This has to be the best ever performance of this song, can’t imagine it getting any better than this. The energy and groove they hit is just electric, you can see in their body language that they’re just giving it 110%. The rhythm section is tight and locked in and Moe’s guitar licks are crisp and edgy. His vocals are expressive and just brimming with attitude as are his facial expressions and arm gestures. A complete live performance, doesn’t getting any better than this.
Agreed. I saw Moe with his old band Troc 59 back in the early '80s at a campus pub at the University of Alberta. This was the kind of performance I came to expect from him based on that.
I fuckin love this whole thing. Pink demin jacket? Smokin ass tele? Badass rythym player. Dancing gogo vocalist. Shhhhiiiitttt!!!! I thought cig dangles was tops. Till now.
i JUST WANT TO SAY THAT i LOVED THIS SONG WHEN i HEARD IT BACK IN 1988 i HAVE NOT HAD ONE PERSON IN MY LIFE WHO KNEW OF OR LOVED THIS BAND AND ESPECIALLY THIS SONG i AM SO THANKFUL THAT RUclips EXISTS AND IT VALIDATES THAT THERE ARE OTHER HUMAN BEINGS ARE HAVE THE SAME FEELINGS AS MYSELF THANK YOU
Kris just rips. She’s my new fav guitar player. She’s got the energy of Pete Townshend and the right hand rhythm of Nancy Wilson. Kris straight up fucking rocks 🤘
So underrated,... so tight, ...should have been huge, (were busted back by Rap making a big move at the time) ...still though a classic band, & had good success ... Cheers
Moe Berg's tone is absolutely off the charts! I subconsciously let out a cavemanesk grunt everytime he hits that open E, goddam that shit cuts straight to the soul!
The 2-girl harmonizing background attack was awesome for the mostly dark lyrical ideas Moe wrote about...but how could he concentrate on being lyrically serious with 2 good looking females in the band? Miracles abound everywhere, and TPOH were one of them...long may their music live, breathe, sweat, and produce other bodily fluids...
I saw him this past week playing as part of the band "Trans Canada Highwaymen" and he did this song. Steven Page from Barenaked Ladies and Chris from Sloan were with him. Forgot all about Moe! Fun show!
Fantastic upload ... I'm disappointed someone had the old original indie video pulled down over a copyright complaint. Surprising when the (lamer) major record label version can still be seen.
Moe currently is my professor at Fanshawe College. and is teaching Music Production. He still plays music, but i don't think he plays as pursuit of happiness anymore.
This is Nirvana with brains. Without heroin. With a great sense of humor to go with the angst. And a great back-up guitarist and vocalist. Geez I miss these guys. Funny, I don't miss Nirvana at all... p.s. Anybody know where Moe B. & company are now? p.p.s. Isn't it a drag that "thinking-person" rock never lasts while "Let's shoot dope and die unhappy" rock becomes immortalized. WTF?
I'll agree hundred percent. Nirvana sucked major fucking ass. Overrated garbage. Glad that shit didn't last. And whoever the Nirvana Fanboy is below you can go pound sand too. What kind of douchebag comes back with a reply like that? Dicktree party of one your table is ready? Dicktree party of one....
@@andrewkkowalski2215 ROFLMAO! I never said that I didn't like Nirvana. I simply delineated a contrast between the two bands and stated that I miss this band and that I don't miss Nirvana, as well as stating that it mystifies me why the knot-heads in the music business that die early from dope become immortalized, while other artists that are just as good (musically speaking) who don't follow the "live hard/die early" model usually get thrown to the wayside. As far as "..people define their existence through pain..." ? Yawwwnnnn.. go back to your gender studies class or what-the-fuck-ever "philosophy of nihilism" professor's lecture hall you learned that bullshit in. As for Kurt's personal relativity (songwriting skill notwithstanding, like I said, I liked his music) to "real life grit" ? The reality is that he was a whiny little man-baby who couldn't get over himself, got everything he fucking wanted, then took a coward's exit by eating a shotgun blast when the going got _real._ As for 'fragile ego', cookie-cutter life', 'ignorant people like you' and 'drugs' ? You don't know me or anything about my life you presumptuous pusillanimous pecker-headed keyboard warrior, so fuck off. For real. By the way, critical thinking and logic are important life skills, M'kay?
Philip that's who I thought it was as well George Thorogood when I was 16 in 1986 he's got that raspy bad boy voice loved it although Moe..... don't look like Georgie sure sounds just as good and them Canadian cuties on background vocals ain't too shabby either take care my friend keep rocking
Pattysreal's right.I never understood how Nirvana got huge while TPOH couldn't break thru in the US.I was a college DJ around this time and did my best to turn my small corner of the world on to them.

