    I just did coolers and hpops on two early builds back to back. I don't know why I love working on these things so much, because some seriously hate it. Hell, I cant wait to dig into the next one! Early builds are better in some ways other than a little extra work here and there. No high pressure oil leaks. You can almost always bet on the pump in these 03-early 04's. They also dont eat lifters from my average observation across thousands of trucks I saw at the dealer.
    Nice score on that early excursion! Those things are sweet!

    I have an 03 F350 XLT 6.0 crew cab 4x4 8’ bed which I purchased new for 36k. Don’t use it much as it has 59,000 miles. Almost 100% factory stock. I’m in the process of replacing the front cover with the updated version. I had a coolant leak from the heater pipe which rusted through and was so corroded into the cover the mounting flange tore off when trying to chisel it loose. I do want to keep it since it doesn’t have any body rust and I love that’s it’s a 6 speed manual with manual transfer case and manual hubs. I just rebuilt my 4.0 93 Ranger engine at 189k. . I ordered the truck new. Best $16k I ever spent. 4.0 is easy compared the the 6.0. AND parts are a fraction of the cost! Found 2 complete factory old stock new 93TM cylinder heads for $650 delivered. Still in Ford’s foil desiccant sealed packaging.

    I feel the same way about external oil coolers. Must be a growing up in that Vegas traffic lol When you change the up pipe, some of them not all have a restricting or redirecting flap inside you may or may not wanna modify. The early motors also had resonators on the down pipe that some may wanna swap it out for a later years. to help that 03' turbo scream

    This is interesting content. I’m at a year and a half of ownership of a 2006 6.0 that I got with one previous owner and 72,000 miles. It was bone stock and almost still is.

      That’s a unit! Keep the oil changes short & sweet. Add some sort of stiction additive and fuel additive and run it!

    One thing I can't find is ICP relocation kit. I'd like to see a video on how well they work.

    Fix what's broke, paint the aluminium tubes. Don't go cheap on sensors or IRP changing radiator always new hoses. With this mileage get rid of OEM water pump. Blue spring and updated banjo bolts new serpentine belt and your done

    Hey Frank, quick question. What are your thoughts on the HHC nipple cup upgrade for the oil rail?

    So it is perfectly okay to just remove the butterfly value under the intake elbow?

      My apologies been MIA awhile. Ended up trading this truck with a buddy. He 4x4 swapped it and is getting ready to install one of our Stock+ Reman engines. I will be getting a 6.0 psd here soon to build & keep for the channel.

    I guess you're going to have to flush right away. Shame to put all that crap into the new cooler.

    • @FrankBUILTperformance
      @FrankBUILTperformance  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah I’m going to flush the heater cores manually & of course the new radiator is good. Just no other real way to clean it out with the ruptured cooler.

    Would love to hear your thoughts/experience with the IPR Research oil cooler relocation kit. Seeing as how you recommend not getting the BPD kit. Thanks!
