My absolute garden hero and you Sara. Sind we moved to Sweden from Holland 10 years ago the only thing I miss is GARDENERS WORLD the most beautiful garden program in the world. Thank you Sara for this interview 💝
One bit of advice, via Canada, for Swedish + Scandinavian gardeners is to set your raised beds at an angle facing south. By having the top part of the bed higher, the sun hits the earth at a less steep angle and as such it is as if you are living c.100+Km south ! Every bit helps - ha.
Great video! Your poly tunnel is wild, it looks very tropical with the Poha berry next to you! You are fortunate to have spoken to Monty. I think when he describes the darkest days as Nov/Dec he is also considering at that time of the deciduous trees having not yet finished the leaf fall. Thanks
PLEASE make more videos in English! You have a fan here in the UK now. I'm so inspired to get down to my allotment and start planting for Winter and Spring! Thank you!
I enjoyed your interview with Monty - I watch him on TV all the time. It seems to me that you are a very experienced gardener and ready to take on the challenges of gardening through the year! While I am not a vegetable grower, I always get inspiration from seeing people like yourself energetically immersed in growing plants and loving every minute. Thank you from Canada.
I live in the Piedmont. This is my first year growing a garden. Most of my vegetables have died back except my root crops. What should I be planting now to keep growing through the winter? I have a large regular garden bed and a decent sized raised bed that I can cover if needed.
Hello Sara. I wish I could understand Swedish. Your video is so inspiring. It makes you want to go out there and start a polytunnel right away. Maybe next time you could encounter in a video in Spanish. From Sunny Argentina thank you.
Thank you a lot for watching. I do have an English channel with videos from my garden. Maybe you can watch them and understand some more: ruclips.net/user/saraskitchengarden. Welcome!
Hi Sara - very many thank for taking the time to do an english language video; it's much appreciated. A really interesting discussions and i learned a lot from both you and Monty!
It is very interesting to see how gardening varies from different parts of the world ... I wish I could find some gardening tips from the Mediterranean! Thank you for sharing this gardening video in English .
"The seasons are changing no question about it", everything Monty said about the seasons is exactly how the weather here in my state is, on the east coast of the US, yep he's spot on. Interesting video about growing in the winter months, I've actually never thought about it, I will now tho.......Thanks
Thank you so much for putting this up in English with Monty Don, we love his shows, and learn so much from him. We are growing lots, and more all the time. It was so nice to find your channel, love what you are growing there. Thank you again for putting this up on RUclips, Happy Growing, Robbie and Gary
I enjoyed your interview with Monty Don and your own thoughts on gardening. I am from America and subscribed to your channel. Thank you for sharing in English.
Thank you! Did you notice that I have an English channel as well? You'll find it at: ruclips.net/user/saraskitchengarden. And you'll find my English blog at www.sarabackmo.com =)
thank you sara, I've looked at some of your other videos and your garden look so productive. can we see more of what you will be growing in your greenhouse. thanks again. very enjoyable. i'm starting a veg garden after a break for 7 or 8 years but after a long illness last year I have decided I must eat my home grown veg again. you tube has been an inspiration to me.
Thank you for watching! I am a bit surprised and so happy about all the comments. Working on more videos in English, soon to come. Hope you have time to wait for them =)
I have just started growing a vegetable garden this year in North Carolina, USA. It was quite the experience but I was more successful than I expected to be. I had such an abundance I had to give away some. I plan to expand next year so I have enough to bother canning. Every week I watch Monty Don and other RUclipsrs. It has been so much fun and my kids (3 and 6) have enjoyed it as well and bonus it has made them eat more vegetables. My garden is starting to die back now so I am trying to figure out what crops I should plant now. Hopefully next year I will be able to add a greenhouse.
Hi Sara, greeting from Germany! What a suprise stumbling across your video. Monty Don is lovely and so are you. I would love to see more of your videos in English (I only speak English and German) to learn more about Swedish gardening culture. Sub-titels would also be great. Kathy - a Brit in Baveria
Sara, you have such a wonderful "screen presence". Thank you for doing this video in English. I could not agree with you more RE: Winter gardening and was saying to my mother just a few weeks ago how I felt more excited about the Winter crops I was planning than about my current glut of Spr/Summer! Winter gardening is so new to me as I grew up in Australia so it was a luxurious 'grow-all-year-round' life. My aim is to do that in the UK - without a polytunnel (!!!) I look forward to seeing more of your lovely, enthusiastic presentations. Thank you!
Thank you so much! I think you will do fine also without a polytunnel. My sister has a lovely kitchen garden in Ireland and she grows all her family needs - all year round. Good luck!
Tack Sara 🍀 precis hittat Monty Don eller min man, som inte odlar, hittade program med Monty Don på SVT play om paradis trädgårdar. Som vi båda gillar 🌞
Loved your interview with Monty who along with Nigel is loved and admired worldwide. I would love to see your videos footnoted in English which would expand your audience world wide. We watch a lot of Scandinavian movies in the US with footnotes. Many of your countrymen living in the mid west US would love to see your cold weather gardening efforts. Wish we had some of your soil!
Enjoyed this. Definitely inspiring I've never liked this whole idea of putting the garden to bed there are things to do in every month. If you can do it there when it's even colder we can do it here in the UK.
Hi Sara, Just found yr channel through one of my fav UK gardeners, Monty Don. What a thrill 2 speak with him in person. Seems like such a gentle man too. I have subscribed to you yo watch what you do mostly because of where you live and wanting to still garden into the fall. Good for you. So hope u can have dome more English videos or maybe have them translated.
Your channel, garden & attitude are inspiring - thank you very much (found you while I was browsing for bokashi btw). Looking forward to more English videos from you 😃
Hi Sara, I enjoyed your video and have subscribed. I hope you'll start doing videos in English because I would love to see how you garden in Sweden. Thank you!
Gayla, thank you! I'm so glad that you found my channel. Let me ask you, would you be ok with videos that have an English subtitle? That would be the easiest way for me to publish more vidoes in English, as a compliment to new videos where I speak English. I mean, if people think it's disturbing with the subtitle and prefer something else. I'll be happy for some advice if you have the time. /Sara
Thanks for this inspiring video, Sara. At 13.55 you say: "I have to think a lot and be outside to live with my garden" ... What do you mean by "live with my garden"?
Thank you so much for this video - very helpful. I really wish you did your videos/blog in English, as I would love to follow you and could learn so much. Best wishes from England. Lottie
Anyone interested in this subject needs to check out Eliot Coleman who successfully market gardens in the winter. He lives in Maine. Key is sewing in the late summer and having your crops mature by Nov. Then harvest all winter. Check out his book `Winter Harvest Handbook,` it`s brilliant.
Trevlig intervju, men om man ska vara petnoga heter det Gardeners' World dvs. på svenska, inte Odlarens värld utan, Odlarnas värld. /Hälsning från Torsby
