- Опубликовано: 1 окт 2024
- Jack Carr led special operations teams as a Team Leader, Platoon Commander, Troop Commander and Task Unit Commander. Over his 20 years in Naval Special Warfare he transitioned from an enlisted SEAL sniper to a junior officer leading assault and sniper teams in Iraq and Afghanistan, to a platoon commander practicing counterinsurgency in the southern Philippines, to commanding a Special Operations Task Unit in the most Iranian influenced section of southern Iraq throughout the tumultuous drawdown of U.S. Forces.
Now a New York Times bestselling author, his fourth book in the James Reece action/thriller series, The Devil's Hand is preparing to release April 13th.

How? It takes years to get it? Hasn't andy only been practicing bjj for 3 years?
@@backskipper7111 It take years if you only go to class 3 times a week. I think Andy goes everyday.
@@backskipper7111 BJ Penn got his black belt in 3 years, it just depends on your natural ability and dedication
Nobody cares 🥶

Good morning y’all!! Can’t wait for this one! Ive read all of Jack’s books. If you haven’t dove into the world of Jack Carr yet..your missing out!
Haha Jack throwing in a couple of "side of the house " before Andy
You’re issued that phrase in BMT in every service lol
@@UrNotThatGuyPal Also general issue is the phrase "secondary and tertiary"
I wish he could write faster. I can't get enough of this guys books. Every single one of them have left me wanting more. Very excited to hear there are more in the pipeline.
He writes more in a week than George R.R. Martin writes in a year.
@@MakerInMotion I'm sure he writes a lot. I feel like I can't get enough of his books. It sounds like he's on idea overflow. I think it's interesting to hear people like him talk. I've just recently got into doing more reading so, I don't know many authors. He seems to do very thorough research. It makes his stories so much more real when he talks about actual items and places that exist.
Its not that we want a full auto to shoot people more efficiently, its that we should have the ability to buy it. No ones out here saying full auto is more effective (and if they are theyre dumb) its the unconstitutional restrictions in place preventing people to purchase one in the first place that we have a problem with.
The main reason they stopped relying exclusively on privateers, citizens armed with warships, and created the Navy was to combat the pirates raiding the coast for goods and slaves. There is no way to read the second amendment except literally given the history. If certain people want it changed there is a legal way. Those that have chosen to limit constitutional rights without going through the laid out process are officially defined as domestic threats in said constitution.
The hardest part of Hell week has got to be the rest of us hearing about it constantly.
😂😂😂😂right!?
Lmao, 100%
Scott helvenston not only was the youngest buds graduate at 17 years old, but he still holds obstacle course record years after his death.
100% correct. HooYah Scottie Helvenston. RIP Brother
Sean: Sidenote/ Fun Fact: Helvenston was on a TV show in early 2000s with the founding enlisted member of the SEALs, Master Chief Rudy Boesch. Irony, one of the longest serving SEALs in NAVSPECWAR, founding CMC of Team Six and the Original Bullfrog, Master Chief Boesch paired up with the youngest SEAL graduate. Decades apart was the beauty. Just a point of factual conversation.
There was also a 17 year old who graduated BUDs in the class 234 documentary
@@BostonsF1nest
I thought that guy was 18 in 234?
17 when training started, perhaps.
As you guys were discussing the topic of free speech, Jack mentioned that if submitting a comment on a particular topic or something that's unfolding; One should put in the mat time, or do your homework. Andy suggested that perhaps something has been settled through legal means, and so there should be no need for violence. They're correct in a general sense. That's noble, but when the laws aren't being prosecuted upon those breaking them then what? The elite don't care about The United States of America. For many of them borders, laws, and constitutions mean nothing. My question. At what point do we call bullshit ? I mean when do we admit we see through the subterfuge? As Jack clearly made an analogy for what's happening with the 2A; they're administratively making it nearly impossible to buy, or own a gun. At what point do we finally make a stand? What if it were to become violent? Then what?
the question everyone is asking. what exactly is the last straw
@@southernhood5145 yup! I'm borderline pacifist. Unless you're on my property threatening death, or trying to deal death. On the big picture I'm very much against just charging out of the trenches Willy nilly. Iraq was bullmess. I say that in hindsight though (except for what comes later in this rant). None of the deaths, or war wounds were bull; but the premise of it. I don't have a better idea about how things should have been handled because I'm definitely not a good idea fairy. All I know is that lots of outstanding bad asses were killed, mamed, or gained unseen damage i.e. TBI, Cancer (from burn pits etc. E.G. Justin Legg) . Yet none of them or their families benefited from it. I am ashamed to say that I once was for taking down Sadam. That was the extent of it though. I will say that from the beginning I maintained that we should have had a plan. Forget "better plan". There really was no plan. Yes there was a strategic plan on how to pommel Iraq; but no minor, or significant plan for how to best manage the fall out.
Anyway. Yeah. When is enough enough? I know there are groups like the movement Convention of States; but no solid to the point panel of straight up leadership. We have some politicians like Ted Cruz, Matt Goetz, and several others that seem genuine about taking exception to the circus. But they haven't banded together outside of their current positions to declare a full stop on the undermining of real Americans. We'll see one of these days. I'm 49. Hopefully it'll happen never. But in my lifetime I've seen a polar shift that seems unlikely to happen even in a work of fiction.