Very well said.

The guitar solo sizzles hotter that frying fatty bacon. And Moe Berg is gorgeous af here. No homo. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
that woman on the right ....she kill me...
Thanks to all the TPOH fans who keep the music LOUD!
The first Pursuit Of Happiness album kicked butt.
Kris just rips. She’s my new fav guitar player. She’s got the energy of Pete Townshend and the right hand rhythm of Nancy Wilson. Kris straight up fucking rocks 🤘
This album had so many great songs....Where are they now?!? They totally ROCK!!!
So underrated,... so tight, ...should have been huge, (were busted back by Rap making a big move at the time) ...still though a classic band, & had good success ... Cheers

Only Moe Berg could pull off a pink denim jean jacket and still look cool.
David Watkins I'm pretty sure he's not gay, he's married with a wife and 2 kids.

No kidding. Part of his genius 💘🍁
I saw him this past week playing as part of the band "Trans Canada Highwaymen" and he did this song. Steven Page from Barenaked Ladies and Chris from Sloan were with him. Forgot all about Moe! Fun show!
after all these years...GOD! I still LOVE IT!
A head of their time and CANADIAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m 57 and I can’t believe I still got the problems of an ADult....
Great band, great song. Too bad they did not make it here in the USA. If only more people here had paid more attention to them.
Life following art or art following life? But man, we were the coolest generation ever....LOL
MTV & Much Music’s Canadiana tidal wave is led by Moe’s smart, edgy & tight groove, hook, lyrics & harmony. Our 80’s Twist & Shout!🤘🎸🇨🇦🥁
Best performance I've ever seen for this song, and there are a lot of good ones out there. The guitar solo kicks ass!
i agree
The pressure to rock that song live. Would have bin huge🤕🌤💕💕

This Power Pop Space in time was some of the best crunchiest good times....
been yrs since I heard this song n I still love it TPOH!!!!!!
This is the best version of this song. The energy is awesome and Moe's guitar is the difference!
Fantastic upload ... I'm disappointed someone had the old original indie video pulled down over a copyright complaint. Surprising when the (lamer) major record label version can still be seen.
Sweet heavens!!!! Thank you sooooo much for posting this.
Just a great rokin' song!!
Moe looks like Stan Freberg's kid who was in the encyclopedia commercial in the 90's -- wild !
the best!
Amazing version, the best I've seen, and that includes the original video and single version (the album remake pales in comparison)!
It always makes me feel younger.
This is the Chopin of rock ! Will endure the test of time.
Screaming screaming screaming! Some guy screaming in a leather jacket!
Love it.
My theme song! Thanks for uploading!
Moe currently is my professor at Fanshawe College. and is teaching Music Production. He still plays music, but i don't think he plays as pursuit of happiness anymore.
Same!

@@mikerusso703 Yes, I saw them in Edmonton in 2019.
This used to get played on 99x retroplex a lot.
Wicked good.
The guitar solo made my eyes bleed.

If I didn't see him, just heard him, I would have sworn it was George Thorogood, and he's just as good

They ripped it.
What is the guitar she is playing? Is it a Fernandez?
She playing a Iceman and cutoff the horn :)
Toronto maybe .. Vancouver it's a big country
No Strat for Moe? No LP for Abbott? Very strange indeed.
Why is this © 1988 SBK? God, did that horrible label buy the rights?
" Hip To Be Square " for Gen X'ers
THINK DA GLASSES MADE ALL THE DIFF...MAN
What does the girl say?
Nope there’s better. Check out the live one with Rachel Oldfield
Anyone know what the background (female) vocal lyric is at 1:39?
Gimme Taco well my libido.
"Ooh, ooh, ooh, head 'n' my libido." She's doubling the end of Moe's line, "I got the problems of an adult on my head 'n' my libido."
Leslie Stanwyck, gorgeous. She later formed Universal Honey with Johnny Sinclair also from TPOH
I'm not
Someone should play this for the Canadian freedumb trucker convoy.
Why? Get a Life.
Rockin'! Thanks for posting.
