Question for you, Erin. This is the first I've heard of Morel entering the home hi-fi market. The Avyra series looks stunning at their price point so I checked out their website and listed dealers. I can't find any site that has them listed for sale. Did you happen to hear from them if they plan to make them available through any online retailers?
check it out:
www.morelhifi.com/en/products/hifi-stereo/avyra-50/
Looking towards the future coverage of the unobtainium 😂
Me too!! 😂
Cute..
It's good to see you having a great time and enjoying yourself rather than being stressed and burdened.
Hey Erin, did you get a chance to see Marques Brownlees last 2 videos? Fantastic timing (coincidence?) with regards to your "situation" the last couple weeks lol
yeah i wanted to ask him yesterday in the daily hifi podcast
Yes! I loved how markass was able to explain reviews from his perspective as a powerful tech reviewer
I did. Someone sent me a link last night. Really interesting stuff. I even replied to his video (but I doubt he ever sees it).
I did. Very relevant
I think it is a bit different though. What happened here is all on the manufacturer. The review itself was kind of positive. For the price it seems like a good speaker. It's just the fragile behaviour of the owner that hurts them.
Axpona 24 marks a _TEKTONic_ shift in the way audio shows are conducted
😂😂😂
Oh gawd ... here we go. ;P
Thats cold. Was an iceberg involved?
@@vincebagusauskas278Aye aye cap’n, full speed ahead, this ship is as unsinkable as your ego. Coming soon, our new model the Hubris.
@@fonkenful Sarcasm is lost on you: Whooosh!!!!!!!!!
I'm with you on the Morel towers! Biggest surprise of the show for me. Those are so good for the money. Loved those speakers and they look great. Wish I would have run into you!
Sorry for the multiple comments, Erin. Last night YT was having some kind of issue with commenting. I must have left five comments here. Let's see if they all show up. 😂
I love rockport speakers. Never been disappointed with every demo I’ve had
mind the paint though lol
Great report! Good to hear strong positivity in your voice. (After recent events.)
Hi Erin. I too was blown away by the Morel speakers. I have been in touch with Casey and have them "added to cart".
But then I decded i should wait for your review. I hope it's coming soon as you mentioned.
thanks for the news! glad you had fun.
I was lucky enough to be able to chat with Chris Brunhaver when I visited PS Audio HQ in 2022. At that time, he was working on the FR20. Affable, knowledgeable, and generous with his time. And, of course, the FR30s sounded excellent in their demo room.
🤔Affable?
Did you swallow a dictionary ?😂
@@shipsahoy1793: It's a perfectly cromulent word.
@@TheJediJoker 😂 🫵Wow, you're one of "those." 😵💫🤪
JediJoker.. the handle figures.😉 Mine is a dissimulation. I've learned over the years that the more you stick with basic vocabulary when communicating to a "general" audience, a higher probability exists that your message will be understood properly.
Even then, you're basically "tumbling dice."
"... and this is a picture of Channa and me". Made me chuckle for sure 😅
Nice review, thanks a lot Erin!
I won’t be surprised if Erin says “this is Mac and Me..” one day 😅 since he loves the 80’s a lot too, like me..
Really neat video of interesting speakers at this Axpona show visit!! Couldn't go to it. Hope all is well, and thanks!! 😊👍
Thanks for covering a lot of rooms i didnt make it to. Those console speakers are way cool!
Thank you for the AXPONA show report, but the greater gift is the ability to explain what you hear using detailed measurements to support listening impressions. Consequently, I have a high degree of confidence in your equipment evaluations.
Erin, I saw you at the bowling alley on Saturday, and I thought.. OMG is that Erin? Yep! I’ll most def say hello next time. Love the videos!
You totally should’ve said hey!
Great to hear you had a good Saturday at the show. I had a good day as well. I can't believe how packed that elevator was when we spoke briefly. Look forward to seeing you next time. All the best, Chris
The line for the elevators was nuts. We headed to the top floors and walked our way down the stairs for each floor. Good to see you man!
@@ErinsAudioCorner my wife and I did the same. Good strategy.
Dang, i wish i saw you at the show, love the content!!
Sorry I did not get a chance to run into you; great you had a good time. Vance Dickason! very cool. Looking forward to the new reviews.
