrical-accessories/adventure-kings-dual-battery-system.html I would love to buy this battery, but the budget won't stretch that far at the moment: www.mrpositive.co.nz/12.8v-200ahr-lifepo4-deep-cycle-battery
It's been years since we took that trip, thanks gor sharing. We may need to throw the togs and fishing gear in the vehicle and spend a day out in that area. Shannon
Just awesome scenery

thank you for sharing this video
If you could do a walk around/review of your Volvo and your set up that would be great!
I'll be doing another vid in a couple of weeks. I'll do a walk around then
Here's a little show of the drawers I have in the back too: instagram.com/stories/highlights/17864994314483313/

This is the fridge I would buy if I was doing it again: sunnytech.co.nz/store/default/product-details/140/75/0/0
What inverter size are you using?

@@AdventureRoadNZ Great set up. I also like how you have the rear of the Volvo set up. I am watching all the out of way places you go. Cheers
