The last group was the AllStars led by Dizzy Gillespie and they were playing one of his standard bebop tunes. It was Larry Coryells turn. He whipped up a Hendrixesque lead break that got the young crowd giving him a standing ovation. It was about the past being brought forward and made more modern. Many of the great fusion players as well as rock gods would tell you that Jimi was the most influential guitarist of the 60’s. Shalom