Thanks for the video about the show. Looking forward to your upcoming speaker reviews. The Mofi towers do look awesome!
Great everything!
It was good meeting you and Techno Dad at the show!
It was cool meeting you last Saturday, Erin. Like I said when I met ya, I really appreciate how you correlate your reviews to what I'm hearing.
Man, it was good meeting you, too!
Great looking gear at this show
It was great meeting you Erin, I was in that breakfast group on Sunday and had an awesome time chatting.
It was good meeting you as well! That was a good way to start the day, eating with you all.
Glad you had a good time! REALLY looking forward to your review of the Super Dentons! I'm considering Lintons, Super Dentons, or RP-8000fii for my living room, and I am really hoping the Super Dentons are as good as the Lintons since they are closer to the RP-8000fii price.
I'm excited to see the rockport review! Fingers crossed that they follow through!
Like your style. I am looking foward to the Rockport review.
One day for the AXPONA show was not nearly enough because there were so much to audition. Hopefully, you can attend for more days next year.
I love seeing making a new video.
Great video! Going to be cool to see how much diminishing returns will kick in at these higher price points. I'm wondering how much better (or worse) they really are!
Good thing that MoFi didn't use 6 inch drivers for the tower model😉
Congrats!!! Those are incredible..! The Klippel will hold it? Man, .. I kept my eyes open for ya all weekend around Axpona... hopefully next time.
So glad you had a great time. How was that Carbon fiber finish? I've been seeing it on their photos.
Looking forward to see how these measure up. .. and if you enjoy their sound at home.
cheers!
Regarding Vance D, as a person who has made a number of speakers I am always looking to learn . I liked you were asking questions as knowledge is a journey.👍
im not sure if you are coming to mwave this year but i hope to see you there!
Just wanted to say Hello Erin, good to see you. Thanks for stopping to chat. Sorry you couldn't make the GTG, but you obviously had more on your plate. Maybe you'll remember my brand.
I think the 888s are now the best speaker for the money out there if you want dynamic “live” sound . The bass was stunning! Think I’ll be getting a pair too.
I have Rockport Atria II's on Burmester 911 MK3 amp and 088 preamp. they are Exceptional and so good i got rid of a more expensive pair of Vivid Audio Giya G2 speakers for them
Waiting for the FR5 review!
you are a treasure. no doubt you are building a base that will put you at the top of on line reviewers. well deserved. i do pity you having to place uber pricey heavy speakers on your test stand however.
Was Tekton there? Too soon? ;)
Nope. No show from what I heard. I never saw him. 🤷♂️
SI 24" Subwoofer and Berries FTW ;), you got to start somewhere right? Great to see you there and in good sprits, cheers! Maybe find time for a beer next time. We got to get you into more DIY.
I didn't mean to interrupt you in the middle of a conversation on Saturday but I was glad to see you there and be able thank you for your hard work especially after what had to be a bad week.
No worries at all, man! It was good to see you as well. Hopefully I’ll see ya again next year. 👍
Nice. I’d love to see how they test. Those AMT type tweeters are groundbreaking in terms of versatility I’ve heard they are even better integrated in 2024
Great that you'll be reviewing the Super Denton, Erin! I have the Denton 85 (as well as the Linton 85) and I'm curious to know how balanced the Super Denton is. For what it's worth, my Dentons clearly have elevated treble which I'm attenuating by replacing one of the speaker bridges (brass plates) with a 2 Ohm resistor. That way I can listen to every album which was simply impossible without the resistor.
DOVEDALE AND 888 pleaseeeeeeee
Really looking forward to your take on the Super Dentons! Everything else you mention seems too much for my wallet...😀 It would be nice if you could review the bookshelf versions of some of those others. (svs, morel) Keep it up!
Very nice! Looking forward to the super denton! The mofis look promising but seem out of place unless in a big room. If you can get your hands on 5050 q acoustics that'd also be great!
Those Source Point towers were really good
Will wait all that reviews, especially rockport, ruark, svs and dovedales
Sounds like a great day
I’m super excited to see how the Super Denton’s perform. I’ve heard good things about dome midrange drivers. If designed correctly they apparently have outstanding detail and imaging. The ATC SCM50 is my endgame speaker. The Super Denton’s look like a more attainable version of the ATC’s.
