Listen to this guy defending why 2 of the top 3 Americans in the finals including the MVP is not on the team. The real problem is they are Black and proud and have no problems calling out hypocrisy and racism.
Jaylen was literally a two hour plane ride away from Dubai in Jeddah Saudi Arabia so could have easily been a replacement however he should have been on the original team over Booker and a few others. He has indicated that there is more to the story. While everyone is blaming Nike, which in part could be true, I believe the actual issue is that he wouldn’t be able to play as he couldn’t abide with the Olympic rules where you’re not allowed to do any political messages - which as we all know he does on all his shoes to cover up the Nike logos.
So windy starts off by saying kawhi isn't on the team because they couldn't risk him and Durant both not being healthy. Durant's health hasn't changed. So if he can't play, you are still down 2 wing players because you didn't replace kawhi with a wing. Bro, we are not stupid. That math doesn't add up. I get it. In the Olympics team USA can’t be dealing with load management when the Gold is on the line. Wing defender is important but they decided they needed a point guard..
Even if this is a guard-big man oriented tournament, they substituted a Small Foward (Kawhi) for a Guard (D.White).
I’m a Celtics fan, and Brown should have been selected before a lot of players that are on the team. The problem is not White.

Grant Hill said he and Team USA made the decision alongside the Clippers to remove Kawhi and that it was D. White that they decided upon without any influence from Nike.
Jaylen Brown said that they lied and Nike had something to do with it, the Clippers’ president said that they lied and that he wanted Kawhi to still play, and Windy just confirmed that the multi-billion dollar organizations absolutely have influence over who joins the team “sometimes”.
The team needs more guards and not wings yet Kawhi was on the team in the first place… to the people criticizing those who are calling it political, I would say to you that “you are delusional and literally everyone involved is saying that Grant Hill is lying”.

I really believe Derrick White ended up being the best fit for a last minute replacement. He is a plug-and-play player who is willing to assume any role to help the team win. When time is of the essence and so much is at stake - you gotta go with what works at that moment. Jaylen will be fine! He's 27! He has his whole career to go to the Olympics.
