How to Mustang Clutch Roller Bearing Conversion

- In this video we will rebuild a 65 to 68 mustang clutch and brake pedal assembly, then add a roller bearing conversion. This is a major upgrade to the original clutch assembly and will provide smooth activation of the clutch.

Surprised only one comment. I'm back into working on a Mustang after a 30 year absence. This stuff wasn't around obviously back then. I was surprised to see the Drake and Mustang Steve kits have been around at least 10 or more years. Crazy.
Seems like the Drake can be installed by anyone with a Dremel. And the Mustang Steve requires welding. Seems like for someone who is tidying up a Mustang to sell, or maybe a casual driver (though those folks aren't usually working on their cars these days), Drake is a reasonable option. I ordered the Mustang Steve kit but I certainly don't see anything wrong with the needle/roller setup.
It truly is amazing how many parts and options are available for these cars. Thanks for checking out my video and commenting. The Drake was an easy upgrade for this build and seems like a quality kit. Don’t remember seeing Mustang Steve’s kit when we planed this upgrade. Either way they are better that the factory way of doing it. Happy to hear you are back working on your mustang, good luck with your build.
I’ve yet to drive a butter smooth clutch on a 60s mustang.. it’s the kind of car I dread getting into traffic with because the clutch is a bear! My leg gets tired on trips.. I loved the clutch in my 2009 bmw 335xi.. has anyone driven a 60s mustang with an easier clutch or is it hopeless?
This assembly was installed an a 65 mustang with the addition of a hydraulic clutch from Modern Overdrive. It is very smooth with a lot less effort than the original setup. Not sure if it will compare to your BMW, but it is much easier on your leg.

Great video but......Carl this Carl that, etc. How about saying, the bushing is installed followed by the retainer clip, etc.