Erin, please let us know about the warranty info for Morel when you find out. Their website doesn't show anything.
Did you check the Theoretica Applied Physics room? That was the highlight for me. I spent most of my time there (I was only at Axpona half the day)
I wanted to. Channa did and said it was the best room of the show.
Hole 🕳️ up playboy 😁. Did you get a chance to listen to the JBL L100 🤔 man they had a good sound stage
Looking forward to the Wharfedale Super Denton. Thanks 👍 to the viewer who sent a pair for review. They are sold out...
Pretty sure the lyngdorf speakers are passive. Their integrated amp is awesome though but way overpriced now. I bought pre pandemic for slightly more than the Nad m33 and now it’s nearly $3k more.
You are correct. Not sure why I thought they were powered.
@@ErinsAudioCorner are you ever doing the burchardt a10 and their new sub a10? Not so interested in the speakers but the sub if competent looks to have a high girlfriend acceptance factor.
Any speakers tempting after having the blades?
I expect the rockports to be pretty good. Good build and drivers but maybe not amazing. Just have to wait and see.
It’s hard to say for sure. I mean, I really like the MoFi 888 but I can’t say they’re a sure-shot replacement without listening to both in my room with my music.
Bring on the Ruark review!
Store name is Audio Experience
Dang it! I kept getting that wrong all weekend.
The super Lintons look cool. Hope they sound good.
I spent some time in a Hi-Fi shop on Thursday and was able to attend the show on Friday, but there was way too much to see in only one day. The Borresen C1s were crazy good for a small stand-mount speaker. Very clear, detailed and dynamic! I also thought the GoldenEar T66 sounded very clean and dynamic with good bass extension. Some others that stood out were the Perlisten S7t, Focal Sopra 2 and Focal Kanta 2. The Focals definitely sounded more alike than different, with the Kanta seemingly being the better value. I thought the Paradigm 100F paired with a sub sounded pretty nice, though not the most refined top end. I was also pretty surprised by the Klipsch Cornwall iv. It's not the most neutral speaker, but it was clear, dynamic and had pretty big scale. I never really noticed the midrange sounding "shouty" or the treble being harsh either.
Erin your trajectory seems so strongly positioned.
You mentioned recently that you'll never be able to measure and assess loudspeaker performance for a living ...
I'm not so sure of that.
I realize you're in the hotbed of aerospace engineering. However, you never know what opportunities may arise.
Both your approach, and your character are really quite compelling.
Everyone sees this.
Erin any interesting DSP based products besides miniDSP. I need to see more products on dsp 2.1 amps
Erin, have you tried the Mon Acoustics, more specifically the supermon mini?
How were the Scansonic?
I didn’t get to hear those. Someone was getting a demo of the Rockports before us so I didn’t want to be a distraction.
Could've just titled this video "Great News"! There's so much cool stuff coming!
Ruark back in the day, especially in the UK in the 90s specialised in 2 channel speakers.
Btw. Ikea furniture is bachelor man cave pad. Lol
I refuse to accept that.
The Lyngdorf tweter is an in-house made!
i just know i looks like the ps audio tweeter, reminds me of the Bohlender Graebener Neo3 planar tweeter
In house design, or made in house?
@@FOH3663 In-house design by the the Lyngdorf group but not in Skive.
Dayton Audio OPAL 1...i hear these $799.00 bookshelf speakers sounded surprisingly good. Did you hear them at show?
I didn’t. But I do have them in for review.
Erin, I was there too on Fri and Sat, even 2 days I barely got thru the whole show! Sorry I didn't see you, would have loved to say hello. Standouts for me were the Consonus Tide/Submerge and CSS Typhon speakers. The big PS audio were sublime as well, but at a stratospheric price though. Actually the Consonus was expensive too, but the CSS were more reasonable. I loved the Morel BT speakers, amazing sound from those small boxes. Vanatoo's Transparent 1 also had very sound good from small boxes. I was hoping Philharmonic Audio would have their floorstanders, but they just showed the newer BMR with the SB white woofer. Really a fun show!