Congratulations on the purple, Andy!
What James Reese did to the Russian gangster in Savage Son, was some of the spiciest fiction I've ever read.
Literally jaw dropping
Woah Jack Carr ! Definitely will listen to this later once I catch up on the other ones. Hope everyone’s having a good day
New studio better mean THE RETURN OF THE DAMN GREEN SCREEN ANDY!!!!!!

I'm happy to hear Mr. Carr use the word FREEDOM multiple times. Reagan said "freedom is but one generation from extinction
". Well..here we are.
I feel free as ever
@@wtos71 Try exercising all of your Constitutional freedoms. They are limited these days. Sadly.
@@BradMason2014 theres always been a limit. Always. Dont let right wing propaganda outlets make you a drama queen. Think for yourself.
@@wtos71 Actually there was never a limit for a long time. So yeah, let's go back to those days. Also don't tell me how to think beta.
@@BradMason2014 oh you said "beta". Nothing more beta than throwing that around in internet conversatuons. Thanks for letting us all know that about you.
Yes theres always been some limit. You can tell yourself different, your low iq friends may repeat it, but it clearly, factual false.
You dont HAVE to be an idiot, you just choose to be. All I said was to think for yourself and that really upset you. Very telling. SAD!
It's not a 6 week stand it is 6 weeks to schedule a one day stand down for extremism training.
I received an achievement medal once in the Air Force, I was stoked to get it. Then I realized once I got it that it was copy pasted because it said she, her, and herself throughout. Still have it!
Thank You both for your service, not only in the military but helping brothers find sanity.
Congratulations on completing Ironman (no matter where you placed, it’s an accomplishment to be proud of)! And of course, reaching purple! 2021 looking good for you! Anyone on here do the stereo live Q&A? I downloaded the app, but not sure what time these typically are.
When is Andy gonna do a career USAF CCT on? Love these seals, but it would be cool if he sprinkled a few AF SW guys on here.
Jared Taylor and Andy would be a great episode.
Check out the “combat story” podcast. The host is a former Apache helicopter pilot and he’s had numerous Air Force guys on already tho his most recent episode is with Eddie Penney, former seal.
I had no idea how badass AF SF guys were until my brother started working with them. I got curious and started reading about PJs and CCT dudes. Impressive
check out onesready podcast if you want to hear specwar dudes
@@3User That Aaron guy keeps trying to be a comedian when theyre answering about important topics. Thats my problem with their podcast. It happens in every episode too.
Great way to start the morning! Now off to work for diversity and inclusion training......
This guy has done a little bit of work in the spec op world lol. What a bad ass. Andy gets straight up pipe hitters in this show.
Jack is so right, “They played the long game.” Andy, this isn’t some small vocal minority. They are big enough to be handing cultural change books to the entire military leadership. That’s not small.
Morning all!!
At age 17 Scott Helvenston became the youngest person to complete Navy SEAL training
And? Where the rest of the story?
@@Adam_Hebert Google
There was also a 17 year old who graduated BUDs in the class 234 documentary
Scott was the youngest to graduate. He was working for Black water and was killed in Falluja with three other contractors. They were on a resupply convoy and there bodies were desecrated on the Falluja bridge in 2004.
Most countries in the 1st world have a chance at equal opportunity , americans live In a bubble
Awesome work on the Purple... Ironman sounds spicy!
When is Chris VanSant going to be on?
I feel like Andy plays dumb sometimes.
I've said before on the comments section for Cleared Hot that I don't believe him whenever he ridicules his own intelligence. I don't think he's dumb at all.
Clearly,he's not stupid. Also,I don't think he should be talking about himself that way. Self-deprecation and humility is one thing but it's not a good look to be continually referring to yourself as an idiot,a moron, dumb, stupid, etc
