    I try to learn Kurmanji but, when I was on Facebook (I left that social media over a year ago), I also joined a group where Sorani was taught with our Latin alphabet. However, when I left that social web, I couldn´t find other free online material teaching Sorani with the Roman letters, this is so useful for us westerners who don´t want to learn the Arabic alphabet, gelek spas for that!
    It´s interesting how many in Kurdish cognates from several other Indo-European languages are clearly recognized by someone who has some knowledge of these roots! It´s truly beautiful.
    Please, keep up the wonderful job! Her biji, Kurdistan, much love from Brazil!

      Thats is one of the reason Kurds learn European languages so quick and easy as almost all structure and words are from the same roots.
      Just like;
      osto = esti = hestî: bone
      star = estar = stêr: star
      better = behtir
      cent = sed
      bow = brî = ebrû
      I can go on like this for thousands of words, terms, names and so on.

    Hi! I am a Kurdish girl who lives in the UK. I'm worried that I'm starting to forget my language. I really want to learn how to read and write in Kurdish as I will then be able to read Kurdish literature and keep myself connected to me language. Is there any possibility that you could make videos on how to read and write Kurdish or perhaps point me in the right direction of where to start? Thanks!!

    Just to clarify something. In Sorani Kurdish gender plays no role. In Kurmanji, Dimli, Hawrami and I think Leki it does. In Kurmanji for example we use for him "wî" and for her "wê". We also differentiate between object, animals and humans. If we ask who is this, we say "ew ke/ki ye" (depending on gender). When we ask "what is that" we say, "Ew cî ye". "Cî" is specifically used for objects or animals/plants.