How was the YG speakers?
I didn’t get a chance to hear them.
Did you listen to the ESD horns audio system?
I love your reviews. Very informative. I hate Tekton speakers. They can suck my tweeter.
$140,000 that’s absurd pricing! What if they measure like crap!
Did you get a chance to listen to the Morel Avyra 633 a hidden gem according to some for only $2000?
I was there Sat and Sun. The speaker side of things was rather disappointing, but the headphone stuff was great. I went to the KEF room, and they only had ONE model there. . . 👎 Really not the place to go, to actually demo speakers. But an amazing event to see, still.
How did you get a free pass, when I'm the one on the AXPONA main page??! 😂 I didn't see you there, but I saw Steve Guttenberg, and the PS Audio guy.
I saw you 👍cheers
I'm early early... Glad you enjoyed the show... Couldn't make it this time as I'm all the way in Europe... Will be going to High End Munich though. Heard of Audio Excellence too. Nice to see you getting the high end market eyes
Also the Sourcepoint 888 is gonna shake the market
I hope I can make Munich next year.
Do you consult privately? I would like to add a subwoofer to a 2-channel system and have questions on the use of RoomPerfect correction system and integrating a subwoofer.
I might be able to help. Shoot me an email.
@@ErinsAudioCorner What is your email address?
hardisj at gmail dot com
I thought you were going to buy the KEF BLADE 2?
I said I was going to try. I just don't see how I can manage it. Even with the typical 'industry discount' (that even people at Best Buy can get), it's just so far out there. But I still want to.
Ruark please!
Any word from Danley?
I did receive an email recently. But they weren’t at the show. Not really their “thing”.
@@ErinsAudioCorner It just hit me that Danley (Tom) might be willing to share some spinorama data with you ... maybe? The ILE3 looks like it's based of the SBH20 Paraline (line synergy horn).
off topic here, but just watched a story of the NASA trip to the asteroid Bennu, where it said that the sample recovery vehicle made many orbits, landed, then returned to earth with the sample. It obviously it carries enough fuel for all that, Is it liquid fuel? Maybe once it's in orbit around the asteroid, just small amounts of fuel are required for orbit adjustments? You shouldn't have told us what you do! : )
having fun at an audio show is a hard concept for the audiovegan toilers
Anything from Revel?
They had some stuff there but I didn’t get a chance to listen. Room was full.
The Mofi's look solid
Want a Zenith Z-448 Whirlaway radio. Looks Ikea' ish. Classic, even has aux.
Sounds funn! Did you see the Starke Sound Beta 7? Seems like a potentially cool, affordable ($750) bookshelf with good bass. Cool looking carbon woofer and weird looking waveguide type thing.
Love my Elac DBR62 but the vinyl wrap looks cheesy af. Looking for good, affordable alternatives 😁
I passed the room but didn’t get a chance to stop in.
You know the economy is good when this many insanely expensive speakers exist 😂
"... Feed me, Seymour..." Did you listen to the Bose demo? (Crickets) 🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗
The Morels were insanely good.
German wool 😂😂😂
Did you measurements all the speakers at the show
I measured with my ears.
Let’s go!!! 🎉
Excellent t-shirt…
Honest manufacturers, who are confident about their speaker designs, should have no problem letting a reviewer like Erin measure their speakers objectively and state their opinions on the results.
Those who may be afraid of the outcome of said review... well... we now know how they might respond. 😉
You are a girlie man 🧍♂️ 😅( Arnold’s voice)
Get to tha choppa!!!
For God's sake 40K or more just for speakers! You must be kidding me. What kind of job would one have to afford and justify that? I have a home brew re-built set of speakers from the 60's that.....never mind. What a bunch of crap. Sorry, I call it like I see it. “First you make people believe they have a problem, and then you sell them the solution. That's how advertising works. Every snake oil salesman knows that.” ― Oliver Markus Malloy, Bad Choices Make Good Stories - Finding Happiness in Los Angeles. - The use of “snake oil” as a derogatory phrase traces back to the late 1800s when "patent medicines" were often peddled by travelling salesman or on the back pages of newspapers, promising cures, with little proof of their curative powers.
One dislike. I think we can guess who it came from