Especially as a parent because I'm pretty sure he wouldn't want his kids to be talking about themselves that way, right? He puts himself down so much that it almost makes it seem like he has low self-esteem(I'm not saying he does but that's just how it's starting to come across to me because of how often he talks about himself that way).
@@JR-ju3kj Like you said, he is clearly not stupid and, continually referring to yourself as stupid or dumb when you are clearly not, gets annoying.
I believe it’s his approach to humility.
I’ve read all of his books! Already pre ordered his next one!
You posited the quintessential question Andy : who's driving the boat, or, who is the Puppet Master?
Powerful Jack Carr
1:23:15 but in Vegans this "fake" full auto with bump stocks worked great right?
Andy, you must get up to speed. French opera ALWAYS has a ballet, (used to be mandated by the crown). C'mon, man! Jack wins the point. 1669 to present: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paris_Opera_Ballet
Never pretend that opera is not totally badass and hardcore!
One of my favorite authors on one of my favorite podcasts. Looking forward to the next book and digging the new podcast from Jack Carr. Today’s Cleared Hot ushered me through a few hours of shellacking tongue and groove boards for my living room. Thanks for making that suck less.
I was 4 years old when you guys started BUDS lol. I’m 27 almost 28 now lol 😂.
Same lol
Uh... Discovery Channel all had us believing that Honor Man was given out for...Honor. Class 238 I believe it was, the guy that was on his 3rd BUDS try that finally made it through, by actually putting out ? Sound familiar ? His name escapes me, but was it Marlon X...?..... Latino fella, Enlisted, cool/friendly guy ? He seemed to fit the bill at the time.
Mucho congratulations on leveling up Andy!!
19:00 DJ Shipley turned 18 during Hell Week. It’s the current record.
I thought Scott Helvenston held the record?
@@JR-ju3kj he might. I only know DJ.
Heck yeah!!! Pumped to see Jack Carr on here, if that’s even their real name!?!?
Waiting for The Devils Hand on April 13th!!!
Great episode, the more I hear from Jack, the more of a fan I become of his
I can't fully endorse Jack's novels until he incorporates Andy as a Master Sommelier into one.
Hey Jack the daily wire is looking for cool story's to make moves about on the streaming sight
What a waste of time to watch this. Andy had TIER1 gest and all they talk is about some sociological bs instead of asking right questions. C'mon man, we are here because of your guest. Start asking right questions, don't pretend to be Oprah. Even she would manage to ask better questions..
The short story in question is Harrison Bergeron. Classic, powerful short story.
forgiveness and resiliency... Thanks Andy and Jack...a great conversation!
45:00 you said that you dont know about that if there is another countrie in world that gives you equal acces to opportunity well then let me enlighten you most of the Europe is like that. have nice day sir
I think it's funny that the first 37 minutes of today's episode can easily prove to you that the saying "if your gonna be dumb you better be tough" also has a sister statement of "just because you're tough, doesn't mean you're smart".
Who's at the helm? You may not mention who or question details of their WWII hyper-fable.
This is literally like when I thought..take up chess at our downtown community center. Our instructor's eyes were like a hawk! he would say in his Russian accent "lemon"...it was so resonate. I would stop keep my hand on the chess piece..move back..try again. My kids were in same boat, so it was great, they too get a passionate lesson earlier in life.
47:18 sounds a lot like Fahrenheit 451
Forget the guys name but some AF education leader talking about private pilots license being weighted towards a pilot MOS being racist because it costs money but blantantly ignoring the entire bachelors requirement thing.

Great interview. Would love to see a round table discussion with you, Jack Carr, Evan Hafer, Mike Glover, Matt Best, Jocko, Shawn Ryan, Colion Noir...... that would be epic....
What exactly would Noir bring to this conversation? "I, too, like when cool gun makes pewpew" ?

Great conversation, guys. I like how both of you are level headed and open to other opinions not necessarily in agreement with your own. I will say one thing I disagree with and that's the Dr. Seuss being "cancelled." They weren't cancelled, per se, buy others. The Dr. Seuss estate decided themselves to restrict access to certain books. I don't have to agree with it and neither do you, but it's wholly different than a public outcry to "cancel" them. Awesome show, Andy!
nice work on Purple Belt, Andy!
If that is even his real name.
I just love how honest and level headed these guys are!
Congratulations on your purple belt sir!
Cool. Jack is the best.

I have seen Jack Carr doing the podcast circuit, typically like what he has to say, and consider him a thoughtful and intelligent gentleman whose discussed personal opinions I align with more than disagree. I've been dimly aware of his work in fiction writing for some time, but because of this episode I finally got around to listening to the Audible intro to The Devil's Hand and just the epilogue alone has me committed to purchasing these on my next reading list. A man who sees the wisdom of Thucydides and Sun Tzu in gripping contemporary relevancy can probably write the hell out of a fiction series too. Don't let me down Mr. Carr. And it will please me knowing my money will go to furthering Mr. Carr's agenda of 2nd Amendment awareness, something our soft underbelly of a society seems to have dangerously lost touch with.
Love this podcast. Just found out about Jack Carr and recently bought The Terminal List. I have not read a book this quickly in a long time, couldn’t put it down. I’ll buy the next four soon and recommend them to anyone who digs fiction based on real experience. As far as forgiveness, I couldn’t agree more with Jack. It’s an incredibly powerful thing and I highly suggest implementing it in all situations.
Same thing in Various Marine Corps Training/Selections, Some Guys just SUCK at the the "Training" and barely make it through, or for some reason they Do Not Shine in that Light, But Then when we got to the Fleet, They Were Stud Savage Bad Ass Marines.
I wonder if these guys went to BUDS. They never talk about it...
Speaking of the honor man of Andy’s class I ran across a random Netflix episode of a show called “Forensic Files” and they use forensics (obviously) to figure out the murder. I recognized it after they were caught stealing from a hooters and recall Andy speaking about it. If anything from that episode is true regarding some of the things he did he was a truly terrible person.
🤘
Due to life circumstances I never joined the military and now at 41 have started BJJ mainly for the crucible of earning and learning something difficult!
I sense that Navy Seals get all the spotlight in media etc...
While IMO Green Berets are the best military branch but in general people don't find that Green Beret sound as tough as Navy Seal 😅
Leadership is needed from our leadership ,can you think of any people suited to be leaders , pointy end of the spear type people trained in how to bring Together people who want to be free ,and train such people to counter a scoliosis ,or other opressive insurgency ,.... asking for a friend

Great 2 hours. I really enjoy both of these guys. Read the first 3 books Jack. am now ordering the 4th. I ditched Facebook and Twitter, but will try to follow you some other way.
Great interview and discussion. While I applaud your optimism, I fear this country has now reached its tipping point and is heading down into the abyss from which it will not recover. For the sake of my children and grand children, I hope I am wrong.
Andy got his purple belt in just over two years?! Damn!
Please try and get my cousin on. Calvin markham. Look him up on youtube. Hes had an amazing millitary career and id love to hear his stories.
That's rather entertaining. Haunted Mesa is the *only* Louis L'Amour book I have read. It's a great book.

Rifleman Dodd was a dogshit book. It was so poorly written I had flashbacks to 2nd grade.
Ubisoft should hire Jack Carr to help write Tom Clancys ghost recon
I'm just so impressed at the depth of conversation here, not just about the ammendments that a lot of people talk about, but the forgiveness discussion took it to the next level. Well done.
If you make the guy at the top and the guy at the bottom equally the same, that takes the opportunity for improvement away from that guy at the bottom.
